FAU prof says Sandy Hook massacre may have been gov’t conspiracy
A cogent argument against tenure, from Florida’s Sun-Sentinel newspaper:
A communication professor known for conspiracy theories has stirred controversy at Florida Atlantic University with claims that last month’s Newtown, Conn., school shootings did not happen as reported — or may not have happened at all.
Moreover, James Tracy asserts in radio interviews and on his memoryholeblog.com. that trained “crisis actors” may have been employed by the Obama administration in an effort to shape public opinion in favor of the event’s true purpose: gun control.
“As documents relating to the Sandy Hook shooting continue to be assessed and interpreted by independent researchers, there is a growing awareness that the media coverage of the massacre of 26 children and adults was intended primarily for public consumption to further larger political ends,” writes Tracy, a tenured associate professor of media history at FAU and a former union leader.
Here’s hoping the good professor has no plans for a Connecticut vacation anytime soon.

For the record….
Cynthia McKinley never said that the WTC attacks never occurred or that it was orchestrated by the US Government. She said that George W. had knowledge of an imminent attack using planes as weapon and that he did nothing. That turned out to be a proven fact!

An unknown professor at a little known institution makes utterances so outrageous that they garner attention; which will indubitably lead to paid speaking engagements with the right-wing media and fringe groups; and then who knows what. I will honor his inalienable right of freedom of speach. It allows him to show how stupid someone with a PhD can be…..well, he was a union leader so that has been proven already.

Look at the evidence before you condemn one as crazy, lack of interest in pursuing the truth is pervasive in our media, as much so as portraying incidents in the way which you want the public to perceive them in order to meet your goals. Mr. Galloway has made a living out of doing exactly this, yet some people take his words as the perfect truth, while others denounce them as falsehoods.
If everyone critically examined this incident at Sandy Hook, they would have questions as well; apparently, it’s easier to let the news network choose what items you should be examining and close your mind to other ideas.

I get so tired of people saying Obama “refused to show us his birth certificate.” Please show us any sort of law or documentation that requires the POTUS, whoever he or she may be, to show the American public his/her birth certificate. The mere fact that Obama was able to run for office proves that he’s a citizen, but it’s obvious that birthers don’t operate in the realm of reality. They should feel right at home with this crackpot professor.

Actually, I had read this same idea just a few days after the shooting. Several bloggers and websites have similar arguments…discussing the inaccuracies in the media’s coverage of the incident – two shooters that turned into one, Adam Lanza; how he gained access to the school; how at first his mother was a teacher there then she had no connection at all. Many people are trying to link the CT shooting to the one in CO. Some folks are also trying to connect both to the LIBOR scandal. So, this guy is not the first and he certainly isn’t the only one who believes that there is some type of conspiracy involved.

No the “Truth”, facts did not bear out what Cynthia suggested. There was no proof G W Bush ignored any warnings of a specific threat. No matter what you Bush haters say, that is not true. Cynthia was rewarded for her foolish, irresponsible statements, and slapping the DC cop, by being voted out by her constituents. Additionally, I think it is very unfair to label anyone, because of their political affiliation, Democrat or Republican, a nut job…Both parties have value and they also have enormous problems. We all must work together if we are ever going to have any hope of solving our country’s issues. I think most of us have a quite a bit in common – more so than we realize – if we would just let go of Democrat-this vs. Republican-that.

This guy is just one of many crazy people running around in our society. For example, @Bronc62, who posted that there was some conspiracy to hush up a story about a couple of people getting shot in San Antonio because one of the people doing the shooting was an off duty deputy. Look, any story about people getting shot is an arguement for getting rid of guns and the fact that he heard about it is proof that it wasn’t “hushed up” by some sinister conspiracy. The sad thing is that an event where only two people get shot isn’t newsworthy. It’s no big deal anymore. Of course, I’d be a crazy person if I thought that Americans would ever have their hundreds of millions of guns taken away. The cow is way too far out of the barn for that to happen.

After reading the sun article, it appears the professor is taking this position as an academic exercise of asking ” what if this was not caused by what we are told, but was really caused by Y”, and he is taking this devil’s advocate position without any true evidence or support, and in total disregard of the extreme sensitivity of the actual murders of 20 innocent child/people. He mentions a possible “training exercise”, With no regard to providing anything that would indicate a training exercise. Almost the same as saying ” no the earth does not revolve around the sun….it bounces off a black hole and Kim Kardashians back side. And then saying ” I know I have no evidence to prove this, but because I ask what if, it now becomes a theory of what actually happened and should be investigated and debated because it is coming from a college professor.
20 people dead in this tragedy. this professor should spend his time doing something more constructive then stirring up nonsense.

Well, if this isn’t the worst million tons of salt on a wound I don’t know what is. There is no respect for families and friends of the children and staff that lost their lives that day. What a tragedy to even think something like that could occur and if it were true (which I believe it is not) anyone planning, thinking, authorizing and actually participating in such an event should be punished by a life sentence without parole. No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President
The Constitution doesn’t offer up an explicit definition of “natural born citizen”, but even it did, you can clearly see that a person has to be a natural born citizen OR a citizen of the US to run for President. Bottom line: Obama qualifies, so all you birthers can exit stage left.
