5/25: TV best bets: “Jon & Kate,” “Ice Road Truckers,” “Wipeout,” “Meet the Browns” come back

With broadcast TV throwing out shows that didn’t make the cut during the regular season, cable networks are bringing back some of their big guns this week.

A & E returns with “Intervention” Monday and “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Wednesday.

TBS’s “Meet the Browns” on Thursday starts a full season after its 10-episode test run earlier this year was a success while History Channel’s biggest show “Ice Road Truckers” comes back for a third season Sunday.

Does all the publicity make you want to watch "Jon & Kate Plus 8" more?

Industry insiders confirm Hollywood Reporter’s article that ABC Studios is actively trying to sell Reaper. Syndication is a very real possiblity right now, but EVERYONE is recommending writing your affiliates! Help out! All details here:

“Thanks to spellcheck, people don’t need to actually know how to spell but we do admire kids who can.”
Unfortunately, 7 out of every 10 people who frequent blogs and message boards don’t care fudge about using spellcheck. They’re either too lazy or they think how they spell the word is how it’s actually spelled.

I will not watch Jon and Kate. Kate is a horrible person – at least he way she treats Jon. Her treatment did not just start either. It started shortly after the first season. At this point in time – she is rarely home – the way she talks to Jon in front of the children. This is a form of abuse, in my opinion.
TLC should be ashamed of themselves. These children did not ask to be in the public eye.

On Thursday I think “The Real Housewives of New York” is showing lost footage, not “Orange County.” Just FYI…

How can you face someone for the first time if you live together? Why did they agree to sit apart on a loveseat? wow, the price to sell yourself… is it really worth it?

Of course they are doing this reality show for the money. It must be very expensive to take care of that many children on one income. She does talk to him like one of the kids but he doesn’t seem to realize that she can’t do this alone, he has to help her and he gets sidetracked and goofs off and meanwhile there she is trying to do it all herself. She is the much more responsible parent and he HAS to get in there and help out whether he wants to or not.

Reports are that all Kate cares about is money. Book tours, Talk shows, and radio shows is all she is interested in. I always refused to watch this show because of how she treated him…FROM DAY ONE! She is a B I T C H in the truest sense of the word. I hope John DOES leave her…who will take care of the kids THEN when she is traveling everywhere?

Who will care for the kids…how about the Jon and Kate Plus 8 nanny entourage. Who do you think is taking care of them right now?

I’ve watched this show from the beginning and always thought kate treats Jon like one of the kids. It’s okay for a woman to be assertive and smart; it’s not okay to be dismissive and rude, which is how she treats her husband. I’m watching now and am blown away by how one minute she says she regrets how she treated him, but then in the nest breath says he has become a different person and isn’t going along with the program. The man is tired of staying home with the kids after leaving his career behind. I know everybody has to pitch in to take care of the kids, but she doesn’t seem to get that he needs his own life, something that makes him happy outside of the home. It’s all Kate all the time. Sad.

“Diamonds may be forever but the way ‘blood diamonds’ are handled in Africa are truly ugly.” C’mon Rodney — the way ARE? Do you ever proofread anything?

Is it really a surprise that all this fuss about Jon stepping out on Kate came right at the time the new season was starting?? Of course it’s going to be the thing to watch, that’s how they planned it.
