Winning Our Future, the Super PAC acting on behalf of Newt Gingrich, has launched this ad in Iowa – an appeal for the most conservative heart of that state’s GOP:
The eye-popping message:
”Don’t let the liberal Republican establishment pick our candidate.”

For the last 15 years Newt has been the ideal member of the Liberal Republican Establishment..
But there are enough Republican voters who are ignorant of his background to take his dangling bait hook. line and sinker.
One should refer to his PhD dissertation on “Belgian Education Policy in the Congo” to understand that Newt’s worldview is driven by Congolese anti-colonial resentment of white European domination of a subject peoples.

“For the last 15 years Newt has been the ideal member of the Liberal Republican Establishment.”
Ain’t that the truth, Newt wrote this a few years back,
“The most exciting development of the past few weeks is what has been happening up in Massachusetts. The health bill that Governor Romney signed into law this month has tremendous potential to effect major change in the American health system. We agree entirely with Governor Romney and Massachusetts legislators that our goal should be 100% insurance coverage for all Americans.”

The Republican Tea Party is on the wrong side of history. Extend the Bush Tax cuts for zillionaires but raise the payroll tax on the working poor. Allow banks to swindle their way to record “profits” but terminate unemployment insurance to those who need it for food. Give BP a tax break to put oil in the Gulf of Mexico but call for the end of the Department of Energy. Americans have become a kind of international laughing stock.

A clarification is different from a contradiction. Conservative means slow to change. It’s hard to believe that people still think (and post that they do although under a pseudonym) Barak Obama is “Kenyan” or a socialist. I thought having a the President’s birth certificate “long form” put in Trump’s mouth would shut him and most everybody up about his citizenship. I realize that the people who accuse Obama of being a socialist have no concept of the word but it would seem that a president whose policy has lower marginal tax rates than Reagan (Reagan had a top marginal tax rate of 50%!!!) would be heralded by conservatives.
Reagan was a commie with his highly progressive tax rates! Obama is moderate relative to that wealth redistributing, class warefare, commie pinko forn’r (California) Reagan.

The supporters of Newt are very soon to forget his hypocrisy and dishonesty in his political and personnal life. What amazes me about some politicians or candidates is that they are aware of their ugly histories, Newt and Herman for example and they know that nothing is a secret and these two dopes decided to run for the highest office in the land. Do they really believe that it won’t hurt them?
The once proud GOP has turned into a “clown car” in a bad circus. I am embarrassed that this is the best the GOP can do. I am embarrassed that the world is watching this nonsense and scratching their collective heads. The best the GOP can do is to have people like Newt, Cain, Bachmann and Perry occupy the favorite candidate position during the “clown car” trip across the US. It is an embarrassment to watch this.

Clinton was President and could not write or a pass a balanced budget. This is a function of congress. All Clinton could do is to sign or veto the bill. Newt sent Welfare reform to Clinton 4 times before he signed it.
The day Bush left office gas prices were $1:81 per gallon. They did spike due to Katrina and other hurricanes in the gulf that shut down production. What is Obama’s excuse?

Clinton was President and could not write or a pass a balanced budget. This is a function of congress. All Clinton could do is to sign or veto the bill.
Basically you’re arguing semantics. Of course Clinton signed it into law, ergo “he passed it.”

Darvoset Spending and td should both take a deep breath and relax because Newt is going to go happily back to his lucrative speaking and consulting business once the voters in South Carolina and Florida have their say, and our friend, Jim Galloway, will be forced to focus on another “not Romney” candidate. Jim, I thought you spent way too much time on Herman Cain and now it’s the same for Gingrich. The real story, as I see it, is where does the GOP “establishment” go once Romney has dispatched the midgets, and how does that “establishment” continue to keep the Tea Party engaged once they don’t have Bachmann or Paul to support.

If passing the budget is the function of Congress and thus conservatives proclaim that Clinton can’t take credit for passing balanced budgets, then why do conservatives blaime Obama for the current budget deficits? Back on topic: Jim Galloway and the MSM don’t have to bash Republican candidates on their proposed policies, just watch their ads. Has Cantor published a budget with numbers yet?

