Marginally funny – the actors are better than the script.
Look before I leap...
May 13th, 201211:59 am
SNL stopped being funny 30 years ago.
Will Ferrell was NEVER funny.
In the day, I liked a good riff on Bush/Cheney as much as anyone, but it is way past time to move on.
May 13th, 201212:01 pm
Republicans need to get Bush out of the closet and out on the campaign trail.
May 13th, 201212:06 pm

Until shrub becomes more visible, it will be hard for the Hague to proceed with the necessary business.
So, I doubt we will be seeing him in public anytime soon.
May 13th, 201212:13 pm
Main stream media and Holly wood in bed with Obama. Just look down on the bottom left of your computer screen. My qwestion is how that hope and change working for you ?
May 13th, 201212:14 pm
Bush is always funny!
May 13th, 201212:15 pm
@ Charlie S – President Obama declared on the one-year anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden – after a decade of war, the U.S. can “see the light of a new day on the horizon.”
Channeling Bush when Obama gives more than enough material? Pretty pathetic for NBC and SNL. Obama needs all the help he can get from Hollywood and NY idiot liberals because of his woefully pathetic record as President. The best thing about Obama is that he makes Bush look good.
May 13th, 201212:18 pm
Will Ferrel’s an idiot, but to the left, he is a genuis.
May 13th, 201212:24 pm
“Will Ferrel’s an idiot, but to the left, he is a genuis.”
I love irony.
May 13th, 201212:26 pm
SNL will never make fun of a liberal, but, if someone did, I can hear it now, RACISM, RACISM, RACISM. I say let’s vote the clown out of office.
May 13th, 201212:31 pm
“It’ shame SNL can never do anything to Monkey ass Obama”
“SNL will never make fun of a liberal, but, if someone did, I can hear it now, RACISM, RACISM, RACISM.”
May 13th, 201212:32 pm
Yes, if only SNL made fun of Obama (democrats) … because that never happens.
May 13th, 201212:34 pm
Last week SNL killed a sketch on Obama killing bin Laden, then predictably skewered FOX News instead.
In the censored skit, President Obama addresses Americans soon after the first anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden — and he makes sure to remind viewers that all credit for the raid on the terrorist leader’s compound belongs to him.
“I hope you had a safe and joyous first anniversary of his killing,” the president, portrayed by Fred Armisen, begins.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be at home this year, as I had to fly to Afghanistan, to remind President Karzai that, exactly one year ago, we killed Osama bin Laden, and that the decision to do so was a gutsy one,” the president continues. “And was mine.”
May 13th, 201212:36 pm
“Yes, if only SNL made fun of Obama (democrats)”
Exactly. The depiction of Joe Biden in that skit as a little boy throwing a tantrum must have been invisible to Republicans.
May 13th, 201212:38 pm
Victimist @ 12:34, thanks for playing the victim once again.
May 13th, 201212:41 pm
Will Ferrell has alot of talent but his mind has gone into the sewer…………and h is 3rd grade mentality sense of humor is getting OLD
May 13th, 201212:46 pm
Seems to me that Republicans may not think making fun of Biden is the same – since Biden is not Obama. Maybe that is invisible to DannyX.
May 13th, 201212:47 pm
Seeing this “skit” makes me glad I still pray for bin Obama. Allah save our great nation if anything happens to him and Joe Biden is elevated to the office of the Presidency. I shudder to think of the outcome. However, to the socialist lefties, that would amount to a smooth transition. Going back to when the Dimocrats controlled the House, an even WORSE scenario would have been Joe Biden having a heart attack on becoming President and, and, and, Geez, I can’t even type her name… I get the jitters so bad. Allahu Akbar!!
May 13th, 201212:55 pm
Will Ferrell is hilarious. But I’ve seen his Bush shtick. I didn’t even watch the clip. I already know that it’s not funny.
May 13th, 20121:00 pm
I like Will Ferrell. I think he is hilarious. But I’ve seen his Bush impersonation, so I didn’t bother to watch the clip. I already know that it’s not funny.
May 13th, 20121:11 pm
@ DannyX – I love irony too. And I hope you love the hope and change because that’s all you’ve got now. Very little hope and a some change in your pocket.
May 13th, 20121:12 pm
What a wonderful thread for the historical revisionists.
Soon it will devolve to discussing the ‘good old days’ of 2001-2008.
