Herman Cain nixes appearance on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

A spokeswoman for Herman Cain confirmed this morning that the former GOP presidential candidate was approached by ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” to appear on this season’s competition
.
But Cain nixed the idea. “He can’t dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count,” said Lisa Reichert, Cain’s executive assistant.

Nine-count. Get it? 9-9-9.

“Dancing with the Stars” has learned the advantages of mixing the quick-step with politics. Its 2010 season featured Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin, and former U.S. House majority leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.

But wait, there’s more. USA Today reports that show producers were also eyeing Michele Bachmann.

Competitors for the 2012 season are to be announced Feb. 28. No doubt an attempt to compete for attention with that day’s primaries in Michigan and Arizona.

td, I have no idea who Alan West may be, But, if you are referring to Allen West, I suspect that he’s too busy right now moving to a new district in Florida in an attempt to preserve his current position than to entertain another.

Your numbers were taken before the Wasserman-Shultz insult or the send the liberals packing insult. Which is why the Republican Party of Fla allowed him to be drawn out of his district. West should be more concerned with winning re-election to his district than national office.

If Im not mistaken President Obama won West’s district in 2008 and every recent poll of Florida I’ve seen has him beating Romney and Newt statewide.

WOW….your polls are wrong. Right now Romney is leading in Floriday in nearly every poll. Obama will not carry Florida this time.

WOW….my point was that it is a virtual tie. I just do not think that Obama is going to carry Florida. There is still a long way to go.

Large unfavorabilities, which is why he had to change districts.

I can’t believe that Herman turned down a national TV audience on a show that gets great ratings. I’m sure that the thought of showing up for practice every week and having to discipline one’s self for a number of weeks was overwhelming for him.

Of course the numbers are wrong. Never mind the other antidotal evidence behind the numbers, changing districts, etc…

So the man is moving to a safer district with more conservatives in it. How many times has that happened in Georgia? Does Barrow come to mind.

My point is that he would make a great VP for someone like Romney because he has the Tea Party and hard core conservative credibility. He would also pull Obama’s numbers down in the African American from 96% to maybe 90%.

Herman can’t be seen dancing – he’s a Baptist preacher!

Dancing is the #2 sin right behind being a DEMOCRAT!

It would be interesting though if his “partner” was Newt’s wife; preachers love other men’s’ wives more than fried chicken.

It really bothers you that blacks basically prefer to vote for Obama doesn’t it? Did you get this upset in 2004 when 58 million mostly white voters elected that never to be mentioned again dude from Texas?

Three of the GOP candidates have about as much chance as a “snowball in hell in winning the POTUS Run those ads Romney….don’t be timid!!! You are the only candidate that can compete with the incumbent. Stand your ground and don’t let some of the biased media “rain on your parade” You have done your homework; planned your strategy and are in it for the long haul. Beware of the distractors in Ga, Ala, Miss and maybe Michigan. You are the best candidate, IMO
