Nine reindeer, but not fat guy, given special clearance to enter Georgia

Ladies and gentlemen, the Political Insider and the rest of the AJC family thank you for your kind attention this year. A vacation now looms, and is likely to stretch until after Christmas. And then on to Iowa. We’re shutting down commenting on this blog until I return.

In the meantime, in the spirit of the season, we offer this Monday news release:

Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Gary W. Black has granted a special 24-hour permit waiving the routine identification and other health requirements for nine flying reindeer slated to visit Georgia on the evening of December 24 into the early morning hours of December 25.

The permit application was filed this week by a North Pole toymaker who signed the paperwork “S. Claus.” The reindeer named on the permit are: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen and Rudolph.

Identification, laboratory testing and certificates of veterinary inspection are part of the state’s health requirements which assist the Georgia Department of Agriculture in protecting the health of animals in the state by preventing the introduction of diseases.

“After consulting with our state veterinarian, I concluded this team of reindeer will not violate any of our biosecurity measures to keep out animal diseases,” said Commissioner Black. “Mr. Claus presented impeccable records. And as it was explained to me, the reindeer will be moving quickly, will only prance and paw on rooftops and will not intermingle with any livestock in Georgia.

“I personally signed this permit because these flying reindeer do not pose a threat to agriculture – and to cut down on paperwork. The only paperwork and red tape this jolly old elf should have to worry with now are the gift wrapping and ribbons used to decorate the gifts he distributes,” said Commissioner Black. “I and the employees of the Georgia Department of Agriculture wish Mr. Claus safe travels as he and his reindeer make deliveries to the good children of Georgia.”

Black makes no mention of it, but we would also advise S. Claus to have the proper passport and driver’s license, and to keep these documents on his person at all times while he remains in Georgia air space.

Claus may have more clout that German-born Mercedes Benz executive swept up by Alabama’s illegal immigration law. But it would be best not to test it.

He doesn’t need any of those things up in Dalton. He could even trade his reindeer for a really charp chort at one of Dalton’s numerous Hispanic used car lots, that are brimming with SUV’s, in anticipation of the 10’s of thousands of fraudulently obtained, earned income tax credit checks, compliments of those zaney Americans who pay taxes. Feliz navidad, amigos.

Santa? That sounds like a Mexican name!

There is no way Santa should be allowed to travel freely in Georgia, he is a terrible role model for our children. Santa is a socialist. He delivers free gifts to our children. FREE. At a very young age our children are taught that they can get something for nothing. Our children are growing up and becoming liberals. First it’s an toy AK-47, next its a Hope scholarship. Then Food Stamps and Welfare.

Allow those reindeer access to Georgia??? Hell no! I say we hunt them down and eat them for Christmas dinner.

Just say NO to socialism!!!

Easy td, Santa is a Democrat. If he were a Republican, he’d be lobbying Georgia for a tax credit with a threat not to bring his business here if we don’t give him, say, $28 million.

Santa can not be a Democrat. If he was then we would have a government agency set up to make sure all the presents are politically correct and age appropriate. Santa would not be allowed to come down the chimney because it would violate some EPA rule. If Santa was a Democrat then all the elf’s would be in a union. If Santa was a Democrat then he would listen to PETA and the reindeer could not fly the sleigh because it may hurt them. If Santa was a Democrat then we would surly have a special tax set up to make sure the poor were given the exact same presents as the rich.

“The reindeer named on the permit are: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen and Rudolph.”

A crazy Republican legislator in Georgia is introducing a bill that will officially change the reindeer names. Next Christmas you will be hearing this,

“Now, Bagger! now, Bagger! now, Banker and Dixie!
On, Profit! on Adultrie! on, Ronnie and Limbaugh!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all hope”

This article out today on American thinker should get all you libs in the Christmas cheer by them outing the so called main stream media. Since I know most of you will not click on the link I thought in the spirit of sharing during the Christmas holiday I would share a paragraph with you:

“In contrast, did you know that Barack Obama was accused of some shocking behavior? Larry Sinclair, a man, told a story about how in 1999, he shared a limo with Obama, they did some lines of cocaine together, and then Larry orally gratified Obama. Larry outed Obama on YouTube, because no news outlet showed interest in his story. Instead of spending every waking moment hounding Obama about this accuser, the news media did everything they could to forget that Larry Sinclair ever existed. The ones who could not forget about Sinclair, did everything they could to discredit him. Pretty much the same thing that was done to all of the accusers of Bill Clinton.”

Let hear all the bashing begin.

td, having watched the videos of both ms white (and dale russell interview) and sinclair, it is easy to ask for following. why isn’t a fox news station in chicago interviewing him? were there any phone calls setting up the second meeting? if so can records be provided? hotel receipts? limo rental? at least ms white provided phone records, which led russell to call the number that cain answered. cain admitted to a relationship. does it prove a sexual encounter, maybe not. but given the circumstantial evidence that has been provided in both cases, i would bet you ms white’s story is more believable to the majority of sane americans.

td, while it may make a point, the comparison is a bit of a stretch. what you fail to mention is the republicans are always touting family values, at least folks like santorum, bachmann, gingrich…..the dems pitch on family values is tamer in comparison.

it is really telling that a candidate like huntsman cannot get traction.

i’d prefer policy debate myself…but it takes some time to absorb and research what candidates say and let’s face it most folks won’t do it.

Nice try Mr. Commissioner, but there are problems….

PETA will protest that the reindeers are being mistreated by being tethered to a sleigh.

The Democratic National Committee will inquire as to whether or not the reindeers reflect an ethnic and gender balance suitable to our politically correct world.

N.O.W. will protest that the sleigh is being operated by a male. SCLC will protest the fact that the male is white.

Occupy Atlanta will protest in case any child gets a toy higher in value than any other child.

AARP will be mad that only children get toys.

The Unions will protest that the elves who made the toys are not unionized.

Conservative Christians will lament the emphasis on Santa, while Jewish groups will lament any emphasis on “Christmas”.

Shall I continue, or have I made my point about the current state of “peace on earth and goodwill to men…uh, I mean… creatures”.

If Santa were a democrat, then the Grinch would have been aborted using federal matching funds. The reindeers would receive tax credits for their deer-pies for use as an alternative fuel. If Santa were a democrat then nobody would get a piece of coal in their stockings, not even if they were bad all year, because of EPA bans.

Aw, things would be so much better if only Santa were a democrat.
