@ Kristin. MN. — gotta let you know you are generalizing here… I am an upper middle class twenty-something y/o caucasian in Johns Creek, GA and I happen to be dating a wonderful Haitian young man. He’s college-educated, record holding athlete, and employed full time while obtaining his Masters degree. Just wanted to remind you to think before you over-speak in a public forum. You may have done this knowing there are plenty of Haitians who are civilized and live in clean and well-off environments… but I had to say something to make an example.
The video is an unfortunate capture because people can misconstrue what’s going on easily. I cannot comment on what is going on because the video is not high enough quality nor long enough to tell what is happening. Taking meaning from this is as silly as trying to understand the meaning of an exclamation point in a text message. Excitement? Anger? Fear? Messages are misconstrued and misunderstood in such feeble mediums. Obviously, I am not George Bush, so I cannot say for sure, but I think he encountered a wet, slimy, or dirty hand. I wouldn’t be surprised if he shook ten hands around this time, and the this one hand he shook a hand he shook seemed wet or clammy, and he instinctually wiped this off. Also, CDC reps may just have briefed the visitors on proper hygiene, sanitation, disease transmission methods, and the “squalor” described by many. If you felt something wet or gooey, would you wipe your hand? Or have you ever seen someone with OCD tendencies? Additionally, this isn’t continuous footage. Multiple cameras or very selective clips. Sadly the BBC did not provide us an adequate clip to see whether the hand-wipe was isolated or due to a phobia. How many of you had guts and ambition enough to visit Haiti during this dangerous time? …

Mr. Jefferson’s original draft of the Declaration of Independence, if left unedited, would have ended slavery in 1776. Additionally Our Nation’s Founder, Author, and Prophet entered thirteen Bills of Emancipation while a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, prior to the Revolution.

Disclaimer: I am a Democrat, Black, and a Clinton fan.
With that being said, BOTH of them did what they THOUGHT was in the country’s best interest. Hindsight is 20/20 and neither of them was blessed with the power of seeing into the future.
Personal feelings aside they both deserve respect. The same goes for Obama. In his heart he feels he is doing the right thing and he feels he has the research to back it up. Only time will tell. Those of you on both sides who follow your leaders blindly are worse than Idiots (“panty waste” comes to mind).
Before you start jumping on either side’s bandwagon do the research for yourself. Don’t espouse talking points for every argument. Neither side is infallible and they both will make mistakes the same as you do in your life every day.
Is this healthcare bill the best thing since sliced bread? Um Hell no. But is it better than nothing? I’d bet Mitch’s life on it!
As for all the bravado and race baiting…..Really? How hard is it to be brave on the internet?