What the heck is “Excess City Paid Life insurance, and what regulation did Obama implement to cause the taxes to increase?” Why hasn’t Newt proposed that the amount of the payroll tax holiday be simply a permanent tax cut for the middle class? That way Mitch McConnell can say that they don’t have to be paid for, won’t cause a deficit, and the 1%’ers can keep creating jobs.

It is way to early to predict if Obama will be re elected but I will predict that it will be very close and the dirtiest campaign since Andrew Jackson because Obama can not run on his record so he must run a negative campaign against the Republican nominee. Georgia will not be close. Obama will lose by at least 7 or 8% points (just like Barnes did 2 years ago). Obama may carry 10 counties in Georgia. Every county north of Atlanta will vote for the Republican nominee by over 70%. Most of south Georgia will do the same.

And everyone got off topic. Fact remains: Gingrich lacks any shred of integrity after feeding at the K Street trough for over a decade and espousing whatever he has been paid to say. People of all political stripes can see the obvious, unless of course you wear blinders. Lashing out against the “liberal Republicans” is the act of a desperate campaign going down in flames. But I am sure Newt is laughing all the way to the bank as he hawks his books and prepares to belly back up to the K Street trough.

Bottom Line,
I guess the next election will show how thick-headed the GA electorate is.
Republicans have had the state by the short hairs since 2003 and all economic indicators have trended straight down. All ethics considerations have been abolished, shredded or simply ignored. Lofty ill-conceived projects that fail to function or are downright un-constitutional (see Dan Webers charter fiasco) are funded from other sources.
And that doesn’t even scratch the stellar record on transportation.
So will GA wake up and realize better government requires ‘balance’ or just close their minds and pick the one who claims to be ‘most conservative’.
Apparently, ‘most conservative’ translates to ‘least likely to govern effectively’ in some language.
For more information, see the ‘republican clown car’ at the national level.

Could you add a dictionary link for Americans who don’t seem to know what the word ‘liberal’ means
2 liberal -
Liberal is a person with liberal views. However, an EXTREME liberal is the WORST type of person. To start with they brainwash people. Then they convince you that their pre made views they hand to you are open minded. They tell you to hate Republicans and everyone who thinks differently than you. They are the first to throw around the word racist. Most extreme liberal abuse minorities. They look for a group typically blacks or hispanics, convince them they are nothing and need the liberals to survive, then exploit them for political power. Extreme liberals are usually igorant but claim everyone else is. They pretend to be looking out for the people but are only looking out for themselves. Some day people will realize this is the truth.

@honested. Looking on the bright side, Gov. Deal is far more ethical than his predecessor was. The present state of politics in Georgia is indicative of the failings of Georgia’s school, public and private at every level, in their lack of success in teaching critical thinking. Not sure if the Republicans’ ethics are any better or worse than the Democrats’ when they controlled the state. The Republicans are just more shameless. Just a cursory glance at the self-serving actions of Sonny proves this. But then he grew up as a Democrat. At some point, hopefully we will mature enough as a society to look beyond political labels and only at the person running for office. In the meantime, the tea party crazies, who truly do not understand what it means to be a true conservative, decided calling someone a “Liberal” is the most convenient epithet to throw at someone they don’t like. Everyone is so busy posturing and calling each other names, it is impossible to have a serious exchange of ideas. The Tea Party folks would run Jesus out of town for being too “Liberal.”

I think it’s obvious that the GOP could run the now-deceased Cheetah of Tarzan fame as their candidate in 2012, and most would agree that voting for a dead chimp would be better than voting for Obama.
Is it any wonder that the same crowd is willing to cast their support to Newt Gingrich, who is only a few clicks down the food chain from the venerable Cheetah?

Newest polling data for Iowa shows Ron Paul with a narrow lead over Romney. Newt is trailing by double digits.
FiveThirtyEight.com has Paul with a 56% chance of winning Iowa, Romney at 35% and Newt at 3%.
Iowa as a caucus state has some interesting voter registration quirks which could quickly shift the numbers at the last minute but the monentum for Newt is currently in full retreat. I don’t see the ad above as something that will be particularly effective in reversing that.
I think Newt needs to try and secure a solid 3rd in Iowa. Should his slide continue and he finishes worse (bested by Bachman or Santorum), he will have some money issues heading into SC and Florida and his expected wins there will be much narrower margins than currently anticipated.
Not ready to count Newt out just yet, but the “Cain” bounce appears to have a very limited shelf life.
