CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked former President Bill Clinton how he lost so much weight. “Plants,” he replied. So Clinton may be our first vegan ex-president.

. . . and he didn’t inhale!
He “did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky”.
“It depends on what the definition of “is” is.

Of course, technically speaking, Clinton is not now a vegan if he wears leather shoes, etc. He’s obviously saying he’s on a largely vegan diet. It’s the diet, if it also eliminates most simple carbohydrates and processed foods and contains a large portion of green leafy vegetables, will eliminate at least 80% of heart problems, 30-60 percent of cancer, and numerous other things.
Uncle Jessie–at least Clinton wasn’t a multiple offense drunk driver like Cheney, or a drunk driver/alcoholic like W!!!

I’ll bet he meant people “planted” by Hillary to keep tabs on him.

The discussion should be related to the extreme obesity problem in the US and all of the diet scams.. Instead, I made me wonder how many people have ever heard of Margie Schoedinger or Tammy Phillips? Or which is worse, a consistent sloppy drunk party-animal or an occasional non-inhaler or inhaler for that matter.

People that choose to eat a vegan diet for many reasons. One, as in President Clinton’s case, is for health. This doesn’t necessarily means that not wearing leather or wool, or eating honey are off limits.

If the economy doesn’t improve, many more people will become vegetarians – if they have the land on which to grow the vegetables. If they are lucky, they will have enough land to support a milk cow and chickens.
Good luck to the urban/suburban dwellers . . .

I’m super happy about this! However, not only does he likely still wear leather, but he also said he still eats fish. This means, he is neither vegan nor vegetarian… he’s a pescatarian. However, other than this inaccurate headline, I’m totally happy for him. Hopefully he will continue with the diet and eventually take on the entire vegan lifestyle.

Clinton gets his health advice from the vegan guru of low protein and high-carbohydrates – Dean Ornish.
But it didn’t prevent him from needing a stent however.

If he bought the leather belt and shoes before becoming Vegan, then to throw them away would be wasteful and wrong. He should use them until they are no longer usable and then purchase vegan products to replace them. Haven’t your ever read Veganomicon?

Yeah, if he eats fish, he’s a pescatarian.

I’ve done the same diet that Bill Clinton has for the last 5 months. Read Dr. Esselstyn’s book (www.heartattackproof.com) I’ve lost 25 lbs, cholesterol went from 199 to 130. Blood pressure is normal. Down 3 pant sizes and have WAY MORE energy after getting off milk, cows, chicken, eggs, fish and pork. Proof is in the results. Good for you Bill. Didn’t like you as prez #42 but I love you now.
Go Bill!

I would like to become a vegan….not there yet. I have three stents
and heart attacks run in my family. I have not had any coffee or soft drinks (diets included) for over six months. I do drink teas and Crystal Light. Drink a lot of water with just fresh lemon in restaurants. Take individual CL’s in single packages. Saves a lot…

I think he’s jealous that Rush is down to 205, so he decided to lose weight too.
j/k. I have eliminated meat and drinking milk. Some cheese though. I’ve lost weight and normalized by blood pressure. Lost 10 pounds too.
