I tried to watch the closer, but that fake southern accent Sedgewick attempts is so bad that it was laughable and I had to turn it asap!
Saving Grace is a really good show on TNT imo.

Yeah, the southern accent was pretty bad, but it’s gotten better. Once you get past that the show itself is really, really good.

OMG! Dawg95, that is the same reason I don’t watch it!! I watched one episode during season 2 and I couldn’t stomach it. I am sooo glad someone else had the same reaction I did. Barb, I tried to look past that, but since she’s in every scene, it’s hard to get past.

Come on guys… you can’t tell me you haven’t heard an accent like that.. if you haven’t, you aren’t from the South. Take a ride down to Macon or Savannah.. or over to Birmingham.. its there.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought Brenda’s Southern accent is way over the top – I grew up in GA and live in AL and no one in the South talks like that !!! Otherwise a great show and don’t miss it.
However, “Saving Grace” is really, really GOOD and is better IMHO.

Yes, Kyra’s southern accent is fake. But it is better than any others who have tried it in the past. Saving Grace doesn’t have to fake it, she’s a girl from Smyrna.

The accent(s) including JW Baily,s character is irritating …. Which really takes away from the story line
IMO.

I’ve lived in Atlanta for 32 years and there are PLENTY of Southerners that talk like Brenda Leigh Johnson especially those from South Georgia! I think Kyra Sedgwick does a pretty good job with the Southern accent. The show is one of the best TV as to offer. Can’t wait to see the opener tonight!
