PPP survey: 42% of Ga. Republicans would secede, Nathan Deal job approval at 37%

Who is PPP anyway? I heard their polls are not very accurate.I doubt very much 42% of Republicans would secede! A silly question, and a silly answer. And also think Deal’s approval rating somewhat above 37%,.Pretty much a waste of time and money poll. Come on !

Boy, that Google search can really be complicated, but I managed to figure out how to use it, to get the following answer for you from Wikipedia:

Even you should be able to distinguish red and blue on an election map, and see that the states with the hoighest education levels per capita and the highest income levels per capita are colored blue. Really? All you have to do is go to Congressional districts in Georgia and then pull SAT scores per HS and you will find on average the children of Democratic voters score way less on all standardized test then the children of Republican voters. Those are facts and can not be disputed.

I make over 100K a year, I am single with no children and I work every single day for what I have. It is miopic thinking such as your’s that cost Repubs the election. See the more you alienate people, the smaller the circle gets, and sooner or later those alienated outnumber those in the circle and become the majority…. If a state were to secede, they will have to give up nearly everything. Any military bases in the seceded states will have to be closed and all military personal will be relocated back to America, except for guards to monitor the new border. The Coast Guard will no longer be able to occupy the waters belonging to the seceded state (if applicable to their geography), so they will have to form their own Navy to protect their own boarders from foreign invaders, drug smugglers, illegal aliens, and terrorists.

U.S. passports will have to be turned over immediately, entry into the U.S. will require a new passport from the new country, and visas will need to be obtained for people staying in the U.S. for more than two weeks. Funding for highways, transportation, bridges, infrastructure, and education will undoubtedly will be cut entirely. Representatives to the U.S. Congress from the former states will be asked to leave Washington D.C. immediately. All U.S. business licenses will be revoked. The new country will suffer large amounts of unemployment because anybody working for the U.S. government (Federal Civil Service employees) within that state will be terminated, and since the FAA will no longer be running in their airports, all air traffic controllers will also be terminated. Anybody receiving payments for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Disability can reapply and the U.S. Congress will decide if foreigners are allowed to receive payments from the U.S. government (unlikely). Also to add insult to injury, the seceded state will probably have to pay their portion of the national debt before leaving.

Since the liberals have made our country into something that doesn’t resemble the US I grew up in and fought for and since we have allowed so many people into our country who do not recognize our holidays,do not speak our language,do not serve in the military I would love to move and grant them their wish that we would leave. But there is not a conservative Christian nation left to move to.But we will have a new home someday with Jesus and that fact keeps our spirits high and allows us to tolerate the liberals.

Secession would mean every person in that state on Social Security, Medicare, US government pension or insurance would not longer be receiving those checks and services. All the Federal offices and installations, Ft Stewart, etc, would also close down putting a ton of people out of jobs.

It will happen soon enough. Deal has turned down the expansion of Medicaid and Obamacare. Florida starts next month in drug testing welfare clients and when Georgia see all the moochers leaving that state it will not be long until we have the same law here. Dems will be going to NY, CA and IL in droves in the very near future.

South Carolina has the second highest percentage of African American voters, just behind Mississippi, and is approaching 50% of the SC electorate.

If just a few thousand AA families from Atlanta and nearby Charlotte moved to SC, then AAs could gain a governorship and two US Senate seats. (out of 100 total)

Secede and be self supporting. No federal funding for anything. Federally suported employment would go to other states. All defense contractors in the state would go elsewhere, Corps of Engineers activities in Georgia would cease. Drug interdiction would be state supported only. The state would pay for all transportatiion of illegal immigrants back to their home counties. Etc. The upsides? No federal taxes and no Obama.

Seems to me that we need to set up an array of Secession Exchanges. Namely, that when all those folks decide to ’self-secede’, there’ll be a Craiglist-like process where the rest of us can look over and then choose what of their stuff we would want. I know a bunch of em that have second homes, and even some cars, that they won’t be able to take with em. Actually, it’s probably more likely we’ll be able to do that – the secession thing – than when the ‘rapture’ comes.

As a life long Pub/Con, I would like to point out that those Pubs who said they would secede probably didn’t say that because of how unhappy they are with Obama’s re-election. They said it beause they are stupid . . . . really stoopid. They don’t have a clue about history or how American government works now, or about how homogenous we have become as a culture (I said homogenous, not “agreeable”) and as a nation, and how interdependent we all are on each other, coast to coast, because of the enormous advances in communications (the Internet) and transportation and air/rail/ cargo technology.

