More on the political side of Atlanta baseball

Sigh. We’ve written before about the politicization of Major League Baseball.

Last month gave us a Civil Rights game. Today is Ronald Reagan Tribute Day at Turner Field.

And Eric Gray, spokesman for the Georgia Democratic party, just sent this note:

Georgia Democrats will be out in full force at this Sunday’s Latino Fan Fest with the Gwinnett Braves. While celebrating America’s pastime, the Latino Caucus of the Democratic Party of Georgia will be registering new voters before the Braves take on the Durham Bulls.

The registration drive will start at noon, followed by the game at 2:05 pm. Afterward, kids may run the bases and mingle with their favorite Gwinnett Braves players.

“Anyone who volunteers to help with voter registration will get a free ticket to the game,” said Carolyn Rodriguez-Monden, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia’s Latino Caucus.

Telemundo will be sponsoring and promoting the event, which will showcase the diversity within the Hispanic culture with authentic food, traditional music and folkloric dance performances.

Gee, I don’t suppose any ILLEGAL immigrants might somehow get on those registration rolls. It’s not like it has ever been done before by Democratic Party community organizers like the ACORN group, huh?

This type of illegal activity is now openly transparent without embarrassment. Sort of like that Weiner Congressman who says there is no reason to resign.

Hey Centrist,

Voter fraud is not limited to Dems. A family friend of ours went to college in Alabama, registered as a voter there, and voted in the 2004 and 2008 elections. Then, he came back to Smyrna, and voted again using his parents’ address. He’s a die-hard Republican voter, and he saw nothing wrong with it. I just wonder how often that happens.

Pretty pathetic.

Muchos gracias Ronald Reagan! Ronald Reagan is the Padre of our country. God Bless you President Ronald Reagan for giving amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Those millions are now voting for Democrats. Their children are now voting for Democrats. Grand kids too.

Thank you Ronald Reagan, you are far more effective than ACORN. Mucho mas.

While I’m sure there is voter fraud on all sides – when it is historically an organized Democratic Party big city and ethnic groups endeavor, it only is considered equal and offsetting by fellow Democrats.

And this is the exact reason why only military or government officials serving abroad should be allowed to vote absentee. Everyone else should only be allowed to vote in person on the day of the election. Presidential elections shoul be a national holiday to allow everyone plenty of time to get to the polls.

WTF Are you going on with this B.S. “Sigh” business? Why not register every entitled voter? What is wrong with that? How many damn GOP’ers are NASCAR events, Jimbo?

There is no great voter fraud. It’s an urban legend spread by the right wing to keep those more likely to vote for Democrats away from the polls. Yet continually cited by the GOP and it’s compliant media types to say there is.

I’d take 10 mexican immigrants over one of you lazy georgians any day. Why don’t you start saying that those darn Cubans and Dominicans are taking jobs away from white americans by playing baseball here too?

“Sigh”? What a tool you are somedays.

Latino Fan Fest with the Gwinnett Braves would be the PERFECT opportunity to put the new law against illegal immigration, HB 87, to the test and conduct an immigration raid, especially in Gwinnett County where everyone’s immigration status is automatically checked upon entry to the jail through the 287(g) program. We could pick off illegals by the thousands during that game.

I don’t suppose any ILLEGAL immigrants might somehow get on those registration rolls (since all registrations must be verified by the Secretary of State). It’s not like it has ever been done before (in more than 60-years) by Democratic Party community organizers (who have since switched parties and now blame groups) like the ACORN group (who simply faked registrations because they got paid by the number of cards turned it, but not one made it to the Karen Handel’s voter rolls). Got it!!! Now to the game. Sounds like a fun event, and I hope they are able to register as many qualified citizens as possible.

How dumb for the Latino Caucus of the Democratic Party of Georgia to sponsor the event, even dumber for an illegal Lationo to attend. The event / promo manager for the G Braves will soon be without a job.

I picked up a kid at Home Depot to help me clear the tree damage from my property. He was Horatio from Honduras. He was maybe 20. He weighed maybe 120 pounds. He worked harder and with more drive and energy than anyone I’ve ever seen. I CANNOT IMAGINE AN AMERICAN KID, WHITE OR BLACK, WHO WOULD WORK LIKE HE DID.

“The Centrist” only deals in facts, wants to learn, and enjoys debate and discussion without name calling. If there is a problem with a comment, please address the issue with facts. Now to the game, the Braves moved their minor league team from Richmond to Gwinnett in part because their average attendance was less than 6,200. With an average attendance of 4,800, it has proved that having a minor league team in a metro area of a major league team is not feasible.

Cast your stones, stupid liberal hypocrits and stop exploiting and torturing the illegals. (because the minimum wage is too low to entice “Americans” to work for what citizens in third world countries and rural US communities consider middle class wages.) Why else would John Deal want to use prison labor to work in the field to offset the migrate worker problem? This will make matters worse.

Anybody remember when:
1- Blacks were STRONGLY discouraged from voting, because they likely wouldn’t vote for the white Southern Democratic candidate?
2- The Republican party courted Black voters as a way of gaining a foothold in the South?
3- The once “solid south” suddenly turned against the national Democratic party when the Civil Rights Act was passed despite strong and violent opposition by Southern Democrats?
4- Five Southern States, Georgia included, went for George Wallace(1968)rather than the Democrat or Republican? (forget about the Dixicrats during the 50’s).
5- Many southern politicans went with the money and converted to Republican?

Just as our Southern ancestors, we’ll vote for any party that will let us keep it for ourselves, discourage undesireable voters, who we don’t won’t to associate with or like, and preserve a system for the privileged (all you self-made wealthy people, unless you won the lottery, you probably earned your wealth through the efforts of others). Show me a person that did it all alone and I’ll show you someone before the stone age.

Make no mistake; if you are wealthy, you’re privleged to had the good fortune to live in this Country. If you can’t remember any of the above, then you are either senile or historically challenged.

This is from a native Georgian, Great Grandson of a Confederate Captain, a veteran, and a believer I don’t need to earn a million dollars a year to prove my importance or worth.

The Centrist, I don’t picture them having a Millard Fillmore day at the Braves since he was a Whig from Western, NY state. In fact in lived and practiced law from East Aurora, New York a suburb of Buffalo. He was the VP of Andrew Jackson who was from Virginia. Andrew Jackson died in office, and Millard Filmore became President.

My daughter is a direct descendant on her father’s side of Andrew Jackson. I grew up in East Aurora, NY where the Millard Fillmore house is a preseved landmark.

Perhaps the Minor league team in Buffalo, will have a Millard Fillmore day. I will have to ask my nephew as he works for that team. But I highly doubt the Atlanta team or their Gwinnett team would.
