Your daily jolt: An invitation to Allen West from the Ga. GOP

Though he has yet to concede, U.S. Rep. Allen West, a former Army lieutenant colonel and Republican firebrand, narrowly lost his re-election bid last week.

So what’s in the cards for the coastal Florida congressman after his lame-duck duties are done? Sue Everhart, chairman of the Georgia Republican party, said Monday she would love it if West, an Atlanta native and Grady High School grad, returned to his roots.

“I would be glad to have him come back to Georgia and at some point run here,” Everhart told my AJC colleague Daniel Malloy during a discussion about diversity within the Republican party. “I would certainly try to help him because he has done his job. The way he ran his race didn’t in any way interfere with the job he did. He ran as a Republican, a conservative Republican.”

Everhart called the one-term West “one of the finest congressmen this country’s ever had.”

Returns show that West’s Democratic challenger, Patrick Murphy, edged out the incumbent with a winning margin of less than 1 percent.

In a bid to shore up tea party support within Congress, Washington-based FreedomWorks on Monday endorsed U.S. Rep. Tom Price, R-Roswell, as chairman of the U.S. House Republican conference – the No. 4-ranking position in the chamber.

The tea party organization also backed U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, as chairman of the Republican Study Committee.

“It’s imperative that Republicans in Congress pick leaders like Tom Price with a demonstrated commitment to conservative economic policies that encourage job creation and economic growth,” said Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks. It’s notable that, while the organization cited Graves’ 91 percentile ranking on its legislative scorecard, no ranking was offered for Price.

House Republicans will vote on Wednesday.

Last week, Price offered up this video message to his fellow House Republicans. Many see the Georgia congressman underlining a difference between him and Speaker John Boehner – continued opposition to Obamacare:

***
The woman Republicans love to hate may be stepping down, the Washington Post reports this morning:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), who built and then lost the largest Democratic majority in a generation, is considering ending her historic 10-year reign as Democratic leader after the second disappointing election in a row for her caucus.

… Some Democratic insiders expect her decision by Wednesday, after Congress returns to try to forge a deal to avert a massive set of automatic tax increases and spending cuts.

***
Meanwhile, the New York Times reports that Democrats are about to filch a Republican idea:

With both parties positioning for difficult negotiations to avert a fiscal crisis as Congress returns for its lame-duck session, Democrats are latching on to an idea floated by Mitt Romney to raise taxes on the rich through a hard cap on income tax deductions.

…The cap — never fully detailed by Mr. Romney — is similar to a longstanding proposal by Mr. Obama to limit income tax deductions to 28 percent, even for affluent households that pay a 35 percent rate. But a firm cap of around $35,000 would hit the affluent even harder than Mr. Obama’s proposal, which has previously gotten nowhere in Congress.

After a big election, there is a tendency even among journalists to curl up into a fetal position and shut down. But the little things – life’s small gifts – keep you going. This, for instance:

Human Rights Watch is pleased to invite you to the launch of a new report, “Losing Humanity: The Case against Killer Robots,” on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Washington, DC.

Three of the counties election officials in his district gave election to his opponent is last thing , I heard. Big outside money like Crossroads /Rove, American Prosperity/Koch Bros and other super pacs tried to buy voters for West, but Repub, independent and democrats said no to right wing tea party West, he is hanging on trying to collect more money. I do not know how much money his buddies will give to loser, he had better go write a book like gingrich. He probably will do better in Miss. than Fl or Ga who are not all tea party nuts.

I think the Georgia repub party would do very well with Mr West as an addition. With all his ignorance and divisive comments, he certainly would enhance the state GOP. And the fact he was drummed out of the military would fit right in with the local GOPers here.

We need more Allen Wests and less Nancy Pelosis.

In other news, Obama supporters are “occupying” street corners and holding signs. (It’s also a good career choice.)

‘YOU” and Allen West are batcrapcrazy and THAT IS

WHY OBAMA WON.

1) He tells Debbie Wasserman Schultz “You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!” *shrugs* He has no respect for ANY women, so no news there.

2) In April 2011, West told a conservative women’s conference that liberal women “have been neutering American men and bringing us to the point of this incredible weakness — to let them know that we are not going to have our men become subservient.”

3) “And I think that we also should be censoring the American news agencies which enabled [Julian Assange] to do this and also supported him and applauding him for the efforts.” West later claimed he only called for “censuring” the media. Either way, it would be a First Amendment violation.

4) West had a 22-year career in the military, but left after he abused an Iraqi detainee: “This is it. I’m going to count to five again, and if you don’t give me what I want, I’m going to kill you.” He then fired a shot “a foot” over the detainee’s head.

The man’s certifiable.

If the GOP, be same within Georgia or the rest of this nation want to damage themselves and their supporters any more, by all means allow the purely self serving, lying, scheming, conniving, raging megalomaniac and RINO Allen West to once again set up his snake oil wagon in Georgia, or anywhere else outside of Florida.

The “man” is a raging puss filled boil of disgusting narcissism and tertiary self loathing who, via his psychotic ruthless bent IS all about one thing and one thing only………….Himself. And the public see through this lying fraud inclusive of this ultra-conservative. Yes, that is correct. I am ultra, ultra-conservative and I clearly saw through this aforementioned from the start.
Now, if only enough other conservative apologists would do the same regarding West, as well liberals would do the same regarding Marxist Obama we could possibly turn this about to permanently explode nation around.

Allen West is SUFFERING FROM SELF HATRED.

He HATES his blackness; therefore, he HATES his

mother, his father, his race.

HE IS A WANNA BE.

But HE NEVER WILL BE one of them.

I bet the CONS call him the “N” word behind his back.

Great Idea. I’d love to see him leave our district in Florida which he just jumped to because it was obvious he would lose his original district. Now that he lost here, maybe GA can find him a place where he is loved.

@Shar — AW, military conduct am aware of. His actions were justified in order to save lives. dealing with radical movements in mideast can be atrocious. It is sole responsibilty for a ranking officer to keep his unit alive. And if that is what AWest had to do. So be it. Radical adherents in battle are not to be trusted, they will use women/children as human shields for cover. More can be said, but you get the drift. About muslims, that is a controversial issue. Much can be said on this as well, however, will not elaborate. But I do know this, the issue itself draws much attention, especially the Muslim movements such as CAIR, and others. AWest had issue with them months ago. As I said in previou comment, AWest his voice speaks for people like me. I personally done extensive research and indepth homework on all issues if you will….

Allen West is a big, big, big mouth in a suit. He certainly is not an asset to the Republican Party. Sort of reminds me of the Akin nut who ran for the Senate in Missouri.

Allen West is a pure fool and I would love for him to remain in Florida. “Everhart called the one-term West “one of the finest congressmen this country’s ever had.” If this is the thinking of the Georgia GOP, they will become extinct none too soon.
