CNN’s Candy Crowley: Mitt Romney ‘right in the main’ about Libya

The most dramatic moment in Tuesday night’s debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney came during a heated discussion of Libya, when moderator Candy Crowley of CNN intervened and became a third voice in the contest.

Here’s the transcript, courtesy of Politico.com:

ROMNEY: I — I think interesting the president just said something which — which is that on the day after the attack he went into the Rose Garden and said that this was an act of terror.

OBAMA: That’s what I said.

ROMNEY: You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack, it was an act of terror.

It was not a spontaneous demonstration, is that what you’re saying?

OBAMA: Please proceed governor.

ROMNEY: I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.

OBAMA: Get the transcript.

CROWLEY: It — it — it — he did in fact, sir. So let me — let me call it an act of terror…

OBAMA: Can you say that a little louder, Candy?

CROWLEY: He — he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take — it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that.

Soon after the debate was over, Crowley’s colleagues at CNN questioned her about the exchange:

Said Crowley:

”I knew the president had said ‘These acts of terror won’t stand,’ or whatever the whole quote was. Right after that, I did turn around and said [to Romney], ‘But you were totally correct that they spent two weeks telling us that this was about a tape, and that there was a riot outside the Benghazi complex, which there wasn’t.’

“So [Romney] was right in the main. I just think he picked the wrong word.”

Republicans this morning are pointing to these paragraphs from a Sept. 20 report on the CNN website:

The White House, for the first time Thursday, declared the attack that killed Stevens and three other people a terrorist attack.

“It is, I think, self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney, speaking to reporters on Air Force One.

Here’s what Obama said in the Rose Garden the day after he learned that J. Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other diplomatic personnel had been killed:

“Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those both civilian and military who represent us around the globe. No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.

“Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

Candy Crowley should be fired and brings shame to all bias reporting. Her behaviour confirms everything everyone already assumes about all the journalists smoking the Obama pipe. I’m disgusted. There is no integrity in television journalism.

The Presidents in a fix now. If he truly “meant” that the act at the consulate was an act of “terror” when he spoke in the Rose Garden, then why did he continue to say for the next few weeks it had nothing to do with terror and was all about a film? It’s obvious the President was referring to acts of terror in general and was saying nothing about the action that killed Americans. Read the whole statement in context with the proceeding paragraph.

“”I knew the president had said ‘These acts of terror won’t stand,’ or whatever the whole quote was”

That’s not what Obama said. The part where she says “whatever the whole quote was” proves it. Obama never called it an act of terror and instead blamed a video that no one had ever heard of. Libya is Obama’s Watergate.

Romney was not only debating Obama but Candy as well. She constantly interrupted Romney & gave Obama more time & furthered Obama’s lie about Libyia. She should have kept her mouth shut until she had all the facts. Poor journalism, which is getting to be common-place with CNN.

This article is an exact repeat of what she said last night. She basically said last night that they were both right: that Obama acknowledged this as an act of terror, and that the administration spent over a week telling us there was a protest in front of the consulate.

Anyone citing this as an example of media bias, or calling for Crowley’s head, maybe you just need to pay more attention to what’s being said.

It wasn’t an act of terror. It was an assassination attempt. An act of terror requires that people be afraid. I’m not afraid of a bunch of dead-enders on the other side of the world.

It’s a made-up debate about something that even Republicans admit is something like 8th or 9th on the list of things that matter for this election.

On the other hand, it was funny to watch Romney’s face when he realized he fell into a trap of his own making.

I am excited for Romney to jumpstart our economy and I believe he is the right man for the job. That said, it is inappropriate to name call and call Candy “fatty” and Obama “Obozo”. They are very educated, smart and articulate people that I happen to disagree with. I dislike that Candy gave Obama 3 more minutes total time than Romney and that she didn’t allow Romney to talk past time but did allow Obama. I don’t appreciate bias in a debate of this magnitude. I also don’t appreciate Candy acting as debate ‘fact checker’ rather than moderator. I don’t think she did a very good job but I do think that she was trying very hard to take control of the debate rather than be overrun by the candidates which was the take on the first debate. I hope that the next moderator can do the job of the moderator and if one candidate go’s over the other candidate gets equal amount of time overall. May the best man win. And that would be Romney :-)

First, Romney blew the opportunity to make the point on Libya. You cannot say that the President did not say something when immediately after the debate every program covering the debate shows the tape of Obama calling it an act of terror.

