Your morning jolt: Clay Cox trolls for D.C. money

You can’t say that he’s already measuring the drapes for his office, but the invitation below indicates that Republican state lawmaker Clay Cox of Lilburn is pretty darn confident of his chances in the 7th District race to replace John Linder.

That said, the Capitol Hill Club is a fine place to troll for lobbyist money. Cox warns political action committees not to give him more than $10,000 – because that would be wrong.

Meanwhile, lesser candidates are restricted to YouTube events. Possibly you read a week or so ago that an arm of the conservative Southern Baptist Convention is among the parties pushing for a resolution to the immigration crisis – one that includes a path to legal status for millions of undocumented workers.

It is not a universal opinion among Southern Baptists, including pastor Jodie Hice – another 7th District candidate in the Republican primary. He’s got a video here on the topic.

These guys represent the most extreme elements of the GOP. Pretty scary potential representatives. Jef Fincher is a more reasonable alternative. Hice and Cox are conspiracy theorists that appeal to fear and hate. They both say that not shipping every illegal immigrant back home will give the Democrats millions more voters (that worries them…..)

Finally – the arrogance of Mr Cox is evident in the invitation in DC. To do that a week before the Primary is amazing. Also, he has NO problem appealing to ANY special interest. He is bought and paid for it seems. We need an independent thinker that will represent all in the 7th…..

Jim, why does doing a fundraiser in DC mean Clay thinks he’s the front runner? several of the candidates have done so.

The Clay Cox event hosted by the Governor last night was a big success, there was a full house as expected. Great speech by the Governor as he introduced Mr. Cox which he gave a wonderful and exciting speech on how to over come the bad things happening in Washington. Mr. Cox is the real deal and the man we need to elect to help get America back on the right track. People get out and vote .

Who cares?

Other candidates have done the same thing. I don’t think “troll” is the right word there, Jim. I think it’s asking for support from groups that know he’ll do the best job representing the 7th District.

And to address V,

Do you honestly think that Jef Fincher’s 30 years experience as a stewardess for Delta Airlines makes him the best fit candidate to represent you in Washington, DC??

RE: Who cares.

First – you denigrate all flight attendents when you call Jef a “stewardess”. He has lots of experience in many different areas of his life.
Second – Cox is a career politician whose ambitions are to be able to call himself a Congressman for as long as humanly possible.
Third – you are the type of Cox supporter that gives cause for ALL the other candidates to despise Cox and all his arrogant supporters! You all think it is predestined he should win. I think the voters will have a different opinion. They will want someone that is not bought and paid for by incumbents in Washington DC !!!!!!!!!

And Clay has the endorsement of the Tea Party

1) He has the most special interest money
2) He gave money to the TP days before they endorsed him
3) He introduced a bill in the State House last year to directly help his business. (Conflict of interest?)
4) He had a fundraiser last night with the Guv, LT Guv, and Speaker – can you say “establishment” candidate?

Is this what the Tea Party stands for? I thought we were for independent thought. I have had enough and will leave the Tea Party. Enough! Vote for Jody Hice!

It doesn’t matter who wins the little congressional house races. Georgia’s fate will be determined by King Roy and I – as we will once again rule with an iron hand.

It looks like Clay is the most qualified in that race. I would question what type of a “man” that Fincher guy is. How can a stewardess make decisions about Defense spending when all “he” did was serve stale peanuts to old folks on airplanes.

V: Cox was in the private sector until being elected to the Georgia House in 2004. Six years of service = career politician? Additionally, anyone who faults a candidate for trying to raise money – in their backyard or in DC – clearly has a limited understanding of how campaigns work. I would expect a little more out of Mr. Galloway.
May the best person win in the 7th District.

Everyone is commenting on Mr. Clay when the real jaw-dropping news is the Southern Baptist Convention, one of the most conservative bodies in the US, calls for a path for illegal immigrants to become legal. You could knock me over with a feather. But I still could not go back to being a Baptist.

The gift or receipt of money by any elected official or candidate for public office must be deemed a felony in America. The franchise of the sovereign People is all important before Creed and Constitution, by G-d. Money and politics must be “de-linked” that fascist plutocracy, so obvious by every economic analysis and common sense, be defeated: the Beast of the Roman Anti-Christ’s American “Fifth Column” must be cast into the Pit.

The “Best Government Money Can Buy” has put us in hock to Rome’s bankers of the Federal Reserve and allowed to remain at large the assassins of John and Martin: Richard Nixon, GHW Bush and the Knight of Malta-led Roman Catholic CIA whose murder of President Kennedy sent 58,000 of us to die for lies in Vietnam, just as the same “Fifth Column’s” committing 9/11 has spurred anew a spiraling concentration of wealth and the abomination of further false war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Clay Cox clearly wants more of the Roman Anti-Christ’s “political contributions”/bribes.

With his largely proper take on illegal immigration, too bad Hice is endorsed by “Georgia Right to Life,” for that says he wants to reward rapists and pedophiles by forcing their victims to bring to term the biological, genetic fruit of their felonies.

Who but rapists, pedophiles and other and sundry perverts wish that, for it is abomination to G-d.

Bill,
Jef has worked to keep Delta Union-free for years. Also, he’s worked as a real-estate developer and has done more for this community than Mr. Cox has. Jef has common sense and decency on his side. He is not another politician chosen by other politicians to keep the power in the same hands (Cox is endorsed by Perdue, Cagle, and many other politicians). Jef Fincher will bring a fresh voice to the table: a reasonable one.

