Alec Poitevint placed in charge of 2012 GOP convention

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, just announced that he’s placed Alec Poitevint, former chairman of the Georgia GOP, in charge of the party’s national 2012 convention in Tampa.

Poitevint is a close ally of former Gov. Sonny Perdue, and was part of the anti-Michael Steele faction of the RNC during the recent hostilities. Said Priebus in a news release:

“Poitevint will serve as the new Chairman of the Committee on Arrangements in yet another step towards turning around the RNC and the convention. Alec is a businessman who will help put on a world-class convention worthy of the next President of the United States and do it in a manner that will make our grassroots, donors and delegates proud.

We’ve made the necessary changes to get our convention back on track because it is important to our country and to our Party that we bring in top-notch staff and plan a world-class convention.”

The RNC announced this week that the organization is $23 million in debt.

Mr. Galloway,

Speaking of Republican stra-tee-gery, do we know where Rep. Tom Price (R-6th) spent the past few days? His local office said he was in DC. His DC office said he was in his district “all week.” Rumors had him at the Koch Brothers “rich men have rights” retreat in Palm Spring, CA. We could forgive the Congressman’s moonlighting as a TV pundit, sucking up to Greta, enjoying outdoor “rallies,” and fluffing his resume as a future prime-time personality, because his party was in the minority and he had no actual ideas to contribute. (Not that blanket criticisms of all things “left” and fact-deficient hyperbole aren’t appreciated in the sixth!) But now that the Repubs have taken the House, I feel he should be working at the JOB for which he is being paid, not continuing to feather his own nest while ignoring the needs of the people of this district, state, and country. Am I crazy for thinking he should do some actual WORK for a change? Did he mean what he said about “transparency?”

Breaking news!

Representative Tom Price has been investigating someone for impersonating a human with a brain. Rumor has it that he is hot on the trail of one code-named GaBlue. While the investigation is still “under wraps”, details will be made available as soon as possible.

Last Man Standing,

I’ll bet you’re a hoot and a half at parties, aren’t you? Your representatives at all levels must LUUUUUV you for not bothering to hold them accountable for anything they say or do. It’s working out SO WELL for them! I hope they sent you Christmas cards to thank you for your inattention. After all, our Representative Republic only works [for them] if you refuse to partipate. Nice job!

Breaking Republican News!!!!! 1/2 Governor Sara Palin was thrilled today when she found out that the Republican Party would be holding it’s National Convention in Charlotte North Carolina. After being informed that it was the Democrat Convention and not the Republican Party. She claim it was another communist plot to fool the American People again..

Reince Priebus … Alec Poitevint. Is there some reason the GOP thinks it’s necessary to front guys with un-pronounceable names?

More breaking news!

It has been rumored that the KKK has become active again in GA. Sources close to the investigation say that they have identified the head of the new KKK. When asked to identify the new leader, our source would only say that he is referred to as “gm”.

GaBlue:

I would probably “partipate” if I only knew what the word meant.

Just another jab at the Reagan legacy misinformation campaign spun by GOP & Co.:

An unexpected taste from the words of David Stockman. Reagan’s first budget director:

“The Reagan Revolution was a Lincoln Day Dinner speech. It never happened in the real world of fiscal policy. During the 1980’s, Big Government got bigger and the Federal tax burden was just shuffled, not reduced. The main fiscal legacy of the Reagan era is that the Federal debt was raised from $1 trillion to $3 trillion. Unfortunately, when the economy rebounded after Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker’s conquest of runaway inflation, Republicans embraced the dangerous shibboleth that deficit-financed tax cuts are good for growth…”
