The people behind of HBO’s “Game of Thrones” have apologized for using a likeness of President George W. Bush’s head on a spike in its first season. It was an accident, according to the Hollywood Reporter:
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss acknowledged the likeness during the commentary feature on the show’s DVD boxed set, noting the decision to use the model was motivated by budget and not by politics….
HBO and Benioff and Weiss issued a pair of statements late Wednesday apologizing for the incident.
“We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can’t afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush,” Benioff and Weiss said. “In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.”

“noting the decision to use the model was motivated by budget and not by politics…” LMFAO
I guess if this show is still on the air we can expect a “likeness” of Barry the great as Emperor…

Much like King Joffrey, Dubya was a warmongering coward who was an illegitimate, unfit heir to the throne. Can’t imagine a more fitting comparison.

This whole thing is pure bullsh_ _. I can’t believe that there are Americans that support Hollywood and their liberal agenda. Sure a lot of them are good and talented actors but I do not give a flying fornication about their political views. To me supporting them by paying for their products is the same as supporting the demise of our country.

What a joke, if that was Obama head, there would have been world war 3 on the Media, it would have put the producers in jail. It if funny how the Liberal Socialist talk about peace and love but they are one full of HATE, BACKSTABBING AND OPPRESSING OTHERS WITH DIFFERENT IDEA BUT THEY LOVE IT WHEN THEY SPEAK, NO ONE SHOULD OPPOSE THEM. I suppose this is just semantics, but, isn’t “We meant no disrespect to the former President” disrespectful itself? There is no such thing as a former President. That’s why we refer to the living Presidents as President Carter, President Bush, President Clinton and President Bush.

Just imagine what we would be hearing from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, CNN, MSNBC, and various others. Just heard that HBO is a huge contributor to the Democrats and Obama. Not surprised here, this had to be intentional just to see if they could get away with it and make some credibility points with their peers.

I canceled HBO about 3 months ago. They only show old movies and they show the same ones over and over sandwiched between their leftist agenda. I found that I never watched it anymore but this further validates my decision and makes me happy I did.
The network that has Bill Mayer constantly spewing hate towards conservatives and a show where Will Ferrell made fun of Bush as an HBO special? And now they say they meant nothing by this? Can you imagine the outrage if the community organizer was treated this way? There would be riots! They would be branded racists! The double standard sickens me!

Vining Dawg [sic]: So, the reason you are filled with hate is because of a random blogger that you don’t agree with? Not everything is a conspiracy…I’m quite sure this was not done on purpose, or at least not by the entire production cast. We’re all Americans, so chill. The world will not end just because Obama gets re-elected or Mitt wins. You lost, quit whining and blaming every single thing that happens on the POTUS. For the record, Bush was a god awful President. I think the only good thing he did was give a good speech post-911 and the AIDS funding. Also, if McCain were POTUS, guess what? The economy would most likely be stuck in the same place we’re in right now, except people like you would blindly be blaming it on all Democrats in congress. Always need a place to point blame. How about rolling up your sleeves and working with other people for a change instead of demagoguery.

IMO, you would have to look hard to see a resemblance. If it were a front-face photo, it may be more evident, but it is one those situtaions where you see it only when it is mentioned. If they did it on purpose, then that is really disrepectful.

I urge everyone to study as much as they can on 9/11 and DO NOT ignore the material that the mass media will not touch. Start with the book “The New Pearl Harbor” by Griffin and go from there.

I’m sure y’all were equally as offended when Bush’s face was mass produced on rubber masks and sold in Halloween costume stores, right? Because it’s the same sort of thing. You probably went into fits over the movie Point Break, when the surfer gang robbed banks using presidential face masks, too. Uh-huh. SURE you did.
I watched every minute of the show and never noticed that one of the multitude of rented rubber body parts manufactured for movie sets bore a likeness to GWB — and I would have found it hilarious!
Conclusion: Your faux outrage is lamer than usual today. Seriously, do you bidtzh when you’re happy, or are you only happy when you’re bidtzhing?
