Michele Bachmann trumps The Donald, declares birther dispute ‘settled’
On ABC’s “Good Morning America” this morning, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachman, tea partyist and possible GOP presidential rival to Donald Trump, was shown a certified copy of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. She declared the matter “settled:”
The transcript at the 4:10″ mark:
George Stephanopoulos: Well, I have the president’s certificate right here. It’s certified, it’s got a certification number. It’s got the registrar of the state signed. It’s got a seal on it. And it says “this copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding.”
Bachmann: Well, then that should settle it.
Stephanopoulos: So it’s over?
Bachmann: That’s what should settle it. I take the president at his word and I think– again I would have no problem and apparently the president wouldn’t, either. Introduce that, we’re done. Move on.

I just love it when people start with the whole spiel about “Why doesn’t Obama just show his BC?” People, the damn thing has been seen and verified several times over. Even Moonbat Bachmann has accepted this fact. Obama (hell, no president) is under any obligation to personally release his BC. His birth place has been authenticated, but we all know these birther nutjobs will never be satisfied. Let them continue to wallow in that pool of crazy.
LMS, Obama has his faults, but I have no regrets voting for him. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this country would have been extremely screwed had McCain/Palin won, mainly due to Palin. That shrew does not need to be anywhere near the White House.

The economy is in a shambles from the real estate bubble, due largely from an utter lack of oversight during George $#’s watch; ditto for the job market being abysmal (yet corporate earnings are at an all-time high); the national debt was tripled under Reagan and doubled under W (it’s up a whopping 18% under Obama); and regarding foreign relations, did George even know he could travel outside the US?

Absolutely not. The true puppet masters place these people in power to work toward their agenda. When we vote it’s done on a computer. You can make the results from a computer say anything. There’s no way to know for sure if your vote was counted for your candidate or not. So it goes a bit deeper than someone investigating a birth certificate. The certificate is just an example of how gullable we as citizens are. Some of you believe we must “win” in 2012. This is a prime example of people falling for the Democrat vs. Republican hoax. The two party system was put in place to divide America. My side against your side. People are so wraped up in this drama that they don’t notice the big picture. All of them are on the same team! They talk big and play the part very well. But at the end of the day the bills get passed and the football game continues. Wake up America.

LOL I live in this corrupt state of Hawaii and I can tell you first hand how inept this state is! Goodluck Trump, its probably not a real birth certificate. The legal system and medical profession here are SERIOUSLY LACKING. The truth is they probably lost it! This state is full of incompetent idiots! These people obsessed with this birth certificate issue really crack me up. Just mad because they lost in last Presidential election, and want something to get Obama on. If really don’t like him, answer is to make sure he is not re-elected in 2012, not worry about this “dead ” issue. Trump is just using it to get more attention, like he always does.

The Republicans plan to gut Medicare is very unpopular. The majority want Medicare preserved as is, along with Medicaid.
The public wants a tax increase on the wealthy.
All of the polls are showing the same results as the one released today WaPost/ABC,
78% oppose cutting Medicare, 69% opposed cutting Medicaid, while 72% want more the rich to pay more in taxes.
In the mean time, how do the Republicans plan on funding their two wars, Medicare Part D, Dept of Homeland Security and the Bush tax cuts?

Ok, people can agree to disagree about health care, saving General Motors and helping Libyans. But exactly what is it that makes POTUS so monumentally bad? The economy was bad when he took office, we were in two wars and people were out of work. Two years is not long to repair the economic problems we faced, but things are sliding toward better, it seems. The wars still go on but they were always dead ends. What else? I just don’t see the reason for such strong opinions. He’s certainly not great, but not bad by a long shot given what was handed him.

Could it be that people are just parroting the staged anger of the folks getting wealthy off pedaling anger? I would like to give more credit to people. When people voted JCarter out after one term, polls showed he was pretty well liked, but just lost the public’s confidence to lead. It’s only been in the last dozen years or so that people throw down on him with hatred.