Romney knew the question would be raised. All he had to do was prepare an answer and he wins the point. If he had simply said “no comment” he would have been better off.

And the next debate is on foreign policy only.

“they(the press) make sure he gets a moderator who can lie for him.”

The next moderator is Bob Schieffer of CBS and he has selected the following topics:

“Subject to possible changes because of news developments, here are the topics for the October 22 debate, not necessarily to be brought up in this order:

America’s role in the world

Candy disgraced women and herself last night.. Don’t you folks get it? She was NEVER suppose to give her opinion at all last night.. She let “her emotions” get in the way of being a moderator and keeping her mouth shut, which was her job … Also, she had to “study up” on Libya..? Really, unless you have been living under a rock you know exactly what the Obama camp did and said about the attacks.. they constantly referred to the “terrible video” and the fact that these attacks were in response to that.. She and the rest of the liberal media, shouldn’t have to “study up” on that.. And folks the “white house” camp was watching the attacks in “real time” while it was happening.. this is a fact and they knew from the very moment it happened that it was NOT about the VIDEO… but Obama plays “hurt and insulted” when Romney “suggests” he used this for political gain.. Good lord .. The Obama camp is so use to never having to answer to the liberal media about anything….. never being challenged that they continue the lies making fools of all who follow like lambs to the slaughter..

The debate shows the importance of the moderator. Jim Lehrer was an advantage for Romney. Candy Fatwah was an advantage for Obozo. Maybe we need a robotic voice over moderator, and a timed mic which will shut off at 2 minutes. That way no candidate can drone.

Clearly, though, with Candy Fatah’s help, the debate was a mauling by Obozo on poor Romney. It was a pummelling for the ages. Romney had to eat his late dinner last night through a straw. His jaw is wired shut. OMG the humanity.

In reference to the Libya situation.
I wonder what is wrong with people. Do they expect our goverment to have the correct answer immediately after an act of terror occurs? Do they expect to for the government to say I’m sorry we do not know what happened? People, particularly republicans, think that we know what the terrorist next move is.. that is absurd!. Do not make this a political situation, we are better than that. Let’s concentrate on getting those SOBs that perpetrate this act and bring them to justice that’s how we should remember the ones that were killed. Not by what the President or his associates said immediately after the attack. Think about the families of those that were killed.

Then the head of his intellignece (General Petraus) did not speak or confirm or deny anything………. ( i wonder why)
then Obama and Clinton kept saying it was the film,, the film they stated it was not an act of terrorism even though many newsreports and internet postings stated it was a terriost attack.
then 2 weeks later they said it was a terrorist attack only after the whole world new………….. slow on that intel it seems.

I have a pretty good memory. When this initially happened, it was being reported that the video caused the protesting across the middle east, and based on the initial information they were receiving, the protest in Benghazi was hijacked by militants who used it as an excuse to raid the consulate. At this point, no one knew there was video footage that showed no protesters were there. I am sick of everyone on all sides speaking before the investigation is completed. When there is a crime committed locally, the authorities release very little information because of the ongoing investigation and idea that releasing too much will compromise the case when the time comes to prosecute someone. Mitt Romney jumped the gun in an attempt to get his gotcha moment and said a bunch of misinformed (I’m being nice here) things. The president fell into the trap and felt the need to defend himself instead of just saying we are investigating. If this was not an election year, this would have been investigated accordingly and we would have gotten the info once the investigation was complete. Yes, I am going to go there. Bush started a war based on faulty information that just concluded after 10 YEARS PEOPLE!! I wish politicians would just shut up until they actually know what they are talking about. We would have a lot less noise if they did!

Or how about “Grow up child”. or “You aren’t smart are you?” or “Please take remedial english.” It’s kinda hard to refute just plain smarta$$ comments.

