A four-hour, state Capitol seminar on Agenda 21

Republican members of the state Senate have received an invitation from Majority Leader Chip Rogers of Woodstock to attend a four-hour, Oct. 11 seminar at the state Capitol on Agenda 21 – what some conservatives believe to be a United Nations-driven conspiracy to erase American property rights.

Zoning as a socialist plot, in other words.

Read the entire memo here. A taste:

agenda21

One of the most interesting things about the memo — aside from the prospect of watching state lawmakers discuss the Hegelian dialectic — is the wary reference to “public-private partnerships,” which have long been touted in the state Capitol as the solution to the state’s transportation funding problem. Toll roads, for instance.

Here’s some background: Agenda 21 came up as a topic during the TSPLOST debate.

Collectivism isn’t supposed to lead to collective ignorance.

So what do you call the ‘collection’ under the gold dome?

I expect though that ‘public private partnerships’ are fine when it comes to state sponsered charter schools.

What an embarrassment this clown is.

Can’t help but be impressed by the use of the term Hegelian Dialectic, but I would wager a year’s wages that 75% of the state senators had to look the term up.

As for Agenda 21, AL was the first state to enact legislation that limited or proscribed execution of Agenda 21 polices. Now there is a state we should always try to emulate.

*****************************

Or building a new stadium for arthur blank. Let’s not forget rogers’ most notorious public-private partnership when, relying on inside information from the GDOT, rogers and tom graves, those paragons of tea party conservatism, bought a dilapidated motel with the intent to sell it for 2-3 times it’s value to the GDOT when DOT needed it for a new exit off I75. When the plans for the exit were scrapped, and they saw they wouldn’t be able to have a ‘public-private partnership bilking the taxpayers via the DOT, they found another public-private partnership scam, declaring bankruptcy and letting the FDIC pick up the tab.

The republican party, they know how to make the government work. Work for them, that is. Yet they keep getting elected because the right wing in this state, which is about 70% of the populace, has been so dumbed down by fox news, tv preachers and the right wing bloggers, who all see them as nothing more than useful idiots providing them a revenue stream, it is a wonder they remember to pull down their pants for a bowel movement.

The UN will tell you where to live and what to eat and you will not have to decide anything anymore. “Peace in our time”, right guys.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are public/private partnerships. They were the heart and soul of the housing bubble. They had too much power and the politicians (Barney Frank and Chris Dodd particularly) couldn’t keep their hands off. I don’t know about Agenda 21, but the “public/private partnership” concept is ripe for abuse by politicians. They are always presented as a benign way to get things done for “the common good.” They are usually packed with gifts for special interests. Beware of politicians promoting public/private partnerships. I am glad to see Chip speaking out against them.

Before you parrot the wrong-wing radio talking points, you might want to read up on ‘fannie and freddie’.

How many of the inappropriate mortgages did either one of them originate (it’s easy, you can define it down to the single digits)?

The real dangerous ‘public private’ fiasco was Gramm-Leach-Bliley which allowed unregulated financial and insurance institutions to hide behind the full faith and credit of the United States while selling the public a giant bag or mislabeled manure.

What sort of fencepost-IQ-having mental midget do you have to be–what sort of itching, swelling, watery brain must you possess– to believe the UN, goddess bless it, would have practical application in your back yard? Like, more than the city council or the HOA?
UN: Resolved, war is bad.
GOP: Oh no, we have to get rid of the Army now.
UN: Resolved, hungry people is bad.
GOP: Oh no, the black helicopter ninjas are coming for my peanut butter.
UN: Resolved, be nice.
GOP: Oh no, we must protect our purity of essence, the flag, Tim Tebow, and apple strudel.
Sigh. I miss the Commies, at least they were real and had nukes.

Jim, the link to read the entire memo does not appear to be working. It is difficult to understand what is happening here, or that many people would be interested in attending the October 11 meeting. Sounds pretty boring and a waste of four hours unless you are a die-hard political type that frequents sparsely attended, pointless meetings.

For those of you who consider Agenda 21 to be a tin foil hat conspiracy dreamed up by the GOP, I would suggest you read “Behind the Green Mask” written by Rosa Koire, who heads up Democrats Against Agenda 21. She is from CA and found out just how real and nasty Agenda 21 is when she worked for the State of CA as a forensics property appraiser. I agree with Just Mean and Nasty above….if you don’t have the intelligence to educate yourself on this very serious threat to our American way of life, then you have no business speaking about something of which you know nothing.

Anyone else find the timing of this a little odd? The Senate Majority Leader is asking his members to leave their districts just four weeks before election day? Maybe some of them have campaigns to run, instead? The whole thing is just weird.

From the memo sent by state Sen. Chip Rogers to members of the Republican Caucus:
—————————————————————

“Subjects to be Covered:

What is United Nations Agenda 21? How pleasant sounding names are fostering a Socialist Plan. . . .”
========================================

And, this seminar is to be considered a serious, objective one – with words in the invitation such as “Socialist Plan”? Yet, our state’s representatives will consider it so. That is what is truly sad, imo, for Georgia and for Georgians – that Republican members of Georgia’s legislature will not oppose, or even question, Sen. Rogers’ ideological beliefs.

These days any crackpot can write a book, like Rosa Koire, and they can get many hits on the internet. This does not make their insanity any more credible than if they write a manifesto in block letters. As I said today’s GOP in GA is the KKK chapter of the John Birch Society, which employed the same techniques but in pamphlets and billboards. 1000 yard rolls of aluminum foil are for sale at Costco.

honested, before parroting Jim Galloway’s left wing talking points, do some research. Here is a start.

From the book, Wreckless Endangerment, written not by some right wing hack, but by a New York Times financial writer, Gretchen Morgenson, page 154.
“… Fannie Mae had been among the first companies to perfect the art of moving liabilities from its balance sheet to places where investors might not notice them. The hundreds of billions in mrtgage-backed securities that the company guaranteed sat in trusts known as Qualified Special Purpose Entities, and were therefore not consolidated on Fannie’s books. This was something of a charade since the company had guaranteed the mortgages in the trusts and would have to pay on them if they did not perform”

Any questions?
Learn from the master. Jim Galloway is a hack and should be put out to pasture.
