A recent CBS poll has Rush Limbaugh at a 19 percent favorability rating, though 47% of Republicans like him. Overall, 40 percent gave him an unfavorable rating. 41 percent were noncommittal.
-I’m interviewing Jimmy Fallon Saturday. The new talk show host is in Atlanta to host an Alliance Theatre fundraising gala that evening. Is there anything you’d like me to ask him? Email me at rho@ajc.com.
-I finally got a hold of Rick Caffey, who oversees WAOK-AM, and the deal with Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine has not been finalized yet. He said to check in again Monday. I’m sure the fact they dumped Rob Wilson and Rick Joyner already means it’s just a question of ironing out the contractual details.
-Obama disrupting the TV schedules AGAIN is annoying the broadcast networks, who lose millions of dollars each time he does it and disrupts viewing patterns.
-Carolyn Hennesy, author and star on “General Hospital,” is touring through Atlanta to celebrate the release of the third book in her series for children. Hennesy will be in Atlanta on April 14 and 15, and will be doing a public signing at Barnes and Noble in Alpharetta at 7pm on the 15th.
-The “Top Chef” tour is coming back to Atlanta. The date: May 4. Location: TBA. Who will be there? It depends. (Sorry for the lack of details but I’ll provide more when I get them.) Last year, two chefs including local man Richard Blais (season four) and Casey Thompson (season three) did a demonstration at Piedmont Park for a very intimate audience of 40 people in a little RV-type set up. Hopefully, they’ll open it up a bit more this year around and allow more people to meet them.
-NBC’s “The Chopping Block,” which features two Atlantans (Panya Rice and Michael Holmes), did even worse its second week, pulling in just 3.5 million viewers, down from 3.8 million. The Cancellation Ax is coming to chop this “Hell’s Kitchen” -like show down very soon, I’d fathom.
-Atlanta’s Steve Harvey, heard locally on Majic 107.5, is going to be on “Oprah” Monday (4 p.m. WSB) to promote his book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”
-Kicks 101.5 is in the middle of its annual St. Judes Careathon. Donate here.
-I’ve heard rumblings Rock 100.5’s the Regular Guys might go syndicated in other markets as early as next month. Both Larry Wachs and the boss man John Dickey categorically denied this was happening though both said it’s a possibility and a desire. We’ll see. This won’t fundamentally change the show because they don’t do that much local stuff per se though it might mean they’ll have to set aside separate time to promo Southside Steve’s appearances.
-Georgia Public Broadcasting had some layoffs today, including the radio GM Bob Houghton and Program Manager Rob Maynard. I don’t have all the details but this economy is hitting non-profits, too.
-Brett Martin, the former Fox “Good Day Atlanta” Road Warrior, continues to work his weekly rapping “skills.” Chuckle or cringe:

Who cares if MY President is BLACK! I voted for him! Biggest mistake I ever made! My concern is that MY President is an incompetent socialist.
Tee says “Obama has only been in office 2 months”. That’s the frightening part. The budget he has proposed will bankrupt the country. When told this by the Congressional Budget Office, what did Obama say? “I don’t care, I want my programs!
Obama is 4 years and done. The country may not survive Obama’s CHANGE.
As for Tee and Amy, who think it’s so great to have a BLACK President, just remember, he’s a HALF BLACK President raised by white people. Nothing like a good white upbringing to bring the best out of a half black child.