I know one I can refute.

Average unemployment rate under Bush was 4.6%???

The unemployment rate when Bush took office was 4.2% (how convienent!) It was never that low from that point on. A year later it was 5.7%. Hmmmm. Oh wait. Are you going to say that wasn’t his fault? That’s right. It’s Barney and Franks!

From Sept ‘01 to Aug ‘05, it never got below 5.0 and from Dec ‘01 until March ‘04 it ranged from 5.7 to 6.3. The last 10 months of his presidency, it went from 5.0 to 7.8.

For 20 months of his presidency, it was between 4.2 and 4.6. For 77 months it was between 4.7 and 7.8. That uncludes 63 months of between 5.0 and 7.8

And you say his AVERAGE unemployment rate under Bush was 4.6%??? So, so easy to refute and to just call you out the liar you are. Please, that was too easy. Oh that’s right. You probably don’t believe that statistics from BLS.

Sorry that I can’t refute any of your name calling and smarta$$ comments. But I’ll work on that. In the meantime, please send the link of our amazing “4.6% average unemployment under Bush”

First off, the President did call it an act of terror in the Rose Garden. Parse it anyway you want, but he said it. His speech was about the attacks in Benghazi and the men who died. He, at no time in that speech, mentioned the video. So, once again, in a speech about the Benghazi attack he called in an act of terror.

Secondly, for those who hapr on the request for security that was denied prior to the attack, those requests were for extra security at the American embassy in Tripoli, NOT for the consulate in Benghazi. Putting extra security in Tripoli would have accomplished nothing, since the threat was elsewhere. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your spin.

Speaking at the opening of the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday, President Obama portrayed the deaths of four Americans in Libya as a result of inflamed tensions over an anti-Islam movie produced in the U.S., rather than a terrorist attack.

Everyone knows it was an “act of terror.” The key question is whether the President of the US understood that it was caused by an organized effort or a spontaneous reaction to a film. Based on context and subsequent communications, it is reasonable to conclude that Obama and his reps felt it was caused by reaction to a film for weeks. Crowley’s naive confirmation masked the point that the Obama admin either doesn’t understand the nature of our enemy or purposely tried to downplay it.

I feel Crowley showed that she was naive or in the pocket of Obama.

That’s what I thought. More lies. This what you said

“The average unemployment rate under Bush was 4.6%.”

The statement above is a copy and paste of what you posted. You did not say in 2006. And then you want to make comments like “I don’t and never said that. You should take remedial english. All I said was unemployment was at 4.6% under Bush which it was in 2006. If you can read and do simple math then you’d know that that is lower than 8%

So let’s see. You say “all I said was unemployment was at 4.6% under Bush which it was in 2006”. And you also say “I did and you can’t read” with regards to me saying you didn’t state that was the average for JUST 2006. Give me the time of the post when you said the 4.6 was JUST for 2006.

But if it is, yes I will collect it because I PAID INTO IT through every job I’ve held. I’m not depending on it and I’m trying to put away for my own retirement but the economy is so bad it is difficult. Obama was not qualified to be president and has done a poor job the last 4 years and we can’t afford 4 more of the same. We need Congress to get off their fat rears and cut spending and show leadership on both sides of the aisle. This election is not about social issues, it is about who can lead our country out of the mess we are in and I’m sorry but Obama is not the one to do that. So the Democrat talking point is that this is not a terrorist attack in spite of the fact that subsequently several Democrats including the president eventually called it a “terrorist attack” after having lied about it for three weeks calling it a spontaneous demonstration that got out of hand. Now Jay is saying it was really an act of war to which we have not responded! I am confused. The Democrats still to this day nearly a month later have no clue as to what happened and they had a representive of their State Department on the phone during the attack getting a live report that it was not repeat no a spontaneous demonstration that go out of control. The Administration “COVER UP” began immediately. Too bad their response to preventing it wasn’t nearly as swift as their lying spin. It is clear one of two things happened. Either this administration is still lying or it is incompetent. For goodness sakes this was not the first attack on our embassy in Libya. There were two attacks on our embassy in June and our ambassador was so concerned he asked for additional security which was turned down by the Obama administration. Meanwhile, the “COVER UP” continues. Part of their “COVER UP” is manifested in their appointing a commission to study what happened! Can anyone remember a government commission who ever accomplished anything except waste our money. If Obama were in charge of the Atlanta Police Department, every time a murder happened he would appoint a commission to study it. Comeon people, wake up. Four of our fellow citizens are dead as a direct result of the inaction of this administration no matter what word the left would prefer to use to describe it, terrorist, war, riot, or stupidity. The administation was caught with its pants down and it and its friends in the media are doing everything they can to hide the truth from we the american people.

