5/13: Sheree Whitfield’s fashion show
Sheree Whitfield held a fashion show last night for her new line She By Sheree at the W Hotel. Bravo made everyone sign some sort of blanket confidentiality statement so I’m not even sure what I’m allowed to write about. But I didn’t visually see any drama so I think I’m fairly safe.
The housewives arrived late but they did arrive. Dwight Eubanks, the “sixth” housewife, was there first. Then in order, I saw Lisa Wu Hartwell, Kandi Burress, Nene Leakes and coming up the rear, Kim Zolciak.
I figure I’d take a few pictures and get out of there relatively unscathed. The show started about 45 minutes late, not too horrible considering the circumstances. Sheree showed off about 25 outfits, mostly black, gray and blue. There were not a lot of prints. The pop came from the accessories, including very large baubles and enormous hoop earrings. There were also plenty of fur stoles.

Whitfield said she’s going to try to sell pieces to boutiques. Her publicity material she provided for the attendees described her collection as “the classy chic of the fifties with the power and sophistication of the twenty first century.” The writing is shamelessly breathless:
The results of SHE look effortless, but it is clear that the designer is a master of detail and nothing is overlooked. Sheree Whitfield is a modernist and declares, “This line is geared towards women who are identifying with their inner beauty and are empowered to express their freedom of style. This is a new day and a new dawn for the expression of feminity.”
During the first season, she was working on her She by Sheree line but didn’t have any clothing ready in time for her intro party. This time, she said she was literally working until today on the outfits to get them ready for the Bravo cameras. “I’m relieved. I’m tired. I’m excited,” she said afterwards.

Among the celebrities R&B singer Bobby Valentino, singer Angie Stone, retired NFL player Dorsey Levens, WSB-TV anchor Jovita Moore, producer Jazzy Phe and designer Mychael Knight.
I asked her about how she’s doing financially. She always takes the tact with reporters that nothing is ever wrong and looked at me faux blankly. “What do you mean?” she said. She also kept to Bravo’s dictate of saying nothing about the second season, simply parroting the network’s tagline, “Watch what happens!”

The event publicist Cherry Banez apologized because some guy named Jonathan Clardy (who dubs himself the “publicity prince” online) got into our photographer Hyosub Shin’s face so Hyosub left without photos. Clardy also said that I wrote “disparaging things” about his client but he couldn’t stop me from talking to Sheree. Clardy claimed to be Sheree’s publicist to me but Sheree denied it later. Very very strange.
UPDATE: at 3:32 p.m. EST, I received this email from Clardy himself:
Mr. Ho,
I would like to extend my apologies for our exchange on last nite at the SheBySheree clothing line launch.
I recently moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles and when I initially started working with Sheree Whitfield, as a publicist, I read all media and press concerning her as to acclimate myself.
In the execution of being a publicist, I did mention to you that I was aware of some of the articles that you had written about her, hoping that you would write something positive with regard to this event, it was not my intent to offend you or your photographer.
I would like to personally thank you and Cherry Banez for aprising me that I am not her publicist via your blog and article. I only wish that Ms. Whitfield had been forthright with me personally vs a media outlet.
Thanks for your understanding and consideration in this matter.

Sheree’s fashion show was the most exciting and visually satisfying fashion show to ever hit ATL. It was very professionally done and reminded me of being in NYV during fashion week. Kudos to all those involved.

Why does the AJC, a falling paper, pay to have someone cover these older women full-time?
It’s not news, and I don’t know how they afford to pay Rodney Ho to cover them. It is NOT money real spent.
These articles posted on the website only beg two questions: 1) Why is this article here? 2) Why are Rodney Ho pieces never edited? It’s always difficult to get past faulty grammar. Bravo made everyone “signed”…….?

Atlanta’s housewivesis as entertaining as the houewives of NY City, Orange County and NJ, I love watching them all. Nee Nee will always be my favorite, I loved Deshawn but I guess she didn’t bring enough drama to the show. It’s all good thoug, I have a question though, “Why aren’t all of them housewives meaning married women, Dwight (luv ‘em) is a houseman not a housewife? I thought it was called the real HOUSEWIVES of Atlanta, not Ex wives or singles, someone from Bravo answer this.

Never seen the show, I have no desire to see a show, and from reading everyone’s comments about the show…I’m not waisting my time. Reality TV is so outdated and it’s nothing but catfights and bickering. Grow up ladies!

These women do nothing but create their own messes wherever they are. Sheree better be glad BRAVO did show up, otherwise her clothes would go NO WHERE and no one would CARE. The REAL Housewives of Atlanta are the ones that are the Philanthropic and Civic leaders of this city…luckily they all have too much class to be on this show…so I propose it should be renamed ‘The Trashy Housewives of Duluth’

I am very proud of her. Sheree set her mind to do fashion and get her own clothing line and she did just that. Being a business owner is not easy there are a lot of trail and era. So hats off to you sweety.Being a business owner myself know this first hand.We need to support one another not put them down and speak negative toward them.

The Fashion show was excellent, the best ever in Atlanta. alot of jealousy including a few designers who thought they could have done better but never did.Nene and Lisa really supported Sheree the rest you can see jealousy. Kandy you need to get the F… OFF the show you make no sense at all.

Thanks for keeping it real RS!!! But really Sheree should have utilized her money (or the ex husband’s money, however you see it) in a better way- like OUR FIRST BLACK LADY DID. Reach out to these children running the streets or write a $#@! book or something else besides wasting time with “Barbie doll” dreams, playing with the entertainment world’s emotions. Big ups to M. Not all of the housewives on any show is married. RHOFNY only has 3 married, Kelly is divorced & Bethany has never been married. RHOOC Jeana is getting a divorce, who cares, it’s just Hollywood, it’s not that serious people. My goodness. Save your stress for something else. Don’t like Dwight though. Let these ladies act & get paid. With the economy I am sure most ladies would be more than happy to be in front of the camera.

Ree-Ree, you got to give it to Kim though, big ups to any women who can pull a baller with a dog face! She really not too bad looking (with paint on). Anybody know who Kim cuddy is anyway? I missed a few episodes. But that #$@! reunion show was a mess. I’m not a person for drama, but I really wanted to see what happened if Lisa hadnt been so eager to give ole girl a lap dance!!!
