TAMPA — Some passages from Ann Romney’s speech tonight about her husband Mitt, who just officially became the Republican nominee for president:
”I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a ‘storybook marriage.’ Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or breast cancer.
“A storybook marriage? No, not at all. What Mitt Romney and I have is a real marriage.”
This is a likely closing passage:
”This is the man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say can’t be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair. This is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard.
“I can’t tell you what will happen over the next four years. But I can only stand here tonight, as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an American, and make you this solemn commitment:
“This man will not fail.
“This man will not let us down.
“This man will lift up America!”

“Her 5 sons are a chip off the old block, none of them served their Country” And neither did 13 other Presidents, including Obama and Clinton. Also 10 other presidents served but never say any action, so whats your point.

It can be humorous to watch oligarchs try to identify with working class stiffs. They get a hernia bending over backwards trying to find an area of commonality — and most of the time it’s such a stretch it’s just plain comical — five boys in a 20 room mansion on a rainly day can be a real problem.
Breast cancer and M.S. are terrible diseases and create havoc in marriages and families, but are considerably easier to handle with a $250 mil net worth scattered in tax havens around the world. These same issues involving people with working class incomes and inadequate or no insurance coverage is more the rule — and these arrogant elites could care less about them as demonstrated by their lack of ideas for a post-Obamacare scenario.
The Republican Party is bereft of ideas regarding the economy, unemployment, healthcare, and foreign policy. They just want to sing another verse of the same old hymn, but thinking sinners ain’t about to be convinced by the same tired old sermon.

lefties demonize Romney who made lots of money in the private sector, paid taxes all along the way, profits went to pension plans, endowments, etc. sold the company, paid taxes again, 15% capital gains, thats the law, saved lots of businesses, created thousands of jobs…. Obama is spending our tax money pay on backs to Chicago-style political operatives , lobbiests, union thugs, etc… Unemployment is way UP !!! no hope and only and alittle change left

Always amazes me how the left demonizes success and wants a pauper for President. Yet time after time they in turn will elect millionaires over and over again but that’s okay. Its okay for a democrat to be successful in business but not a republican? The so called saviors of your party, Franklin Roosevelt and John Kennedy was hereditary millionaires, which means they got all their money from their daddy. In fact every single democratic President elected in the 20th century was a millionaire before he took office.

Bain Capital with private investment employed thousands, generated profits, and paid taxes…..saved businesses like: Clear Channel, AMC Ent., Burger King, Burlington Coat factory, Dominos, Dunkin Donuts, Guitar Center, Staples, Toys R Us, Warner Music, Bloomin’ Brands, Outback, etc…… Obama wasted billions of YOUR tax $$$$ on Political paybacks… Solyndra, Ener 1 Beacon Power, Abound Solar, eastern energy, Spectra Watt, Amonix…. ALL were Obama contributors. ALL went bankrupt !!! Vote with your brains folks !!!

There is no economic reality to solar energy ever being a major backbone component of the national grid because it is the single most inefficient and load inconsistent (if solar is 50% of production say on the gulf coast this week, you are sitting in the damn dark because its cloudy and will be for days and battery storage is simply not anywhere near where it would have to be to be technologically for it to run even a small community for more than a few hours) source of energy of those that constitute more than 1% of energy production. People are not going to alter their lifestyle for some eco nut’s fantasy.

What a sad and backward looking place it must be inside your head.
Even Ga Power has abandoned their decades long chant of ‘it’ll never work’ for Solar Power in GA.
And, by the way, Solar is just one of the myriad of methods becoming more efficient on a daily basis and eliminating much of the need for the ever present ‘grid’.

For centuries, the battle of morality was fought between those who claimed that your life belongs to God and those who claimed that it belongs to your neighbors — between those who preached that the good is self-sacrifice for the sake of ghosts in heaven and those who preached that the good is self-sacrifice for the sake of incompetents on earth.I come to you to say that your life belongs to you and that the good is to live it for YOURSELF…

Am sure she and her speech will be tore apart, however, thought it was real. So they have money, so does the currentt President and his wife. A great deal of people have money, deal with it. I would just like to have someone proud of my country and not just somettimes. Thought she did a good job,. No person who is elected will do everything right for all people, but if they can stand tall and build up America, that is half the battle.

I’m glad you have a job!
But the deflection doesn’t change the fact that in this backward little state, we don’t even have the option of taking full advantage of the alternative generation options available in more civilized parts of the country because of the strangle-hold exerted by our monopoly power generator.
NOBODY is suggesting a next day payoff. It does take time and if you get outside much you may have noticed that the sun does present itself here on a very regular basis.
Also, I’m glad you just mumbled a little about the Solyndra business model and not about their superior collection technology, which we will be buying back from the Chinese in the not-too-distant future.

I am PROUD of Michelle Obama. She is a BEAUTIFUL First Lady and VERY educated.
Also why did Mrs. Romney feel the need to say ‘We love Women?’..that made absolutely NO sense at all! Did anyone notice not once did she say that they love America? No you didn’t.
On the outside of all that Mitt is NOT the answer for America at all. He said he will get what 3 million jobs if he is (God forbid) elected? Yeah he will get those jobs overseas..just like he did with Bain Capitol. He has YET to show his taxes BEFORE 2010…he has YET to say ANYTHING that makes sense…he is NOT the answer for America.

What a crock! She certainly isn’t arrogant, but she is confident. She never gave the impression of feeling superior, or “elitist”. She is “entitled” because her husband (with her support) educated himself and worked hard to achieve financial success.

Wow, what a pathetic Republican convention. The GOP Chairman and Speaker of the House get booed by their own party during the coronation of the chickenhawk draft-dodging Romney. I saw about three black ’spots’ in the audience. I wondered how much they were paid, or maybe they work for Herman Cain. The Las Vegas book still has Obama winning, and they NEVER lose…

I see you libs are trying to spin some kind of fairy tale about the Mitt and Ann Romney and I can also see that you did not listen to Ann’s speech. They were just like everyone else that has been successful. Got an education, struggled in the beginning to stay afloat, worked hard and then sacrificed and worked harder to get a company started and then worked even harder. Nothing was handed out to them, they did not depend on the government for handouts and they did not become victims of destiny and blame racism or religious bigotry or being the victim of being conservative in a liberal state. They just worked harder.
The work paid off and now they are living a well deserved life because they worked hard.

Fellow conservatives, the libs see their impending defeat just as we do; they just don’t want to admit that it is coming! They know the Kenyan has damaged this country and continues to do so. Libs revel in their masochistic desire for the rapidly approaching dim defeat. They can then do what they do best; protest, demonstrate and generally make fools of themselves.