The worst part about Crowley jumping in and siding with Obama is that by doing so she ignited a flurry of clapping, as if she was putting Romney in his place. And the audience clapped twice during that exchange..and the clapping was clearly for Obama and against Romney. A moderator’s job is not to jump in and fact-check candidates’ statements on-the-spot, particularly when he or she cannot do so equally. And it turns out Crowley was just as wrong as Obama! Crowley very clearly participated in misinforming the public. Even though she did say something to the effect of, “Yes, you’re right about that…” to Romney, it was muttered as an afterthought, and the room was in the process of clapping at the time, so the main result of that exchange (that Romney was correct and Obama was wrong) was not conveyed. Perhaps Romney should have asked Crowley to speak up and to repeat what she had said about Romney being correct after the room had settled.

Crowley was completely in her rights to correct Romney, since clearly she was at the Rose Garden speech and Romney was not. If the candidates can continually push her, she can damn well speak up herself.

People like Huh need to reach out, grab something stable and get a firm grip on reality. Obama called it an act of terrorism at the Rose Garden, and then for weeks the State Department tried to get the facts right. This is no more grand conspiracy than Romney getting it wrong the first night of the attack. It is sad to watch the GOP flail around like this instead of talking about points of actual merit.

Romney lied several times during the debate. Especially his favorite stump line about Obama’s apology tour – which never actually happened. Many of his numbers are orders of magnitude wrong, and several of his arguments supported by nothing by straw men. But the GOP will spend all their energy today beating their chest angrily because their guy got upstaged at a moment they thought was theirs for the debate.

Can you do simple math? If so, you’ll know that unemployment was MUCH lower under Bush and the economy was in fantastic shape until democrats came into office in 2006. Bush became a lame duck because he lost both the House and Senate. The housing crisis, which was all on Frank and Dodd, ushered in Obozo who to this day, has no idea how the economy works.

Everyone needs to just listen to Crowley in her post-interviews. She is backtracking on her support for Obama on the Libya point and strongly emphasizing when she turned to Romney and said that he was absolutely right about his point on the president not calling the Libya incident an act of terror until a couple of weeks after. That one point should not have decided the debate, but it certainly helped in cementing the feeling that Obama “won” the debate, since the audience clapped twice when Crowley stopped being moderate and sided with Obama on the issue, in effect “putting Romney in his place.” No one seems to remember that she said to Romney just after she had agreed with Obama that Romney was absolutely right on his point about Libya.

Thought the UGA blog with the Fl and SC fans was fun with inane banter, but some of you folks have your heads wedged so deep you can`t hear what`s being said in the debates. Obama despite all the spindoctors got beat simply because he can`t refute the facts about his atrocious record over the last 4 years. If he could, his camp would give him the facts to fight it. They can`t so he smiles and takes it on the chin every time. Press is liberal in this country and worldwide, especially CNN. For anybody listening to these debates with a clear mind, Obama continually throws around the same rhetoric and empty promises he did 4 years ago with a bit less zeal because some people actually look at the record instead of follow the rhetoric sheep into lahlah land. Gas is $4 a gallon, people are increasingly out of work, there are no tabled changes with any substance that represent solutions to the problems, deficit going into a tailspin and proposed increases part of the Dems package. Socialistic countries have never been successful because handouts like foodstamps and payouts for babies rob people`s self esteem and create laziness and a something for nothing mentality. I`m personally non partisan, and vote for who appears more rational based on the facts. Noone`s perfect but Romney has been highly successful in business and governing Mass, which wasn`t easy with as a republican there. That he was so successful in initiating reforms that noone can deny have made Mass a model state regarding economy, healthcare and education means he knows how to set intelligent gameplans, manage people and create synergy regardless of partisan lines. That`s what successful businessmen do, and that leadership is necessary to get the country going in the right direction to dig out of this mess. There may have been better people to run the country but of the 2 candidates still standing, track record speaks loud and clear. The Dem vs Repub game is largely emotion- based judging from what I hear after the debates and blogs of viewers. Politics is never in the best interest of the country, never has been. For those of us with a brain not looking for handouts and concerned about where we are now and are going in the future that affects our families, Vote based upon the Facts. Don`t think Greece can`t happen here, we`re closer than you may think. In the immortal words of Obama`s Chicago “preacher”and spiritual confidant, GD America!! You want 4 more years of “leadership” with mentors like that behind the scenes, you`re an idiot!

