Democratic Governors Association sends $1 million to Georgia for Roy Barnes

The Democratic Governors Association just confirmed that it sent an additional $1 million to Georgia this week in support of Democrat Roy Barnes’ return as governor.

The DGA had already given $500,000 to the state Democratic party in August.

So somebody doesn’t believe that SurveyUSA poll, released Monday, that showed Republican Nathan Deal with an 11-point lead.

Emily Bittner, spokeswoman for the DGA, characterized the cash infusion as a show of faith in Barnes’ November chances. Bittner also referenced the AJC article that this morning outlined the precarious nature of Deal’s personal checkbook.

“[Deal’s] personal finances are in no shape for him to run the state’s finances,” Bittner said.

The Republican Governors Association has been spending a boatload on TV ads in Georgia, attacking Barnes – but a total amount hasn’t yet been disclosed.

I don’t think he’ll need the $1M after Deal’s campaign imploded today.

Roy is gonna have to get on the grind if he wants to win this upcoming election. He’s commercials haven’t even been hitting as hard as Deal’s.

So since Barnes started the attack ads, he’s actually dropped tow percentage points?

There’s an old saying about the first thing you should do when you find yourself in a hole….

khc, So what cause is right? To have a governor that has already made millions off the taxpayers by suing the state? By voting for a governor that has already lied to the teachers and the southern culture people of the state (and I did use the word lie because he exactly told the two groups that he would not do what he actually did). He is also currently lying to the teacher now by telling them they will get 6% raises, no more furlough days and all their other benefits back. Can not be done with raising at least 2 to 3 billion dollars. Do you really think this state wants that kind of a tax increase or that the legislature is even going to consider that kind of a tax increase? No way in this world and he knows it so it is a lie.

How much of that $1 million will Roy be using to advertise on liberal and progressive websites? From what I have seen, he has already spent quite a bit there. Seems a waste, like preaching to the choir.

How can anyone seriously think this idiot Deal can be good for our state? He will make us the laughing stock of the nation.

Who gives a s**t about the dumbass flag, MLK day or teaparty crap and votes based on this. Some of you are wasting your time on these BS issues while Deal and co are stealing all they can and wrecking our local economy.

Wake up people! If given the profiles of Deal and Barnes without seeing party affiliation you all would choose Barnes………
