Here’s the TV spot that the Martha Zoller campaign says it will rely on through the Aug. 21 runoff – a combination attack ad and bio spot that touts Zoller’s endorsements by Sarah Palin and company:
The above will be the subject of mostly cable TV time. Both campaigns say that the dominant metro Atlanta television market is cost prohibitive. FYI, Collins is a state representative and attorney, who is also an Air Force Reserve chaplain.
He voted for the legislation that put the TSPLOST on the ballot, but later said he would vote no in the referendum itself. The “millions in debt” line is a reference to the Legislature’s decision to raise the debt ceiling allowed the state Board of Regents to permit an increase in capital improvements.

Collins was about to be run out of the 9th district by the Tea Party because of his multiple pro-tax votes. Only at the Hall County forum did he first say, “Probably not” on his personal vote on T-SPLOST – why didn’t he have the courage under the Gold Dome? His vote to raise the debt ceiling raises the cost of college tuition.
We’ve never had an alternative to Doug Collins … until now. Take the opportunity to send him back to his church. Oh wait, he doesn’t have that either.

One thing we have is an overabundance of attorneys.Elect some common folks for a change.

Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Zoller is a great reason to vote for Collins.

I can’t see the crazy woman fitting into Deal’s new chicken feet export business.

Martha Zoller is an oversized hot air peddler trying to land a lucrative media contract on Fox News.

All one has to do is look at “suck up” Collins’s record of love of big government. Then anyone can see Zoller it the right choice.

It will be great to see a rookie “oversized hot air peddler” become another notch on the belt of the hated Sarah Palin.

double @ 10:25. How many of our US reps are attorneys? What percentage of the members of the General Assembly are attorneys? And what makes attorneys not “common folk”? Is it that they seek facts and analyze those facts before expressing an opinion?

Reporting on the campaign mudslinging of these two isn’t helping to a build arational debate. It must be a slow day for political news or some reporter isn’t digging enough.

@armchair: “seek facts and analyze…”
Not quite. It’s the way they twist the rules to try to win the game.

Excluding bankruptcy attorneys, the others are scrambling to make their used BMW payments, because they derive most of their incomes from the middle class, and their services mostly fall under disposable income. You are going to find more and more of them working at McDonalds, especially, if Romney Hood gets into office.

Attacking the entire State Legislature is an interesting strategy for Zoller. We saw how that approach worked out in the Governor’s race.

NEWSFLASH — there is no debt ceiling in GA b/c the state gov’t is required by law to balance its budget every single year. Zoller should brush up on her understanding of government processes

@retiree … Martha Zoller was against T-SPLOST from the beginning. She is a champion of the taxpayer, and has the endorsement of all the big hitters in the Tea Party and Fair Tax movements.
Mr. Collins numerous votes that either raised or would have raised taxes in Georgia are well-documented. He claims all Georgians pay lower taxes since he’s been a Gold-Domer. I checked … my effective tax rate has increased since Doug and his cabal of tax-pledging back-sliders have been in office.

Hey, alphabets, when the legislature creates an authority that has borrowing authority, then gives them a ceiling, and then authorizes raising that ceiling at will, then there is debt created and increased. The funds to pay that debt ultimately come from tuition increases at Georgia colleges and universities.
Create an authority, then you can claim you balance the budget? Ms. Zoller understands … she’s paying for her 4th child’s college expenses.

If nothing else, I hope this runoff leads some voters to question if they really need to vote Republican every time.
Here’s an idea: how about asking “Man of God” Collins what he thinks about all these people bringing themselves one day closer to the onset of Type II diabetes by eating at Chik-Fil-A on 8/1, when they could have been doing real good for others? Not that Zoller should be spared the question of who will ultimately pay for those people’s lifestyle choices…