Obama won the second debate hands down. Romney did not lose he just didn’t win. Obama was presidential, authoritative and strong where he needed to be. Romney does not mind lying and looking you in the face. I do not understand how anyone can believe anything that comes out of his mouth ( as New Gingrich said in the Republican primary debates). Obama also took full credit or blame for Libya and did not, in the process, throw Hillary under the bus. The race is not over ( except in Georgia) but Obama telling his story and pointing out the absolute fiction that is Romney will prevail with people who have open minds and care about the integrity of government in this country.

Presidential debate: Libya questioner says Obama didn’t answer

Q: It’s Kerry, Kerry Ladka.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Great to see you here.
Q: This question actually comes from a brain trust of my friends at Global Telecom Supply in Mineola yesterday. We were sitting around talking about Libya, and we were reading and became aware of reports that the State Department refused extra security for our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, prior to the attacks that killed four Americans. Who was it that denied enhanced security and why?
Was Ladka satisfied with how the president responded? Simply no. “I really didn’t think he totally answered the question satisfactorily as far as I was concerned,” Ladka tells the Erik Wemple Blog.

This is why the market crashed, Liberals padding their pockets…
“McCain, a champion of common sense regulation, supported Senate bill 109, introduced in 2005 by Charles Hagel, a Republican member of the Banking Committee from Nebraska. McCain announced in a speech that he was a co-sponsor of the bill. The purpose of the bill was to stop Fanny May and the congressional dems from forcing banks into making even more risky loans and investing what the conservatives knew would eventually be the taxpayer’s money into toxic loans. Lib-dems, under Chris Dodd, the chairman of the Senate banking committee, acted in lock step to kill the bill in committee and continued to encourage Franklin Raines at Fanny May to buy up as many of the diseased loans as possible. “

1. Do you really believe Crowley favored Obama in the debate? Really???
2. I guess you want some unbiased ‘journalist’ from Fox News to moderate instead?
3. Obama did say it was an act of Terror in the Rose Garden. It’s not his fault Romney grabbed on to the wrong thing to challenge him on. And Crowley simply stated the fact on both sides. She agreed with Obama on that point and then told Romney he was right on the intent of his point. It was just to late to save him.
4. Obama rattles off a long list of promises that he got done (don’t have to agree with the policy – but he got them done) and Romney comes right back with here is what you didn’t get done that you promised. Really?
I know that’s the game, but does anyone really believe that any candidate has ever or will ever keep and complete every promise he makes in a campaign? Do you really think Romney would keep every promise he has made….oh yea, that’s right….his promises are vague and hollow enough that we won’t be able to tell if he kept them or not. Since he’s not filling in the details until after the election when it’s too late.

It doesn’tmatter who our President is. This country is in a mess and it will not get better until parents take control of their families and kids. Also the greed of industry has to change. This description pretty much sums up the average Conservative Republican. Clinton was right when he said that NO president in US history could have climbed us out of the depths we were in faster than Obama. Romney got away with murder in that first debate, changing all of his positions to suddenly and magically appear as a moderate and it’s a shame that most people just ate it up without questioning why Romney was suddenly pandering to Americans to appear as a moderate instead of the extremist that he is.