@Fincher Supporter – OK, I can commend anyone who stands up to Big Union, but still, to be in Congress, one needs to understand the legislative process and be committed to the constructs of the Constitution. I hardly think a stewardess who has been on the sidelines is qualified to run for Congress. Likewise for the military fella on the Socialist-Democrat side. While I respect his service record, he’s not the right man for the job because he doesn’t have Mr. Cox’s lengthy legislative experience.
I think Mr. Cox will easily win this crucial seat which will be the firewall against the Hussein Obama administration. I urge everyone here who cares about our country’s future to send a check to the Honorable Mr. Clay Cox.
Amen,
Bill

@Will Jones – Atlanta It’s hot here just like Miss Sarah, Will. I do read these lefty blogs to teach myself just what my aunt in North Georgia has to deal with. As you know, she is working hard to get the Honorable Mr. Ray McBerry elected governor. We are praying hard for Mr. McBerry.

Now, let’s get real. The word of the Lord Almighty trumps everything in our Universe. It’s a fact that secular progressive, September 10th far left atheists need to learn. When Judgment Day arrives for you, will you have repented for your blasphemous, anti-Christian/Catholic, pro-illegal immigration, secular writings? I for one, doubt it. We are all sons of God and Jesus and we need to cleanse ourselves of impure thoughts and actions before we go to meet our maker. I pray for you Will Jones for you have sinned the worst of all sins.

@Bill Orvis White: In covenant with the Creator, G-d of the universe, America’s anti-Roman Catholic (Viz. “whig”) Founders established this New Secular Order (Novus Ordo Seclorem), by E Pluribus Unum that all nations of the world might flow into this New Nation ruled only by Truth and Justice and the People – the yeoman artisanry – sovereign under only G-d by Annuit Coeptis.

Those who treasonously attempt to elevate some sectarian creed – particularly the false religion propounded by caesaropapism’s pedophile, Babylonian priesthood – over the American Creed’s three mottoes, such as yourself, are tools of the Beast of Perdition/fascist plutocracy soon to be cast into the Pit. They must pay for assassinating our leaders, financing Hitler and the Holocaust, debasing our currency, promoting illegal immigration, and sending us to false war shedding innocent blood for their lies to enrich Rome’s “Fifth Column,” most recently led by draft-dodgers Bush and Cheney.

We each can be, and all sovereign Americans should be, a child of G-d, should we so choose. Those given over to a reprobate, deviant mind, who financially support Rome, who serve the Roman Anti-Christ in promoting illegal immigration as a published stratagem for an “invasion for conquest” of America (Viz. “The National Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Ministry,” U.S. Conf. of Roman Catholic Bishops’ Document 199-7), and who insist rapists be biologically rewarded by forcing their victims to bear the fruit of their felonies (e.g. all candidates endorsed by Ga. Right to Life), are traitors against America and against G-d. They are servants of Earthy Evil: an abomination outside of G-d.

It is no coincidence that such deviants and perverts support such as Ray McBerry or any of his fellow-travelers in the Gay Old Pervert party.

In America Rome’s end is near, D.V. There will be crying and gnashing of teeth, even in Hattiesburg.

All you Cox supporters, explain why it’s ok to write, sponsor and drop legislation that directly benefits his company and then, when called out by The AJC, Marietta Daily and Creative Loafing, pulls it with the excuse that all is hunky dorey because it didn’t pass out of committee (And, don’t copy/paste his idiotic response from his web site for your answer). Clay is the definition of what is wrong in the GA State House and is salivating at the possibility of taking his “little bit of Georgia” brand of ethics with him to DC.

Driveby Dog nailed it. Jef Fincher developed the deighborhood I live in. He fought the City of Duluth for a needless development that now sits half vacant. Jef has integrity which is more than I can say for the other candidates. I met Clay Cox at a GA special needs meeting in Gwinnett and he came across to me as just another politician. There’s not much there.

You work it with Chuck, man – that’s a winning one for your consultant “biz”. 5th place is respectable.

did it bother you a teensy bit that Americans for Prosperity gave Clay Cox a 100% rating? isn’t that your old stomping ground? You clearly still have pull there.

Who in G-d’s name, would want to vote for a candidate whose chosen, private living is made from putting Americans in jail? His rational, though un-American and un-G-dly, propensity will be, on margin, for finding more “criminality” wherever he can, to boost his business.

Let’s put the real criminals behind bars – like 9/11-committing Bush and Cheney, their minions in The Best Government Money Can Buy, and Clay Cox’s Gay Old Pervert party – and let public servants dutifully handle the task of administering probation.

Georgia and America will be freer and on the return to the Path of Righteousness when we rid ourselves of the pandering hypocrites, liars, adulterers, and “Fifth Column” traitors now running the show and feeding from the Public’s trough on behalf of the Roman Anti-Christ, we came here to escape.

It is a tad bit asinine to malign Jef Fincher for being nothing but a hapless flight attendant. Why should one’s profession be the basis for qualification for Congress? Aren’t we all sick and tired of the life long politicians who game the system? Do we want a Clay Cox representing us, a man who uses his political power as an outlet to ram through legislation that benefits his own devices? Do we want a Jody Hice, who relies on scare tactics and charged rhetoric as a substitute for intellectual debate? If so, our cries for a change in Washington are nothing short of hypocritical. Jef Fincher is a life long resident of District 7, someone whose life is vested in the well being of this community. Is this not the type of person we want in our seat? A real member of the community, a true representative? Let us remember that our founding fathers named our lower house the “House of Representatives.” Let us start fixing what’s wrong with Washington not by replacing one politician with another, but by putting a representative where a representative belongs.

I know that folk like Clay will stand up to the Hussein Obama administration and their high-taxing friends throughout Big Gov’t.