May 13th, 20121:14 pm
Lots of selective partisan memories on here…SNL routinely skewers Democrats including Obama. Amazing how convienently they forget skits about David Patterson, the blind Dem Gov, Bill Clinton at McDonald’s, and Obama’s largely unfinished agenda. Just one more example of conservatives constantly crying victim.
May 13th, 20121:19 pm
I do think a little balance here would be good. Check out this funny link from another SNL alum Victoria Jackson. Very funny. Very, very funny.
Titled, “Obama Plot: Summer Riots, Suspended Election?”
It’s a riot. Lmao.
May 13th, 20121:21 pm
To the righties, Google is your friend.
Google SNL clips for Biden (972K results), Obama (8.2M results) and Clinton (2.6M results), Carter (4.4M results).
May 13th, 20121:26 pm
@ Kevin – You added to proving the point of liberal bias. You had to reach all the way back to October of 2009 and before for 3 episodes of SNL where liberals were parodied in non election years.
May 13th, 20121:35 pm
Victimist @ 1:26, thanks for playing the victim once again.
May 13th, 20121:48 pm
Big city print media, news magazines, network news, the entertainment industry, Hollywood directors, producers, and actors are notoriously biased to the left. Here is a book about Hollywood TV:
May 13th, 20121:49 pm
The USA will forever be shamed for giving the World the bush/cheney regime.
May 13th, 20122:08 pm
Maybe there are not many parodies of Obama on mainstream TV shows (in addition to the fact that democrats have a problem understanding satire) because like Mike Luckovich, they are afraid of black people. Source: Luckovich’s own (playing the victim) letter to the AJC.
May 13th, 20122:14 pm
“Big city print media, news magazines, network news, the entertainment industry, Hollywood directors, producers, and actors are notoriously biased to the left. Here is a book about Hollywood TV:”
Big deal. Nothing is stopping the right from starting their own papers, news magazines, making their own movies, or starting their own tv networks. Free market. You sure have an entitlement mentality.
The right has plenty of opportunity. Murdoch could have added a nightly newscast to his Fox tv network. People are more than free to watch the 50 religious broadcast tv stations, but don’t. The Koch boys could easily produce conservative movies. Why isn’t Murdoch producing conservative programs on the Fox network instead of programs like The Family Guy? How about “The Family Values Guy?”
This is just another thing that Republicans like Victimist love to whine about.
May 13th, 20122:24 pm
“Maybe there are not many parodies of Obama on mainstream TV shows”
Murdoch could easily put a new conservative alternative opposite of SNL on his Fox network. It could show Obama parodies for a full hour and a half. Victoria Jackson could host it.
May 13th, 20122:26 pm
Common among all those of the far right, is the inability to laugh at themselves.
This is satire people. Lighten up.
May 13th, 20122:34 pm
Going Right — Your attempt at humor is moronic.
May 13th, 20122:44 pm
I like how when a liberal attacks Fox News, they name call. Liberal’s don’t attack credibility based on news reports. They get upset because Fox doesn’t play by the MSNBC rules. Those rules are simple. Anything that smells like Conservatism, Capitalism, or Constitutionalism. Liberals prey on the weak minded. They convince you that without them, you cannot survive. Liberals cry for more regulations, more social programs, more rules. When I debate with a liberal, it never fails that they resort to name calling. I have never understood it. I have a question, we have liberals like Will Smith saying they don’t pay enough in taxes, do you think he does a simple tax return or do you think he takes advantage of every tax break and loophole he can? If he does a simple return, I say he’s practicing what he’s preaching. If he’s using tax breaks, I say shame on him. He should live by what he says. Same with Warren Buffet. Berkshire Hathaway “owes” billions in back taxes. He is quoted as saying he believes he doesn’t’ pay enough in taxes. I have a question… Those of you liberals that believe every millionaire should pay more in taxes, what amount should they be left with to live on? Is that amount close to the level you live on? Funny how that works out. The amount you have is the perfect amount for everybody else to live on. You show me a Liberal that wants a smaller government, more personal privacy, fewer regulations on personal life, and a balanced tax system and I’ll show you a unicorn that poops diamonds and rainbows.
May 13th, 20123:33 pm
The ignorance of this thread is why Republicans get made fun of.
May 13th, 20123:40 pm
“You show me a Liberal that wants a smaller government,…”
Non Military Government Employees:
1981-1992 (Reagan-Bush I)
Net Change: 153
Net Change: -309
Net Change: 136
Dontcha just hate it when the facts don’t back you up?