Romney needs to be held accountable for all his lies. It’s clear by his answer that he was swayed by the conservative propaganda on FOX Noise instead of actually being up to date on the facts. I am not so sure why this is such a major sticking point, whatever he called it doesn’t matter, what does matter is Mr. Romney jumping at the opportunity to gain political points essentially moments after the event took place. Whatever Romney’s goal is (to become President) he still has a duty as a civil servant, to respect the AUTHORITY of the President, and the sensitivity of what happened, and not tried to politicize such a topic, until enough action/investigation had taken place. The undermining of the President during other previous administration would be considered by many to be treasonous. It’s not like Obama supplied arms to the individuals that attacked/assassinated the ambassador…He allowed Reagan to put arms in the hands of enemies!

I can’t believe that people got this caught up over the semantics of a phrase used. And at that, be upset with the moderator who informed both candidates that what happened was correct. She did verify that the phrase itself was made by the president, and then also included the two week time lapse about the tape. The only person who was wrong was Romney, but it’s ok. He misstated a timing fact but people are playing on semantics because the bigger picture was/is how the “terror” was being explained to the people. And I’m an independent.

Actually what’s even more important is what the president plans on doing about the attack, not any of the rhetoric or what the act is called….Terrorism can be loosely applied to any of a number of acts so whether or not he called it a terrorist attack or not is moot..The young man that shot up an Aurora movie theater in my opinion was a terrorist act, because it made me think twice about going to see the movie…No one called that an act of terror because the melanin deficiency held by the perpetrator. He even had bombs and explosive ready for people that would eventually investigate home..All in all semantics and an attempt to find any little thing to beat Obama up over, while ignoring the plethora of lies spewed by Mr. Romney.

He can parse all he wants about what was said while they were investigating, but the President CLEARLY said the incident was an “ACT OF TERROR.”

Here’s the rub: IF President Obama would have said it was a “terrorist act” directly instead of playing with the language, the right-wing would now be running off at the mouth about how the country is not safe because of terrorist attacks.

It’s all BS. Romney stands up there an lies through is teeth, but you’re not hearing a peep about it on Faux “news” while they are trying to force this story on everyone else as they complain about “media bias.”

Is the everyone brain dead in Washington and media? Obama, on Sept 12 in the rose garden referred to the attack on consulate as an “acts of terror”. Not an act terrorism or a terrorist attack. There is a big difference between these statements. Anyone can commit an act of terror but only terrorist can commit a terrorist attack. The whole debate on this issue is why the White House (Obama) took so long to acknowledge this as a terrorist attack. Everyone can see that it was an act of terror but what we needed to know was that is was terrorists who carried it out.

I’m in the automotive sector, specifically collision repair. In ‘08, most everyone who had an accident repaired their car. Now, only 30% do if the vehicle is driveable, the other 70% either do not have the deductable or cash the insurance check because they need the money. This is being monitored by the insurance companies, trust me. And the 7 technicians I’ve been forced to lay off of which 3 lost their homes really feel it. Also with fuel prices where they are, people drive less, hence, tires, oil changes, basic maintenance is put off or simply not needed as often,, The automotive sector touches the lives of 1 out of every 5 Americans. And “act of terror” can be defined in mant ways. If I were to go up to Binden and smack his “I have nothing to come back on but this smearky grin” off his face, you could consider that an act of terror. Why not just come out and call it what it was…terrorism, period. Obuma also mentioned during the debate that he beefed up security after the attacks. Government records show that despite the Democratic National Convention’s early focus on salary equality for women, President Barack Obama has consistently paid his own female staffers less than men who perform similar or identical duties.

Data from the Obama White House’s 2011 annual report show that female staffers there earn a median salary 18 percent lower than that of men.

And nearly four years ago, at the height of the 2008 election season, Scripps Howard syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock wrote that female staffers in Obama’s U.S. Senate office, too, were shortchanged.

“Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397,” Murdock determined from online Senate salary records. But the future president’s “30 female employees … [earned] $45,152, on average.”

