We’re starting to see some worry that anti-Washington sentiment may be hurting conservative states in the census. This from the Houston Chronicle:
As of Friday afternoon, only 27 percent of Texas households had filled in and returned their census forms — well below the national average of 34 percent — according to computer data from the U.S. Census Bureau….
Contrary to historical trends, some of the toughest challenges facing the agency responsible for measuring the nation’s population are not from counting the traditionally undercounted groups such as African-Americans and Latinos. Instead, a new and growing threat to an accurate national head count is coming from anti-government conservatives who may not fill out their forms to protest against “Big Brother” in Washington.
“There’s a general distrust of the federal government at every level, starting with Congress and the president, all the way down to executive branch agencies,” says Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Midland.

What difference does race make in the census? Why should monies be distributed based on this? Why isn’t there an option for “smorgasbord”, “mutt” or “part of the melting pot” because that is what most of us are anyway. The race issue just stinks of political correctness!!!

Thanks Sigh!
It appears that “Cletus” being the liberal that he is does not understand that if he wants to be seen as anything but the idiot he appears to be he should stay away from such juvenile post. Now, I am off my lunch break and have to go back to work and pay for Cletus’ ripple or Mad Dog – whichever he prefers.

A guy on here asked “Why is President in lower case letters?”. Aren’t you the same people who insisted on calling President George W. Bush, “Mr. Bush” and not “President Bush”? I believe he was President and deserve the same respect. Just more proof that no one can say anything bad about liberals. More proof that liberals can only dish out criticism and not take it any criticism to any of their ideas or actions.

As a person listed on one of our country’s glorious, panacea SEX OFFENDER REGISTRIES, I will not be completing the census. No one wants me around, F them if they think I’ll contribute to anything. The retroactive punishment and harassment of the SEX OFFENDER laws is illegal, immoral, counterproductive, anti-factual, idiotic, anti-religious, and as un-American as you can get. F anyone who supports the un-American laws.

It’s is very telling when you look at the content of the coments – by more than a 2 to 1 margin Liberals have more non-fact based name calling than the Conservatives. Conservatives have about 1/2 of the irrelevant nasty comments. It appears that the Indepents show true class with only a few rogue name callers. Hummmm I think I’ll vote independent in November – seem to be the better choice, if no indepent on the ballot then I’ll go to the lesser of two evils.

The requirement in the Constitution for a headcount has been greatly exaggerated by this new census which asks all sorts of personal questions. I don’t want the government knowing the sorts of things they ask. Must they know how many people live in my house? Ok, fine. But nothing else. This government is doing all sorts of evil things on a daily basis (like bombing innocent people in Afghanistan, stripping away our rights at home, taxing the devil out of us, etc). I really don’t trust them or want their so-called “services”. I’d be a lot better off if somehow Washington, DC would just slide into the Potomac River. That evil city is a constant menace to our prosperity, liberty and security no matter which party is in power.
