A White House declaration for Auburn. Really.

Via Twitter, my AJC colleague Aaron Sheinin, whose primary character flaw is an unfortunate association with the University of South Carolina, posed the most important national security question of the weekend to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs:

Many thanks to Jason Pye for helping out with the video-editing.

Even though I am from Alabama and like to see both the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and Auburn win, I am now certain to be a South Carolina fan during this game. There is no bigger horse’s @$$ than Robert Gibbs.

It stands to reason that a political spin doctor would be pulling for the Barners and $cam Newton. Wow, what’s next? Maybe Jessie Jackson can come out and talk about how ethical Cecil Newton is.

Democrats are the only and i mean only party that really cares about all the people living in the USA. The Republicans are just the rich country club set and those who tag along on their coattails who think they got a good life and are to damn stupid to know better. That goes to most of the state of Georgia. Even the people I see in my job and those in my everyday life in Ga. are not the brightest bulbs in the house. And that goes for those with a so called education.

These comments suggest how polictical affiliation in this country tends to color everything . I mean, it’s a FOOTBALL GAME people! It’s not election day. Doth Mr. Gibb’s rooting for his team of choice, whose campus happens to be located in his city of birth & rearage, and not to mention his parents both worked at Auburn, have to ignite such hate-filled, politically-driven, personal scorn? For God’s sakes! Hell, I’m a Republican, on the side of the political isle diametrically opposed to Mr. Gibbs’ usually, but I too am expecting & hoping for an Auburn victory. The Bulldogs had yet another disappointing season & isn’t winning, so at least a team of southern origin is rep-ing at the top.

Go War Eagles! We can settle other differences at the town hall meeting or ballot box.

It really thrills my heart when I see so many people display their ignorance to the world like all the negative wisdom posted here to this useless video. It has everything from lies, politics, racism and that ever present little dab of redneckness. I will say pray for Cam and the Auburn team and hopefully you goobers keep up your hate I mean wisdom when he is in the NFL. He will be doing something the lot of you put together lack the talent.

Why the republicans prefer stupidity and ignorance over intelligence and compassion is beyond me. Even the poor, religious suckers tend to vote against thier own best interests. Maybe they’re just too intimidated by anyone and anything they consider to be superior. At least that perception is on their part is on target. That probably explains their hatred of Auburn and the best president this country has seen in ten years. War Damn Eagle!

@Eric,

How does the Left best serve my religious intrest? By raisng the cost of insurance? Which forces churches and private charities to do LESS by either cutting the amount of insurance they pay for their employees, or making their employees pay more. Either way both groups are able to do less. What about the democrats who wish to end tax exempt status for churches. What about the 2,000 of Social Security that comes out of myc check as a Christian educator? Being just under 30 years of age it is unlikely that I will ever see any of this money— any of it.
What about the continued emphasis on pushing the gay agenda down our throats. I live and wirk among Fort Bragg soldiers in NC– i educate their children and they are not for lifting dont ask dont tell– but the white house doesnt care. So really, how has OBama helped me– he hasnt. And unless they agree to pass the tax cut extension more money will come out of my check making it even tighter in the checkbook for my family. How does the demotcrat party help me when set aside money for aboritions with my tax dollars– something i disagree with. Because of these things the democrats are not pro-christian and in fact by theur rasing taxes they will hurt us more. Futhermore, the republicans are no help either. The best solution for Indviduals of Faith is the Libertarian party, they stay out of everybodies way!

Considering we (AU) dod not get the true credit we deserve from the national media, we should be happy to get any support regardless if it comes from the white house. So be true to the AUBURN family, and accept ALL support.

Hmmm… we cut taxes for the rich in the 80’s, then raise taxes 13 times on others. We deregulate Savings and Loans – and watch as junk bond artists destroy those community institutions. We deregulate energy and communication watch those prices triple (in the 90’s). We deregulate Wall Street in 1994 — and see a dot com bust and the destruction of community banks, along with our economy. Meanwhile, a half-a-trillion in tax cuts have been delivered in the 00’s yet we lose more jobs than any time in history.

Yeah — the middle class is being served real well…

It seems that you have somehow equated football, which I believe was the subject of this article, with your political leanings, which means that you run left a lot. Anyway, back to the allegory, if politics were indeed football your side would be down by 45 points late in the fourth quarter and your left handed quarterback would be on the side lines licking his wounds.( no reflection on the bull dawgs intended).

Now back to the “rich country club set”, who think they have a good life and are too stupid to know better and according to your comment, that includes “most of the state of Georgia”, lots of really big country clubs in Georgia huh robert? Even your colleagues and friends “are not the brightest bulbs in the house” and you even know some with “a so called education”.

My friend, after reading your post I think I can say without equivocation that you are a man whom has, by his sharp wit and superior intellect, achieved great success, and are most certainly viewed by your peers as Out-Standing in the Field! However your bitterness seem to indicate that your were given the short handled shovel at your last job site…