Lastly, in terms of the everyone can see this was terrorists, how can you be so sure? When the first plane flew into the towers most people thought it was a horrible accident. I’ll be that…. To a single mom you point is well taken, but I am talking loudly, and do consider myself a moderate. Unfortunately in the current two party system its about choosing the lesser of two evils, and honestly at the end of the day is anything going to change? Unfortunately all of the Promises Barack made, he should not have, because they were promises he couldn’t keep, not because he isn’t well trying but because he is being blocked by congress and the very process that was put in place to protect the people and not give any one person total control. Honestly Mitt’s father better exemplifies the qualities I would look for in a President but unfortunately he is not the one running. Mitt is a venture capitalist that made money on buying companies (how many people have the capital or connections to have that on their resume’) and selling them (and there liabilities ie people) to make profits! That in and of itself is the root of my concern because so many corporation feel its fair to outsource positions overseas in the interest of larger profit margins and at the expense of the American worker.
and you are right, Georgia was decided a long time ago, back when the Union defeated the Confederacy, so my opinion no matter how loud or RUDE doesn’t matter, so I give it, in any way I feel, politically correct or not!! The key is that I do have the authenticity to be me and stand behind what I say, and not try to sugar coat it. Do you forget that Mrs. Clinton, on behalf of the administration and our country issued an apology for the film that was blamed for the incident? Listen, it is my belief that politicians lie every day, regardless of their party affiliation. I just expect better from the President.

It is so disgusting how all you right wing haters gravitate to one moment in the debate and tear down the moderator with derogatory names, blame her for making your candidate look bad. When in truth this was a very telling moment in that it showed the true condescending character of Romney just by looking at his non-verbal behavior, the meanness in his in eyes, how autocratic he is. This is the true Romney, one who is used to having everything he wants, to bully when he doesn’t get it like he did to classmates in his younger years, and to even totally disrespect the President of the US (much like many of you). The spewing of hatred by the right side from the first day of Obama’s administration has been disgusting and disheartening. The same thing was done to Clinton during his entire administration and now we realize how well off we all were under his leadership. You all will never be happy unless you have one of your own in office running the country into wars and big deficits. Then people elect Democrats to try to dig them out and they then get blamed by the right wingers for doing the damage in the first place. The ignorant, Fox watching public then buys it once again and the crap starts over.

When Obama put his hand on the bible and was sworn in the economy was awful…. record number of people losing jobs left and right… financial markets frozen… the economy was in the drain…. education was leaving our children behind with no child left behind… the biggest transfer of wealth had taken place trillions lost under Bush…. thats a FACT

He rescued our auto industy… I was against but now I see it was for the good (middle class)

He saved millions of people from foreclosure (middle class)

He passed harp 1 & 2 and made banks deal with you… (I refinanced to 3.0 apr)

He cut out the red tape in student loans and gave more money to schools…

he has done what no other president has gotten to do… reform healthcare

It is amazing that a man who was born with a golden spoon in his mouth to wonderful parents who were so unlike him (his father was governor of Michigan when I was in high school and we all supported him); has made more millions by buying U.S. companies, desecrating them, closing them down resulting in people losing their jobs while he & his Bain Capitol reaped the benefits; has manipulated to avoid paying his fair share of taxes by hiding money in Swiss bank accounts and creating companies in the Cayman Islands and won’t provide the normal history of tax returns because he’s obviously afraid of what we will find; and finally saying to his big money contributors in a video recording that the 47% of people who support Obama are “victims” who depend on the government for support and will never vote for him. This is the TRUE Romney who doesn’t really relate to what the rest of the 99% deal with day-to-day. Yet all of you right wingers support him because he’s a Republican yet I would venture to say most of you are NOT in the top 1%. I am one of those 47% who support what Obama has been trying to do despite roadblocks placed in front of him every step, every proposal of the way. I am insulted that Romney groups me in his statement. I have both a bachelors degree & masters degree from 2 Big Ten universities, have worked hard all my life at good paying jobs and been successful. Yet I support the Democratic view that there are times when we all need help. Republicans have shown very well who they most care about through the legislation they pass and it’s NOT the average person. But you all drink their Kool aid and believe the lies they tell you because you don’t pay attention the rest of the time OR you only listen to the lies on Fox News. Unfortunately you at some point will feel the ramifications of your ignorance but it may be too late, whether it’s when you need quality, reasonably priced Medicare, or Social Security to live on when you are old and neither are there, or when you need healthcare for yourself or your loved ones and you are turned down or can’t afford it. Or maybe it won’t be you that will suffer but your children and grandchildren.

