After declaring U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss “theoretically vulnerable” this week, Public Policy Polling of North Carolina has run out the rest of its Georgia poll, with these highlights:
– Apparently bruised by bitter campaigns over transportation (lost) and charter schools (won), Gov. Nathan Deal’s job approval rating stands at 37 percent among voters – one reason why Deal, moving into his crucial third year as governor, needs a smooth and productive legislative session in January.
The PPP survey declares Deal to be vulnerable if Democrats are able to muster the right candidate in 2014 – a very large “if.” Some hypothetical match-ups: U.S. Rep. John Barrow, 44/40; Kasim Reed (never happen), 47/40; State Sen. Jason Carter, 46/38.
– Likewise, the fiscal cliff debate may be taking its toll on U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, whose approval rating also stands at 37 percent. But he isn’t up for re-election until 2016.
– Former President Jimmy Carter approve/disapprove rating stands at 55/38. President Barack Obama is at 46 percent approval, matching his Georgia ballot showing in November.
– Chipper Jones should consider politics. The retired Atlanta Braves third-baseman’s job approve/disapprove rating is 57/11.
– Georgia fans outnumber Georgia Tech groupies, 40/17. Which pushes Attorney General Sam Olens’ unfortunate Tweet of last week into irrelevancy.
– 70 percent of those polled thought a new stadium home for the Atlanta Falcons was unnecessary.
– 42 percent of Georgia Republicans said they would be willing to secede from the United States because of President Barack Obama’s re-election. A like number say they wouldn’t. From PPP spokesman Tom Jensen: “I doubt that many Republicans would really secede if they had the choice- not that many people are signing the secession petitions- but their willingness to say they would is a measure of how unhappy they are over the president’s reelection.”

I know you’re in a bubble and all, but Obama didn’t say people didn’t build their businesses. He said they didn’t build the roads and other infrastructure.
Your Republican buddies then took what he said, out of context (google what “out of context” means) and people like you ate it up, just like your masters trained you to do.
If you want to keep living in your own made up reality, do so. It makes you pathetic and sad, but hey, it’s a free country, until us libruuuuuls take away yer fridoms! Herp!

If obama would work on balancing the budget – and at least 10% could be cut from just unnecessary spending, plus his tax increases, then he would have accomplished something beneficial for the entire nation.

Thes GOP types, all Whites, talk secession without ever demanding that Gov. Deal nullify and Fedgov’s intrusive and illegal attacks against our citizen states rights.
They are ignorant losers who deserve it as bad as Obama is about to give it.

sadly for bush supporters, in 2007 the nation took in the highest tax revenue in our history, and still a republican could not balance the budget. even during most of the bush admin, when the economy was operating pretty well, bush and the repubs could not balance a budget. now, who is the biggest BSers out there? at least obama has an excuse – the economy – from mostly circumstances (housing collapse) beyond his control – has been lousy, so fed rev is down. I’m glad we are completley out of Iraq. Now, lets leave afghanistan and close about 25% of foreign military bases.

Fox pushes this idea that the nation leans middle right. but, stats indicate folks self identify as liberals, about 25%; conservatives, 35% and moderates, 40%. Sadly, many moderates are actually liberals who don’t like the association. I’d say at this point, the nation tilts middle left at the least – union workers, blue collar guys, blacks, single females, latinos. Repubs have a dwindling base of upper middle class folks, folks who hate abortion and like the 2nd amendment. luckily, most of these folks do live in rural areas where gov’t is cheap – so, their qualify of life is easier to maintain. oddly, although most want growth, big cities are not run efficiently – too much graft and free loaders.

obama is anti success and free enterprise. he likes wealth redistribution via a powerful central gov’t. socialism appears to have a strong hold on him. liberty sadly makes some winners, and others losers. those who self induce their poverty (crime, fornication, drug use, laziness) need to be prevented from living a life off the gravy train. how? limit assistance to 5 or 10 years max.

If Georgia were only left with its Democrats, CHAOS would result. Democrats run Dekalb County and its schools and have made the county a financial and education disaster. Democrats like to spend other people’s money but then don’t know what to do when the money runs out….
One day democrats in this country will have to learn. Just like the people in Greece are learning that ponzi schemes only work for so long.

We can’t sustain what our leaders have done. the key killer is global “free trade”. Only thing this is guaranteed to do is lower blue collar – union and non – wages. Instead of raising taxes to pay for the huge gov’t obama wants, he is OK borrowing the money / wealth we have transferred to China. It would be better to have import tariffs to force business to produce 85% of the things sold at Walmart in the USA – would increase retail costs, but make our economy healthier. also, make china poorer. I wish Obama could get green energy done – but, not imposing tariff protection on this “start up” industry just allows economic mercenaries like China to guillotine our nascent green energy industry. selah.

luckily for goldman sachs, Obama is an economic moron – otherwise, why allow Goldman to corner the oil futures market? If obama was economically savvy, he’d know if you put a dampner on oil futures speculation, the price of gas (despite our flurry of money printing) would fall – anywhere from 25 cent to a $1.00. It has done it before – right before TARP was passed by Goldman Sach’s former CEO.

Sure! Go ahead and secede. It worked out REALLY well the first time! And surprise! 70% are against the Falcons new stadium. Really is funny that when the Falcons had an outdoor stadium, they pitched a southern hissy fit to get a domed stadium. Now they have a perfectly good domed stadium that is probably not paid for in full and want an outdoor stadium, or a retractable roof stadium…Make up your mind! If the weather stays this warm in the late fall and winter, they won’t need a roof at all! Just rip the canvas one off the dome and save a fortune! At this rate, the Braves will need a new stadium in about four years. I don’t think so.
