Your only recourse after a 35,000-vote defeat: Recount!

What do you do if you lose by 35,023 votes? If you’re Republican Mark LaJoye, who was defeated in the Muscogee County sheriff’s race on Tuesday by Democratic incumbent John Darr, you ask for a recount.

From Chuck Williams and the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer:

Reached this morning, LaJoye said representatives of his campaign were talking with Director of Elections and Registrations Nancy Boren about a recount. He would have to request it before the results are certified by the Board of Elections and Registrations, which is scheduled to happen at a 4:30 meeting today. Two LaJoye representatives met with Boren Thursday afternoon, Boren confirmed.

“Good gracious,” was Darr’s initial response to a possible recount. “I don’t even know what to say to that.”

Clearly, somebody has evidence of 35,023 hanging chads. Wait – electronic voting doesn’t produce chads. Clearly, somebody has evidence of 35,023 badly misinformed voters.

Who cares! We are $16.3 trillion in debt, our Libyan ambassador has been murdered, twenty million illegal aliens wander around the country and Jim Galloway can only talk about a recount of the Muscogee County sheriff’s race. What the hell has happened to this once-great paper?

WP — I’ll give you that the old girl’s lost a step since Lewis Grizzard passed, but — seriously? It’s not like the AJC did a six-part expose on the Muscogee County Republican Party. Take a deep breath, and enjoy your Friday.

Democracts , stick together, keep registering more democrats.. Remember Michelle said vote in every election for school board, county commissioners.sheriff, all local state , federal officer. Veterans . teachers, others, what about running for gov., or local jobs, senate, house. You can start registering voters today , set up bank account to get money to run/set it up legal papers, Educate your voters, make up list of what opponent/ person has voted for , videos of what they say, do research on them. c span has a lot of information on votes, hearings, etc. All Republicans in senate and house voted for Ryan Budget 2011 which cut 17 billion on veterans program[more veterans, Iraq, Afgan.] ,[ change medicare to voucher , increase costs for seniors , about 6000], cut 35% from medicaid which pays for healthcare for children of unemployed/low paid workers, poor and cuts nursing home care for seniors, cuts food stamps, school lunches, education etc. Then Republicans took 4.8/5 trillion dollars of money to give wealthy a tax cut from cuts on veterans, seniors, unemployed/low paid workers/poor. If you are not a millionaire, work hard to elect some democrats. If you get a few minutes , watch c-span, listen to horses mouth U. S. Senators or U. S. House of Representatives.. You can also get them on computer or satellite radio.