Candy Crowley’s explanation about what she did during the Benghazi segment of the debate was factually false. In regard to her decision to step in and support Obama as Romney was addressing the Benghazi scandal, Crowley claimed the following on CNN this morning: “There was this point where they both kind of looked at me, you know, and then, you know, Romney’s looking at me, the president’s looking at me, and what I wanted to do was move this along.”

Her claim is false and that is easily verifiable on the tape. They did not “both” look at her for help before she stepped in. There was only **one** debater who was looking at her at all when she stepped in: President Obama. Governor Romney only looked at her **after** she began to support President Obama – and understandably so. She’s supposed to be a moderator, not another debater.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/1905472640001/otr-panel-obama-and-the-truth-about-libya/

Additionally, on CNN with Anderson Cooper, Candy gave the following rationale for her “correction” of Governor Romney: “Romney was right in the main, I just think he picked the wrong word.”

First, that certainly sounds a lot more uncertain than what she said on national television during the debate, doesn’t it? Did she say “I think” or anything like that? No, she stated it, **as a fact**. Second, if her correction of Romney was about precision in language, then she and president Obama are the ones who are incorrect, not Romney. In fact, President Obama **did not** say during his Rose Garden press conference “that this was an act of terror.” He studiously avoided labeling the Benghazi attack as an act of terrorism and the perpetrators as terrorists and instead used several other phrases at the beginning of his Rose Garden press conference. And then, at the end of the conference, in a more ambiguous context that included a reference to the 9-11 attacks, President Obama spoke more broadly about, “acts of terror”.

And as the person who asked the question at the debate pointed out, Obama didn’t answer the question. Why didn’t Candy ask a follow up and direct Obama to actually answer the question as she did at other times?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/post/presidential-debate-libya-questioner-says-obama-didnt-answer/2012/10/17/7109898e-1867-11e2-a55c-39408fbe6a4b_blog.html

It is completely unprofessional for the “moderator” to interject anything into the discussions betweet the two candidated. Has anyone tried getting a job from a poor person?

That being said, this election isn’t going to be as close as many think. Too many people have had nearly four years of Obama’s “Hope” and “Change” and are now hoping for a real change. They will be voting that way, too. The defeat of Obama will be decisive and welcomed by the majority.

I’m sure it will be damaging to that huge ego Obama has, and Michelle will have to forego all the taxpayer funded vacations, but they will survive. America will survive, too, as a result of Obama’s defeat.

There are several who regularly blog here, though, who may require immediate medical attention once they learn of Obama’s defeat. Don’t worry, I won’t name any names such as gm, honested, Kris, Cherokee or Bernie, getalife and others.

This morning I listened to MSNBC (while trying not to gag) and they were all over the place because Obama was “closely tied” and Libya was a problem. So I am going to sit back and watch this Administration implode. Just two questions ~~How did Candy Crowley just happen to have a “transcript” of what President Obama said in the Rose Garden???President Obama said to her “You have the transcipt” (as he just sat there–pre-planned?) Actually. Someone needs to fact check. I wish fact checking happened throughout the dabate. Like maybe online where a biased website would fact check both candidates. And for all you who have already made up your mind about who you will vote for. Stop watching. Cause chances are your candidate will be lying in the next one about something. And Mr. Romney has back tracked and lied about what he has said so much. I find it hard to believe anything he says. As for the failures of the Obama adminstration. They face more than their policies. They still have to go through a republican congress who still ave one goal since his first day. “Get him out” and vote no for anything that can viewed as positive for the US or his admin. So heck yeah he’s got my vote. And for those out there frowning like Neil Cauvuto. Ask yourself this. Are you trully ready for “Privitization” of medicare and social security?
