Nathan Deal joins the Mitt Romney campaign

From the Associated Press:

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. — Gov. Nathan Deal says he’s supporting Mitt Romney for president and he’s confident Georgia voters will too.

After staying mum about presidential politics in his speech to the weekend convention of the Georgia Republican Party, Deal [said] Sunday that he’s spoken with Romney and “certainly I will support his candidacy.”

Deal had been a strong supporter of Newt Gingrich, who easily won Georgia’s Super Tuesday primary in March. The governor did not publicly declare his support for Romney when Gingrich dropped out of the race May 2.

Deal says he’s certain Georgia voters who “support a conservative” to take the White House in November will end up backing Romney.

The governor said: “He’s conservative enough for me.”

td, really? Is that all you have? This is the first time the party out of power took such a drastic overt stance against a newly elected president. Check your history. This is also the first time a sitting president has received such a magnitude of disgraceful disrespect for the office from the congress, Republican congress in this case. Looking at the reverse end you mentioned, this is also the first time a sitting president has done so much bending to try to appease the opposite party, in spite of the potential backlash from his own party, and what did he get in return? Republican party congressional extremist obstructionist kicking Americans and the country under the bus.
Again, in spite of the Republican obstructionist, still we rise!

Of course Deal would. He’s a Republican bent on ruining Georgia and a crook. I seem to recall him being considered an unelectable crackpot politician only a few years ago. How he actually got into office in a relatively moderate state like Georgia, I will never know. Although Romney would probably be the least bad of the Republicans he remains a really greedy rich guy who took good jobs from a lot of people. Of course that is what Republicans want, including Deal, to make people work harder for less money so that the rich get richer. Bring back Zell Miller!

Since he can not win re election on his record he is attempting to divide the nation

Circa Bush 04. If you don’t re-elect me we will be hit by terrorist, If you don’t agree with me and my Party you are not a Patriot, lets get gay marriage ammendments on the ballots in as many states as possible, I really could go on all day…

You are exactly right. I’ve been saying this to people for awhile, and especially the past couple of weeks since President Obama came out with his announcement about gay marriages.

GWB did the exact opposite. And people carried on about the President acknowledging the one year anniversary of getting Osama Bin Laden for purely political reasons. Yet during the entire election cycle all I heard from GWB supporters was, he has kept us safe. They have been no more 911’s. Duh, there weren’t any before then either. And gay marriages–why in the world did people think that there was going to be a run on trying to legalize them–oh because Repubs told them so.

Politics both fascinates and disgusts me!