“..more personal privacy, fewer regulations on personal life,…”
The federal government wasn’t reading my emails or listening into my overseas conversations before Bush was in office.
The number of states that passed increased limitations on abortion went from 13 to 26 since 2000. A 100% increase.
40 states have laws or have amended the state constitutions to ban same sex marriages.
Neither of those sound much like fewer regulations on personal life. Quite the opposite would you not say?
May 13th, 20124:00 pm
Look…how has Obama changed your civil liberties… Oh yeah…he kiLls citizens withoutnantrial or a warrant. Oops.
Missed the statistics on the number of employees under Obama. ??
Clinton had a republican congress. Bet Obama’s numbers would look better if he did too.
May 13th, 20124:01 pm
Hey Danny X, Victoria jackson hasn’t been funny in years, now she’s just a raving lunatic.
May 13th, 20124:08 pm
As far as Democrats, iSNL can make fun of Joe Biden due to the fact he is white.
0bama the JiveTalker? Not so much.
May 13th, 20124:16 pm
Thin skin and no funny bone…..
Plus, no clue of how to run a country!
May 13th, 20124:26 pm
It seems like when Will Ferrell started making his impersonation of President Bush personal, his movies started to tank. Keep making fun of conservatives there Will. This conservative won’t pay his hard earned money to see your stupid movies.
May 13th, 20124:37 pm
“Missed the statistics on the number of employees under Obama. ??”
Obama has yet to finish his term. But since you asked the number has not changed from 2009 to 2010 (the latest year for which I have a number). By the way, this period has Dem control of both houses of congress and the White House. OOOPS!
Regarding civil liberties violations, my comment was not intended to say that that the Dems (aka liberals) have a better record, it was simply to show the fallacy of the belief that the conservatives do.
One of these days, the so-called conservatives here are gonna wake up and realize that when it comes to big government and spending, there is no difference between the GOP and the Democrats.
The only difference between the GOP and Democrats is that the GOP are anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-union and pro-gun (and the pro-gun thing is iffy as I know quite a few liberals who own guns).
May 13th, 20124:40 pm
Luckily, no part of the economy is dependent on a ‘conservative’s money’.
May 13th, 20124:42 pm
That change in gun ownership is a self-protection thing for when the President wins his landslide re-election and the conserrrrrrrvatives react in the only way they know how. (Act out in a violent and childish manner.)

I am anti-union. America produces union automobiles. Those automobiles are considered the worst made in the world. As far as gay marriage, it’s not anti gay. Marriage is an institution between us and God. Unfortunately, the government thinks that’s an opportunity to generate more revenue. Once you open the doors to gay marriage, you open the doors to polygamy and other forms of marriage that are currently illegal.
“All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take.”
May 13th, 20125:31 pm
Come on, people, stop being so sensitive and polarizing about everything! I watched this last night for sheer entertainment’s sake and laughed til I almost peed my pants. Their take-off was not only Bush (R), but also Biden (D) — equal opportunity political fun. No more, no less.

Do they make “Epic Fail” in your size???
May 13th, 20125:44 pm
“Marriage is an institution between us and God”
Says the bible and a bunch of religious people.
And last I looked, the US Constitution pretty much says the bible and a bunch of religious people are prohibited from imposing their beliefs on their fellow citizens.
In reality marriage is a civil construct that was originally designed to ensure legitimacy when it came time to pass property from one generation to the next.
May 13th, 20125:53 pm
Truth and Centrist must be from the same mind set, oh yes I forgot, with conservatives you can only have one mind set. Thanks to the TP and Koch brothers.
It was actually one of the better skits of what was one of the most disappointing SNLs ever. It was like Ferrell didn’t show up until Friday and they just threw something together last minute. Most of the skits were nonsensical, with no laughs even from the studio audience. Even the always reliable “Get in the Cage” failed with the humorless Liam Neeson. Only the StayFree Maxi pads skit amused, slightly. Can’t give up on SNL or Ferrell, though. Never know when they’ll give you something priceless.
May 13th, 20125:59 pm
@Look before I leap…
“40 states have laws or have amended the state constitutions to ban same sex marriages.”
So the actions of sovereign states is a reflection of the actions by the Executive Branch?
Marriage is a social contract in the Bible that predates America by thousands of years.
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
The first marriage were held in Ancient Rome. We learned this in Anthropology.
May 13th, 20126:00 pm
Go back once again and re-read my original post.
Hint: Pay particular attention the date ranges in my summary. Also note that the years noted are Federal fiscal years. FY 2009 starts in Oct of 2008.
