Johnny Isakson released from hospital, sent home for rest

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson has been sprung from Northside Hospital after spending several days there with a bacterial infection. This from the release sent by his office:

“Senator Isakson is still recovering from the bacterial infection, but his doctors felt that his condition has improved enough that he could go home and continue his recovery there. Senator Isakson is feeling so much better and he is glad to get back home. He and his family are very appreciative of all the prayers and good wishes they have received this week,” spokeswoman Joan Kirchner said.

One of Isakson’s attending physicians at Northside, Dr. Steven Marlowe, said bacterial infections typically require lots of rest on the patient’s part before they are fully recovered.

“Senator Isakson has really made great progress this week, and we are allowing him to go home today on the condition that he do nothing but rest and recover for at least the next week,” Dr. Marlowe said.

Isakson’s recovery at home will coincide with the Senate’s Easter recess, which begins next week. Isakson, 65, was admitted to Northside Hospital on Monday morning, March 22, after waking up at his home feeling weak and dehydrated.

I believe that if a Senator wants to cast a vote, he can do so from any location. Why didn’t Isakson cast a “No” vote from the hospital, whether or not it made a difference? This is the one thing we elect him to do. Is he up for election this year?

I hope Senator Isakson is feeling better soon. Lucky for him he has a good health insurance policy.

So glad to hear he’s on the road to recovery! Get better soon Senator!
Warbler – a Senator may not vote from anywhere – he must be present on the Senate floor.

Johnny, glad that you’re home and ‘on the mend’…if anybody’s passing this stuff along to you, I’ve been wanting to know, ‘Would Richard Hamilton be proud of the job you’re doing in the Senate?….And, indeed, would he be proud of the man you’ve become since going to Washington? And finally, are you even proud of who, and what, you’ve become?’…that’s all.

BTW, since you didn’t vote on the Jobs Bill I hope your employer count you out for these sick days. You wasting my tax dollars. I have friends who cannot find a job because you haven’t created any or attracted any new businesses to the area. Oh I forgot one needs a “quality education”..oh darn. Georgia forever behind the curve….

Hey Lola: maybe you can give your friend your job, since it is clear from your grammatical skills that you’re illiterate.

Hope Mr. Isakson is on the road to recovery. Then he can get back to his job of doing absolutely nothing for the people of Georgia. He only wanted to be a Senator to stoke his own big money ego!
