The first GOP casualty: Haley Barbour says no to ‘12 presidential race

Here’s the statement posted on the web site of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour:

“I will not be a candidate for president next year. This has been a difficult, personal decision, and I am very grateful to my family for their total support of my going forward, had that been what I decided.

“Hundreds of people have encouraged me to run and offered both to give and raise money for a presidential campaign. Many volunteers have organized events in support of my pursuing the race. Some have dedicated virtually full time to setting up preliminary organizations in critical, early states and to helping plan what has been several months of intensive activity.

“I greatly appreciate each and every one of them and all their outstanding efforts. If I have disappointed any of them in this decision, I sincerely regret it.

“A candidate for president today is embracing a ten-year commitment to an all-consuming effort, to the virtual exclusion of all else. His (or her) supporters expect and deserve no less than absolute fire in the belly from their candidate. I cannot offer that with certainty, and total certainty is required.

“This decision means I will continue my job as Governor Mississippi, my role in the Republican Governors Association and my efforts to elect a new Republican president in 2012, as the stakes for the nation require that effort to be successful.”

I wonder . . .

I wonder why, if Hussein’s birth certificate existed all this time, why it is being made public now? I wonder if said birth certificate would be willingly turned over to a competent crime lab document examiner for the necessary testing to authenticate it?
It would be necessary, to remove all concerns, that it be turned over to someone other than a federal government employee. Such testing can determine the age of the paper, the manufacturer of the paper, the ink type and source and the brand and model of the typewriter, if a typewriter was used.

I wonder . . .

Brian Williams: “Tonight many Mississippians complaining that the sirens never sounded.”

But only after Haley was able to croak that “job-killing fund-the-sirens tax.”

@double, add “Last Man Standing” to the list. He’s the last so maybe he should go on display at the High Museum or the Smithsonian?

I wonder if Last Man Standing saw Elvis recently and The Virgin Mary in his morning toast? I wonder? Nothing will satisfy Bitter Bigoted Birthers and frankly I don’t think they want to be.

I predicted a year ago that if he ever produced the long form that the State of Hawaii does not even legally recognize anymore for a passport or license they will question the signature. Black magic marker or ball point pen? Brothers typewriter or Royal? Birthers are so predictable, flat-earthers and knuckle-draggers.

I doubt very seriously that I am the last. To repeat my question, why, if this birth certificate was in existence all this time, did Hussein choose this specufuc time to make it available?

“I wonder if Last Man Standing saw Elvis recently and The Virgin Mary in his morning toast? I wonder? Nothing will satisfy Bitter Bigoted Birthers and frankly I don’t think they want to be.”

Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977. No one alive today has seen the Virgin Mary despite the many claims.

“Bigoted Birther”? I see that you have the Hussein and democrat adjectives at work. Bigotry is in the eye of the beholder. The fact that I don’t believe much of anything the teleprompter reading leader of millions of his minions says does not make me either a doctor or midwife. I do not assist in the birth of babies.

“I predicted a year ago that if he ever produced the long form that the State of Hawaii does not even legally recognize anymore for a passport or license they will question the signature. Black magic marker or ball point pen? Brothers typewriter or Royal? Birthers are so predictable, flat-earthers and knuckle-draggers. ”

Your description of those who do not share your mindless, accepting beliefs is hardly flattering, but since I don’t give a damn what you think, matters not to me.
