Breaking presidential news, oddly enough, from the Jewish Journal. Billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, the chief underwriter for the super PAC that has kept Newt Gingrich’s campaign alive, says time’s about up for his candidate:
Said Adelson:
“It appears as though he’s at the end of his line. Because mathematically, he can’t get anywhere near the numbers, and there’s unlikely to be a brokered convention.”

Becky, I’m in the Lumber business, not taking 400K a year and asking to fix those problems, but one thing I would do is get put the speculators out of business. They buy the oil futures, they would have to take them. That would solve some of it. I would really mean ” an all the above strategy” and back it up and not just use it as Campaign lip service. And Becky, I’m going out on limb, but I would guess you would vote for Obama if Jesus Christ was the republican nominee.

How do you propose to put the speculators out of business? Buy them out?
I am not beyond saying there are several things President Obama has done I don’t agree with but he will be reelected by a land slide because the gop has not one viable candidate.

and to put people back to work. I would of taken the money Obama threw down the drain to that Solar and like project companies, Given 1 million dollars to 5 million government workers for early retirement and hired 5 million qualified under or unemployed people to take their place, and boom, the unemployment rate would drop to about 6 %.

I know you loath Fox, But Dick Morris laid out a plan last night to pass legislation to put these guys on the sidelines. You would be surprised, the we want some of the same things. Jobs, balanced budget, fair taxation, clean air and water, safe streets…….We have some common ground.

Jesus is above politics and his name shouldn’t be mudied by either party. But that’s just my opinion! There are millions of Obama supporters who go to church every Sunday and believe in Jesus.

And actually JB the President does not support gay marriage and the number of abortions have been decreasing across the country for the past decade (check the CDC website for proof).

Notice has some Libs get Vile when any talk of religion comes up. Why the hate. What are they scared of. Unlike Islam, Christians don’t have a convert or die policy. We try to win people to Christ with love and a promise of eternal life.

OK…back to Newt Gingrich (why does a serious topic of discussion morph into such a low-level within the past several posts ?) >> >> it is sad that as of 3/29/12 many people still see Gingrich as a legitimate choice. He should have been seriously discounted when he described his work for Freddie Mac. as that of a historian, and later a strategic adviser. So many people ignored this fact and kept cheering on Gingrich, the consummate insider acting like he is “against the system”. At least Ron Paul called him out on this issue.
Unfortunately, the ignorance is bliss and as time moves forward the ignorant are happy to be automatons. It’s the old in-bred sports obsession where nothing matters except if “my side is winning” and “your side is losing”. Politics reduced to a simple game.

There are a lot of people who want to keep abortion legal, but who believe in reducing the actual numbers of abortion. It is a place where the left and right could come together, but cooler heads should prevail. Just my opinion.

TPaine,
This whole Clown Car Campaign has been laughable from the start. For all those who thin noots walks on water (well let’s get real, flounders about on the surface) just ask the disillusioned legions who are now former campaign employees. Of course, my question for them is ‘what were you thinking’ when you quit a real job and put your children’s food security at risk?
NONE of the republican candidates have presented real, factual, viable plans for digging us out of the tail of the ‘bush depression’. There seems to have been a daily contest to blurt out the most crackpot idea possible hoping for cheers and applause from the assembled gaggle of dimwits.
The whole sector of people who for some reason would ever vote for a republican seems to have either a memory or maybe a character disorder. To recap.
We got in this mess because:
1-The Supreme Court picked the loser to run the country.
2-The ’selected’ Vice President started out with SECRET negotiations with energy producers apparently geared at slow, steady increases in prices and manufactured supply chokes to keep things climbing.
3-We cut taxes for no legitimate reason, purpose or realistic time period hampering adequate collection of revenue for CONTRACTED OBLIGATIONS.
4-We started two unfunded wars, one of which proved to have no legitimate reason other than to settle a family feud.
5-When the whole screwball plan blew up, there was no fallback, because from the outset there was no interest in the fiscal health of the United States and economic stability for her Citizens, there was just an interest to concentrate wealth in the hands of the most reliable campaign contributors and strengthen the hand of hydrocarbon extraction companies.
And there are people here who have the ignorance or audacity to blame President Obama for the inevitable effects of turning the first budget surplus since WWII to the largest deficit in history.
That’s a lot of damned gall!
