Maybe because it is not a tax cut but instead a reduction in an insurance premium and is going to be a huge problem. Medicare and Social Security are intended to protect the health of seniors and prevent them from falling into poverty. That the system has been gamed to shift the premiums (and shield many who will be using the services from paying adequate premiums) should not continue as part of the system.
I see no problem with collecting from everyone even if the percentage diminishes with increased income. The ‘cap’ was always an arbitrary and foolish idea.
That you dislike the idea makes me grin from ear to ear.
