4/26: Celebrity Apprentice recap: Melissa Rivers dumped

Angriest… departure… ever!

More than 100 people have been eliminated from this show over the years. Melissa Rivers took it by far the worst ever. She declined any post-show interview with the producers, cursed up a storm and called Brande Roderick and Annie Duke “whore pit vipers.” (Those Rivers know the descriptive nasties, eh?) What’s cooler, Joan Rivers joined her daughter in solidarity and left in disgust.

‘You are a piece of xxxx and you’re a stupid blonde!” Joan said to the two of them as they returned. She then accused Roderick of being manipulated, which the former Playboy Playmate noted, “I’m still here!”

Roderick also said (rightly) that this is about raising the most money, which gave Rivers an excuse to go after Duke one more time: “You give money with blood on it. You’re a poker player. You’re beyond white trash.”

Was Melissa Rivers' angry post-firing reaction justified?

Will Melissa convince her mom to come back? I bet she will do so by telling Joan to take out Annie.

[By the way, I had planned to do recaps only while Georgia connected Herschel Walker (out last week) and T-Boz (out two weeks ago) were on the show. But since there are just three episodes left anyway and Herschel will be back next week, I figured I'll finish this out.]

Let’s go back to what happened.

There were two conflict points. The first one didn’t matter this week in the end because their team won: Jesse James vs. Clint Black. (I know, I know. What the heck is Clint Black still doing here? He makes good TV with his quiet arrogance and that black hat.)

The challenge was to create a four-page print ad for a new Right Guard product. This NBA player David Lee would be featured.

James had a clear idea of how to do the ad, but Clint Black was the project manager. Black incorporated some of James’ ideas but wanted a lot more of the brand message and colors than James. James was very passive aggressive, quietly angry at first, then eventually letting Black had it near the end of the challenge.

“Clint sucks,” James said forlornly to the camera.

But he was lucky because the Right Guard folks didn’t like the other team’s concept as much. So Clint, go figure, won as project manager.

Ultimately, the more interesting problem was between Melissa and the dynamic duo of Annie and Brande, who remained buddy buddy again. Melissa felt “frozen out.”

James Cramer, one of the observers for Donald Trump, at first felt Brande should be eliminated because she delegated to Annie, who created the concept and did the presentation. But Brande put a strong defense which impressed Cramer while Melissa sounded, well, whiny. And Melissa didn’t raise as much money over the entire game as the other two. (For once, fundraising became criteria. As we know, Trump seems to enjoy coming up with oddball reasons to nix someone each week nowadays.)

So the final five (or four?) are now Brande, Annie, Joan, Jesse and Clint. Who deserves to win at this point? Annie, from a pure game-playing standpoint and fundraising, should. But you can argue that Jesse has been real sharp, too. I can’t see Clint, Joan or Brande winning this, to be honest. Clint has been generally too much Mr. Conflict. Joan has worked hard but bitched and moaned a lot and hasn’t raised much money despite her Hollywood connections. Brande? She’s not as dumb as Joan thinks she is, but she is still not nearly as sharp as Jesse or Annie.

I thought it was hilarious to hear Melissa complain how it “was like High School”. Guess she didn’t have any friends there either.

Totally a fan of Apprentice! What,s with giving this Jesse an “A”, for his last night,s juvenile behavior! Remember folks, this is a team effort! Jessie acted like a peeved 4 year old, that any businessman would fire in a minute, when that peeved withdrawal chopper showed up!The true justice came when Black,s team {?} won, and Juvi-Jesse Had to eat his crow sammitch on national trash TV……..which kinda fits, does it not?

Wowee what a show! That’s the way I like my drama—-on the tv screen while I sit in the calmness of my boring suburban life. I don’t get people commenting that reality tv is a waste of time. Aren’t wasting your time reading and commenting about it?

Anyway, Melissa really showed her a$$. I’m not sure if it all was an act or not. But if that is how Melissa & Joan Rivers behave in real life, it would explain a lot.

And yeah, Annie does strike me as being sneaky but then again, what would you expect from a champion poker player? It doesn’t mean she is Hitler, a Nazi, white trash, or one of “those” people with blood on their money.

But what those comments do mean is that Melissa & Joan Rivers are poor losers.

Melissa was fired for one reason. She interupted the Donald. Gald the whiny brat doesn’t know manners. Joan will be back and she and Annie face off in the finals with Melissa back to help Mom.

I used to feel sorry for Joan and Melissa when their husband/father committed suicide. But after seeing them on the Apprentice, I know why he did it. Could you imagine living with those two women? Can you imagine what Melissa’s ex-husband had to put up with? A whiny wife and a mother who hasn’t cut the cord. The funniest part of last nights episode was when Joan was berating Annie for just being a “poker player”. What is Joan? Did she cure cancer? Solve world hunger? She makes fun of people for a living…. I think in the mid evil times (and she was around), Joan would have been called a court jester. And what does her daughter do for a living? Still suckling at her mom’s tit after 40+ years–real admirable. If I were the Rivers team, I would be so embarrassed over their very tacky behavior that I would worry if there will be a backlash. Melissa especially, if Joan stops working whose will support her?