Shows you where the intelletual level stands in this party in Georgia — count on the Georgia Pubs for simple, I mean simpleton, answers to complex problems and issues. Once you get past “No more taxes, abortion, or illegal immigration, or jes good ol’ boys doin’ bidness under the Dome, and we don’t need any ethics reform” — in a political discussion — it is pretty much blank, deer in the headlights stares from there on out.

And wouldn’t it just be a hoot to watch them piss away Chambliss’s Senate seat. Here’s a guy trying to drag the party forward and come up with a bipartisan plan to get this economy going again (very complex issues for those trying to fix them instead of just comment on them), and of course he used the “T” word, and now he will be challenged. His opponents, who must have slept through the last election, think that going even harder right and being even more uncompromising will win the day. Who knows what they are thinking, or smoking? And probably, some know-nothing Christine O’Donnell type Tea Party conservative ideologue, who doesn’t understand the three branches of government, and has interesting things to say about rape and immigration, i.e. just lay back and enjoy it, you won’t get pregnant, and just deport them all, will get nominated — and next thing ya know, the Dems will have that seat back, just like they got them back in Delaware, Nevada, Missouri, and Indiana.

The King Roy years and the arrogant Dem dominance under the Gold Dome were infuriating, but you have to admit, this state was moving forward in those times, and it isn’t any more, and it hasn’t since What Me Worry? There are some great people and places in Georgia in addition to Atlanta. Savannah is beautiful and very cosmo, Madison is rich with history, folks in Perry, Waycross, Leesburg and other placers could not be nicer, Augusta has the secong highest high tech job growth in the nation over the past decade, etc.

Wish the enlightened lib transplants would recognize that a mjor reason the state is so RED (not entirely a bad thing IMO) is because of the million + RED voting transplant arch that runs from Powder Springs to Suwanee.

Anything you say has context.

Obama was saying that there are many smart and hard working people who don’t have their own business. He was also saying that if you do have a business, you had help, whether it was a good teacher as a student, a good parent, whatever, and that, for example, someone with a business didn’t build a public road or bridge that their business may use, in the course of business.

I’ve quoted it a few times, and in context, nothing he said was controversial. Someone with their own business didn’t build every single road they use, every bridge they cross, etc.

But, if you just dishonestly snip it here or there, you can make it sound any way you want.

Context matters. If you ignore it, you’re being purposefully dishonest to try to score points. Period.

The whole premise of the article is skewed because it counted Medicare and SS as revenues to the states. There is a great deal of retired people that leave the north and move to warmer climates as they age so those states will look like they receive the most money.

Prior to me taking office and assuming the reins during the greatest recession since the Great Depression (where unemployment was above 25%, mind you), the national debt can be attributed to THREE administrations–Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. Not to mention the top 10 states who receive government benefits are RED states…the Republicans really have you all fooled. It’s quite sad.

Ok, let Georgia, and the other states, succeed from the Union. The taxes on Tara will go sky high to fill the gap as to Federal funding of our state ( Interstates, infrastructure, and social programs). Georgia takes more than it contributes to the Federal government. Big win for the feds in terms of the fiscal cliff.

Fact: Bush raised debt from $5 trillion to $10 trillion in 8 years. Obama has raised debt from $10 trillion to $16 trillion in 4 years. Clinton raised Debt from $4 to $5 trillion in 8 years.

Thanks for proving my point. Bush II more than DOUBLED the national debt –not to mention, Bush’s policies bled over well into Obama’s years. Bush I increased the national debt by 56%, and Reagan TRIPLED the national debt. Clinton had a SURPLUS! You’re probably not too familiar with that term, being a Republcan’t and all. The national debt under Obama has been the slowest spending per GDP in history…not to mention, given the circumstances, increasing the national debt by 40% (yes, that’s what it is), is pretty good. Keep trying, though guys…this is fun!!

Also, let me let you in on a little secret Faux Noise probably didn’t tell you…the debt was raised so much since 2008 because of the greatest recession since the Great Depression…regardless, of who was in office, massive government spending would have ensued. Cleaning up the mess the Republican’ts left us with hasn’t been cheap, but we’re working it out.

Just another white man, with white problems, blaming the minorities. For example, you do realize that African Americans make up only 13% of the ENTIRE US POPULATION…actually, I doubt you do. Ignorance doesn’t have room for facts.

I understand those facts but I also know that African American are disproportionally are a higher % of the poor and disproportionally receive a higher % of total government benefits then their % of the population. With saying this then when there are more African Americans living in the south then any other region of the country then they would be less likely to be paying taxes as well and skew the state numbers.

General Lee chastised one of his students, while teaching at Washington College in Virginia, when the student made derogatory comments about General Grant in 1868. Robert E.
