Lets see, I said Deal would be our governor 6 months before the election and was attacked way worse then you all are doing now. Did I win that argument?
I said the US House would return to Republican control due to Obamacare and the stimulus package. Did I win that argument?
I said all statewide elected officials would go to the Republicans. Did I win that argument?
I said illegal immigration reform would pass in Georgia to great guile from the left. Did I win that argument?
All of these arguments were greeted with many, many detractors saying no way it will happen.
Here are a few other predictions that I have argued.
The US Senate will be controlled by the Republicans after the next election.
The US House will remain in control of the Republicans.
The SCOTUS will rule Obamacare is unconstitutional.
Will I win these arguments? Time will tell.

The Republicans may hold the House, but the Democrats will keep the Senate as more and more Americans see the need to counter balance the tea party crazed and controlled House. And Obama will be reelected! And it will be a close race in Georgia. Most Americans are tired of the “I can’t give enough tax breaks to the idle rich” Republicans.

There are 23 Democrats up for re election including 10 in red states. There are 10 Republicans up for re election and only one is in a blue state. The Republicans only have to win 4 of the 23 Democratic races to take control of the Senate. It will happen.
It is way to early to predict if Obama will be re elected but I will predict that it will be very close and the dirtiest campaign since Andrew Jackson because Obama can not run on his record so he must run a negative campaign against the Republican nominee. Georgia will not be close. Obama will lose by at least 7 or 8% points (just like Barnes did 2 years ago). Obama may carry 10 counties in Georgia. Every county north of Atlanta will vote for the Republican nominee by over 70%. Most of south Georgia will do the same.

And everyone got off topic. Fact remains: Gingrich lacks any shred of integrity after feeding at the K Street trough for over a decade and espousing whatever he has been paid to say. People of all political stripes can see the obvious, unless of course you wear blinders. Lashing out against the “liberal Republicans” is the act of a desperate campaign going down in flames. But I am sure Newt is laughing all the way to the bank as he hawks his books and prepares to belly back up to the K Street trough.

I guess the next election will show how thick-headed the GA electorate is.
Republicans have had the state by the short hairs since 2003 and all economic indicators have trended straight down. All ethics considerations have been abolished, shredded or simply ignored. Lofty ill-conceived projects that fail to function or are downright un-constitutional (see Dan Webers charter fiasco) are funded from other sources.
And that doesn’t even scratch the stellar record on transportation.
So will GA wake up and realize better government requires ‘balance’ or just close their minds and pick the one who claims to be ‘most conservative’.
Apparently, ‘most conservative’ translates to ‘least likely to govern effectively’ in some language.

They look for a group typically blacks or hispanics, convince them they are nothing and need the liberals to survive, then exploit them for political power. @honested. Looking on the bright side, Gov. Deal is far more ethical than his predecessor was. The present state of politics in Georgia is indicative of the failings of Georgia’s school, public and private at every level, in their lack of success in teaching critical thinking. Not sure if the Republicans’ ethics are any better or worse than the Democrats’ when they controlled the state. The Republicans are just more shameless. Just a cursory glance at the self-serving actions of Sonny proves this. But then he grew up as a Democrat. At some point, hopefully we will mature enough as a society to look beyond political labels and only at the person running for office. In the meantime, the tea party crazies, who truly do not understand what it means to be a true conservative, decided calling someone a “Liberal” is the most convenient epithet to throw at someone they don’t like. Everyone is so busy posturing and calling each other names, it is impossible to have a serious exchange of ideas. The Tea Party folks would run Jesus out of town for being too “Liberal.”