Brande: “She thinks we’re coercing against her.”
Annie: *confused* *lightbulb comes on* Conspiring… (I laughed)
Brande: I did not for-goo….
Melissa and Donald: smirk

Brande may be pretty but she really is dumber than a box of rocks. Sometimes I swear English is her second language.

Leave the dead husband alone, You don’t know anything but what your seeing on TV. As if you don’t know this is all staged for ratings. The death of someone doesn’t mean their gone you know… but what comes around goes around so I wouldn’t be caught saying what you idiots are saying over a TV show. You all wish you could out cap Joan on a bad day.
\ Joan is known for put downs as much as the Don is known for his rug…. so stooping so low as to go after a put down about someone’s suicide is rather ghoulish and uncompassionate. I only hope I’ll kick some A_s like Joan when I’m 74…,

An utterly worthless Mother and her equally worthless brat kid storm home. Joan and Melissa Rivers represent precisely what is wrong with our crass culture. The Face Lift Queen and her Steven Tyler look-alike crybaby head into the sunset. Thank God!!

I offer no opinion on who should have been fired yesterday, however there is no place for defamation of character/slander at any time. Even “Reality TV” does not give that right. Those Rivers women should be made to apologize to Brande and Annie on TV, or face the consequences of a lawsuit.

Brande is an idiot and I can’t wait until Annie stabs her in the back. The only reason Trump didn’t fire Brande is because he wants to get it on with her. Joan Rivers is 75 years old! I hope I have that much energy and spunk at her age! And what is so wrong with a mother and daughter having each other’s backs? I think anyone else would bad mouth their family just to get ahead.

Brande’s not gonna get upset when she loses to Annie because she understands that THIS IS A GAME & THEY ARE GETTING MONEY FOR THEIR CHARITIES!!!

The only ones who will leave this show with less fans then they had before are Joan & Melissa Rivers and maybe even Clint Black.

Melissa and Joan have no CLASS whatsoever! She is so emotionally immature. She really hides behind her mother, and lets her career ride on the fact that she is Joan Rivers daughter. Next time she introduces herself she should just say “Hi do you know Joan Rivers? She’s my mommy”. I’m embarrassed for her!

I dont understand why some people on here are trash talking about the Rivers personal family incidents….like the suicide, the divorce, or the plastic sergery. Those incidents had absolutly nothing to do with the show. What can be said though is that Joan did talk alote, but then again thats what shes famous for. Melissa should not have been fired, Donald came up with a very weak reason at the time to fire Melissa. No she did not bring in the most money, but she is a hard worker and does all asked of her to her fullest. Thats why she is a sucsessful producer. Annie does manipulate Brande, she even said in one of her aired confessionals how she plays people. Brande wanted Melissa out both her and Annie, thats why when asked who she would eliminate: she did not say herself, of course and she did not say Annie, who by the way was responsible for everything and then by the way got all pissy when Melissa wanted the group to have equal credit. Annie is a 2 -face, its very plain to see. Brande should at least have felt some remorse for Melissa at the moment of Melissa’s firring, for throwing Melissa under the bus when all fault was on Annie and herself, now thats pretty shaddy game play even if they proclaim “charity” to make themselves seem good intentioned. Melissa and Joan were not acting immature, shoot! They were scorned, everything Joan said was true, and the only reason Donald kept Brande was because he likes her. Hes even stated in previous episodes how he once hit on her, but she rejected him. Yes it did seem like it was all Joan doing the tash talk, but I’ll put my money on: there was alote of editing done,…there always is. But I do not think Melissa i a whiney person, she was just pissed off !!! Simple as that, and if i was thrown under the bus but 2 people who have obviously keeping me on the outside,….I’d be mad as hell also. SO TO KEEP IT REAL… ITS JUST NICE TO SEE THAT JOAN AND MELISSA DONT CHANGE THE WAY THEY ARE JUST COZ THEY’RE ON TV! THEY’RE REAL UNLIKE ANNIE AND BRANDE WHO ACT ALL SELF-RICHOUS.

Hey everyone…Its just a Game!!!! The producers promote conflict and they have everyone hooked–this is what they want and we feed the fire —the real winners–Trump, The Advertisers, The Producers, & NBC.

I’m LOVING this second season of Celebrity Apprentice! I personally am rooting for Joan Rivers or Jesse James, the two contestants that have been winning the challenges based on their talents and skills. Yeah, Annie Duke has raised money but she is a “viper” (I won’t judge whether she’s the other things or not) in terms of her manipulations, etc. I don’t believe the ends justify the means, and if the means (manipulating people in a negative manner) is shady, then I could care less how much money she raises. It goes against the very spirit and mission of charity work, hello Annie, this isn’t a poker game!

well ive been following the episodes very keenly … im not frm usa and dont know these celebrities so for me they r nw and normal ppl whome im not biast about… so when i 1st look at them the impression that comes to me is that i hate both the rivers… i think they r bth egoistic and they seem to hav made a pact befr coming to teh show that they r goin to make sure that they stay and kick everyone out .. i sp hate the old bitch sp after the way she abused annie… it shows her character to say the least … melissa seems to be a spoilt brat who cannot defent herself and needs her mom to do her wrk … i can say that bccause in one episode she askes her mom to step in and she shamelessly does.. they two cannot handle evn a ltl criticism which is sad.. i feel sorry for them both…
