On the floor of the U.S. Senate today, 48 hours before LSU and Georgia meet for the SEC championship, Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson both gave tributes to the late voice of the Bulldogs, Larry Munson.
Chambliss went first:
Chambliss spoke of Munson’s “bipartisan” appeal:
”That term to this man meant he was respected by Georgia Tech fans as well as University of Georgia football fans.”
Isakson followed:
Said Isakson, in part:
”It’s said that the Southeastern Conference, football is not a game, it’s a religion. In that analogy, if it’s a religion in the Southeastern Conference, Larry Munson was the high priest.”

I DO NOT BELIEVE LARRY WOULD HAVE WANTED TO HAVE BEEN MENTIONED BY EITHER OF THESE USELESS IDIOTS. MUNSON WAS ABOVE “WASHINGTON”….

As someone who has met both of these fine Senators I can honestly say that Georgia is lucky to have such fine me representing them in the United States Senate. Thank you Senators for your tribute to Larry Munson. Go Dawgs. Beat LSU.

I thought Republicans were no-nonsense, waste-cutting, small government types. But they have no problems wasting time on fluff like this, and yes, it costs money. They’re both horrible, horrible people.

Maybe they should be more focused on the payroll tax debate than this…. I love Munson and all, but this is exactly why Congress has a 9% approval rating
