Sarah Palin endorses Martha Zoller in 9th District race

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin this evening endorsed former talk radio host Martha Zoller, who has been positioning herself as a tea party favorite in the GOP race for the new 9th Congressional District.

The endorsement is an effective comeback for Zoller. Only last week, her chief rival, state Rep. Doug Collins, had been flashing his endorsement by former U.S. senator and Gov. Zell Miller.

Says Palin, as reported by the Zoller campaign:

“If you agree that it’s time our elected officials stopped talking at us and started listening to us, then I hope you will join me in supporting Martha Zoller….

“Martha is running against the establishment, which, as we know, is an uphill battle; but with all of our support she can win. In Congress, she’ll vote to cut spending, lower taxes, and repeal Obamacare. In addition to being pro-life and a firm defender of our Constitution, including our Second Amendment rights, Martha is a strong fiscal conservative….”

Zoller says she began seeking Palin’s support earlier this year, and declared herself “thrilled to have the strong support of Governor Palin.” Says Zoller:

“Together, we will fight to put this country back on the right track and ensure prosperity and opportunity for many generations to come.”

The last prominent endorsement by Palin in a Georgia race came two years ago, when she endorsed Karen Handel in the Republican race for governor. Handel was defeated by Nathan Deal. Collins, it should be noted, recently served as one of Governor Deal’s floor leaders in the House.

We’re told that Palin isn’t expected to make a personal appearance in Georgia between now and the July 31 vote. Should the race move into a runoff, however, all bets are off.

The reaction from Collins campaign strategist Chip Lake:

“While we admire and respect Governor Palin, Martha’s liberal talk threatens our conservative values.. Whether it’s her pro-abortion, pro-civil unions or other liberal views, Martha Zoller would be wrong in Congress.

“Better to have a true Georgia conservative like Doug Collins. The endorsements he’s received from [former] Gov. Zell Miller, [House] Speaker Ralston and the NRA, along with the faith shown in him by Governor Deal show he shares the values of people who know and love North Georgia the most.”

Palin is a twit and if she supports this woman then I will not vote for her. The only thing Palin knows abut politics is what someone else tells her or she wrote it on her habd for god sakes.

“Palin has not had a job in 4 years she has millions off these dumb angry tea party fools,”

Kind of like what Jesse Jackson has been doing his entire adult life?

I don’t know a thing about Zoller, but anyone who receives Palin’s endorsement would never get my vote.

Trying to play games this morning. Jesse makes a living off of angry dumb voters that think the world is against them. This is the same analogy that the poster was making about Palin. The difference is he has been doing it his entire life instead of the past 4 years

Only in GA!
In the rest of the country an ‘endorsement’ from a quitter and a loser would be a guaranteed end to one’s campaign.
Here, I’m sure it will bring the most narrow-minded wrong wing nuts to the polls.

Well luckily for all of you, Sarah Palin isn’t on the ballot. It is sheer idiocy to base your vote on the fact that Palin endorsed her. At least she wasn’t endorsed by the liberal former governor or all of the state legislators who vote more liberally than a democrat. She is the only candidate who is worth having represent us.

????????????????????????????

What is it with these talk radio nutjobs running for office?

Jeez, wasn’t the ethically challenged Herman Cain enough of an embarrassment for you fake conservatives??

And the King of Slime himself – Rush L – has a rather telling nickname, huh?

“The Godfather of the GOP”.

Such is the insanely abysmal state of this hijacked and hemorrhaging once Grand Old Party…

Republican’s lost the title of conservative when Reagan came into office and for sure by the time he left. Republicans spent like fools, like they had their own personal money tree, the whole time they were in office and are the reason we are in the mess were in today in this State and the Nation.
Being endorse by the Shrieker Palin, good grief, what an endorsement, poor thing!

Come election time, July 31st and November 2012, I plan on NOT voting for one Republican Incumbent, Republicans are the Reason this State and this Nation is in the mess it’s in. November can’t come soon enough! These Corporate Billionaires, Millionaires who hide money offshore aren’t American’s, they are traitors to this country. They can’t buy my vote and I hope they don’t buy yours.
And NO on Splost, those in charge need to get their noodles to thinking about what is good for the people of the Atlanta area as a whole and not their corporate crony’s. The people have seen through this boondoggle Tax increase in sheep’s clothing.. And I sure don’t want to see any Toll Roads either, so y’all better get to thinking or else you will be out the door, which I hope most of you are gone this go around, wishful thinking, I know, but there’s alway that next election, were watching.

I’ll be writing another check to any woman who has been endorsed by Miss Sarah. You got my help, Miss Martha. I just read your site and you look like a good conservative and patriot. Anyone who is friends with Miss Sarah is a friend of mine and as usual, you’re invited over for Prayer and Pie. Amen, Bill

Dottie are you on the payroll of the Zoller campaign? That’s the same rhetoric Martha uses to cover her liberal tracks. And by the way Doug Collins is a true conservative, born, raised, educated amongst the same people he will represent in Congress. A lot more than Martha can say…an import into North Georgia who only is looking for a new audience for her loud mouth. AKA “Martha Holler”.
