Competition is fierce in the gun business.
You no doubt have heard about the Powder Springs City Council’s recent approval of an alcohol license for a couple developing an indoor shooting range in west Cobb County.
Apparently, this is an idea whose time has come. Just a little bit further up the Northwest Corridor, state Rep. Sean Jerguson, R-Woodstock, owns Hi-Caliber, a firearms retail outlet and shooting range.
The state lawmaker has paired with a Mexican restaurant in a can’t-miss Group On offer: $39 for a session with automatic weapons, an appetizer and margaritas for two. That’s an $87.68 value, people, including two 20-round boxes of ammunition.
For all you enemies of the Second Amendment, safety can be found in the fine print:
Limit 1 per person, may buy multiple as gifts. Must be 21 or older. Must redeem for gun rental before redeeming at Tacos & Beer Mexican Restaurant. Valid only for rental of M16 machine guns.
Remember: Shoot, then drink.

This would be a great place for rogers/graves to get a big loan and open up a no-tell motel.

You anti-gun Atlanta liberals still trying to take our guns away again, huh? Well we’re ready for you this time. We were caught flat footed back in 1993 and suffered for 10 years with your “assault” weapons ban. No more, if anyone even sneezes the phrase gun control down at the legislature they’ll wish they hadn’t. Don’t believe me just ask Debra Maggart from Tennessee who was warned but chose to ignore the warning.

I know its fun to mock but why the phobia and air of superiority? You can’t preach acceptance of all under the rainbow and then belittle an entire group.
Sorry but put a bunch of boys together and they will soon be playing some kind of shooting game and they all know how to make a machinge gun noise. An automatic weapon in a safe controlled environment – go let your inner kid loose instead of simply blasting things on the video screen.

So many people seem to have reading comprehension problems. The Groupon deal isn’t “mixing guns and alcohol.” It is going to a range, then going to a restaurant and having drinks. And something tells me that state law is going to kick in with the gun range in Powder Springs. The state law that says basically that you can’t mix guns and alcohol. Also, you act like this is the first time people have ever had the opportunity to drink after shooting (last I checked, if you were old enough to drink there weren’t any laws that stopped you from having a drink after you went shooting), but I guess that is to be expected from people that cringe and run at the thought of anyone but the police having a gun.

Current GA State law. So what’s the problem?
O.C.G.A. 16-11-120 The Georgia firearms and weapons act.
Possession and/or discharge of a firearm while under the influence
It is against the law to be in possession of firearm while engaged in hunting and fishing activities or discharge a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or any drug or any combination of alcohol and any drug to the extent that it is unsafe for the person to discharge such firearm except in the defense of life, health, and property;
It is also against the law to discharge a firearm while engaged in any shooting activity while under the influence of alcohol or any drug or any combination of alcohol and any drug.
It is NO defense to violation of this law even if you are legally entitled to use such a drug (prescription). (16-11-134, 27-3-7)

1. Liberals are not afraid of guns, they are afraid of some conservatives (Dick Cheney) that have them. 2. Liberals may shot they mouths off, while conservatives shoot themselves in the foot.
3. Why do conservatives run from the Dixiecrat right wing militia, since they are about the only ones following the strict interpretation of the 2nd amendment? We all agree that it is because they are bat-crap crazy!

Anyone can go to any gun range in Georgia today, and shoot, and then go and have a drink. There is nothing new here, except the idiocy shown by some of the posters in the blog.
The only “gotcha” with this situation is that these will be on the same site, so owners of the range will have to prevent those who drink in the restaurant, and not allow them back for more shooting afterword… something that stand alone firing ranges don’t have to worry about

Wow, the comments here really show not only the blind idiocy of the liberal left, but the pure stupidity of it as well. The groupon clearly states you have to shoot at the range, then go have the drinks. How is that mixing guns and alcohol at all?
Please learn to read before opening your mouths or typing.
and BTW, rednecks usually don’t shoot each other. They look for mentally challenged liberals since who better to shoot at than someone you know won’t have a gun. Oh sorry, the criminals in the cities beat the rednecks to that one. Guess the rednecks will have to keep using theirs for hunting and other LEGAL purposes as much as the brain dead left would like everyone to believe otherwise.

Why is it that the Liberals can argue that we need to grant citizenship to illegal aliens who have already broken the law by being here, but seem to find it necessary to argue illogically against an activitiy that is illegal and is also bringing a new business into the community? A new business means more people working, more taxes being generated for the state and local community and probably more jobs for the residents.
By the way, I would feel much safer having dinner and a drink at an establishment that is frequented by legal gun owners and shooters than some of those places in Midtown or South Metro.

Why doesn’t Georga at least require a literacy test before printing off concealed carry permits? It shouldn’t be qualification enough that your aren’t yet a felon. Many of the CCW gun toter class are so dumb and impulsive to be a threat to themselves and theirs and ours.
I’m all for regulated gun ownership and supervised gun play, but these over-the-top elitist GOP Tea Party city boy frauds who want a government so small and law enforcement so unfunded as to lead to anarchy need to be called out. I don’t know any gun owner guys or gals who waste time with the NRA…they are a corporate funded group that is shrill and shilling for the GOP frauds.

So many people just don’t get it. You’re not mixing guns and alcohol. You can only drink when you’re done shooting. I’m not sure what’s so difficult to understand about that.
And what’s the big deal? If you don’t want to do it, don’t do it. Nobody’s forcing you to show up, putting a gun and a drink in your hand and making you drink and shoot. Nobody’s even *permitting* such a thing.
I guess it just doesn’t sound as outrageous and sensational if you bother to tell the truth.