Since you seem to be someone who has a comprehension problem, employee headcount in 2009 would be a reflection of administration policies for the person who held office in CY 2008 (Bush). Since Obama assumed office in Jan 2009, there was little he could do to affect the headcount as of CY Sep 2009.
I know you have a desire to be right, but you are not.
Ball in your court sir.
May 13th, 20126:02 pm
Marriage is only recognized between a man and a woman in 31 U.S. States.
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is a United States FEDERAL law that defines marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman. The law passed both houses of Congress by large majorities and was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on September 21, 1996. Under the law, no state or other political subdivision of the U.S. may be required to recognize as a marriage a same-sex relationship considered a marriage in another state. Section 3 of DOMA codifies the non-recognition of same-sex marriage for all federal purposes, including insurance benefits for government employees, Social Security survivors’ benefits, and the filing of joint tax returns. DOMA is being challenged and may one day reach the SCOTUS, but is in force in the meantime. There is no reference to religion – signed state governed marriage certificates by those authorized civil and religious officials is what makes it legal.
May 13th, 20126:03 pm
When you look at the Bible as a history book, like it is, the first marriage was between Adam and Eve. This was not for property ownership.
May 13th, 20126:10 pm
When I was in High School At Monsignor Maloney High in a northern state, the Sister who taught English (Sr. Margaret Xavier) threw me out of class for sticking a tack in Kathleen O’Donnell’s seat which was in front of me. She came out of the seat like a cannon and screamed! We all had a hoot over that…BUT…it may now disqualify me from ever being President. And to think: it happened almost 40 years ago! Some things I guess I’ll never be able to live down. What a cruel stunt.
May 13th, 20126:13 pm
Study ‘religions’ outside the goat herders in the middle east and you will find that the ‘property ownership’ aspect of marriage predate the invention of god and passing along of the bible in campfire stories.
We have a Constitution that has far more importance in our Country. The rantings of unwashed goat herders have their place, but not in government.
May 13th, 20126:15 pm
Yours was a childish ‘prank’.
Willard’s was criminal assault (but daddy’s money kept it quiet).
Why didn’t his ’sister grandmas’ teach him to behave better among other humans?
May 13th, 20126:16 pm
“So the actions of sovereign states is a reflection of the actions by the Executive Branch?”
What is the point of your question? I made no mention of states sovereign actions or Executive Branch actions? Are you even bothering to read what I post?
“The first marriage were held in Ancient Rome. We learned this in Anthropology.”
Then you should sue your Anthropology instructor.
The Israelites have been around since 10,000 BC and although no one knows when the first marriage ceremony occurred, it most certainly occurred before before Remus and Romulus founded Rome in 753 BC.

firstname.lastname@example.org; I don’t suppose you can tell us what actually transpired that day. The Washington Post seems to know all the details as it took thirteen pages to print all the details from the story. Poor Willard, er, Mitt! Unfortunately, I probably won’t live long enough to wait for all the dirt they will dredge up from Mitt’s teen years throughout his life. If that’s all they (the Dimos) can dredge up against ol’ Mitt, then they are a most pitiful bunch. Would you care to elaborate what else might be brought to light in Mitt’s previous years? Figured you’d know since you so aptly put it in your blog what actually happened.
May 13th, 20129:42 pm
“If that’s all they (the Dimos) can dredge up against ol’ Mitt..”
Gotta love the partisan blinders or convenient memory of the right here.
“Dirt” on Obama dredged up by the GOP:
Born in Kenya (debunked)
Ok; born in Hawaii (true) but not a US citizen (false).
Nope, born in Kenya (debunked a 2nd, 3rd and 4th time)
Smoked grass in college (true – so did Bush II)
Tried cocaine in college (see above).
Pastor said “god-d*mn America” (true, pastor is a jack*ss, a lot of pastors are jack*sses)
May 13th, 201211:02 pm
What does my reply matter.
Your mind is settled and closed, witnesses be damned.
And I am replying to a guy who probably called the President a ‘Socialist” (I wish he was but he is nowhere near) in the past.
Look, if you want to vote for someone who can attack a schoolmate and walk away then conveniently forget all about it, go ahead.
After all, like me, you are a Georgian and the current majority here have shown they will vote for any lowlife, as long as he/she does not have a ‘D’ by their name.
May 13th, 201211:03 pm
I still wonder why his sister grandma’s didn’t teach him to behave in a more civilized fashion.
