An ‘impeach Thurbert Baker’ movement?

Interesting Tweet from Erick Erickson of Redstate.com:

Members of Georgia House of Representatives are considering impeachment articles against GA-Atty Gen for failing to sue Feds over Obamacare.

This is the first we’ve heard — no other details are available, as yet. But, no aspersions on anyone, but you have to wonder if this might be a Republican plot to avoid Roy Barnes in November.

The Republicans in the Georgia General Assembly are looking more and more stupid everyday. Desperate people do desperate things.

Anything to avoid helping the people of Georgia. The schools are in the crapper, can’t get business to come to a racist hole, the roads have progressed none at all, etc. etc.

This would never fly in a state where the majority of the population knows how to read.

You have got to be kidding me. Baker won’t file a lawsuit because he thinks our state can’t afford it and because it’s not winnable. I call that being responsible. And the repubs file articles of impeachment? Sheesh.

Hey idiots, in America we have these things called “elections”. If Baker really isn’t representing the majority, you can vote him out of office.

To our state representatives: do you ever get tired of being wrong about every darned thing?

Your great-great granddaddies were wrong about the slavery and the civil war…..and they lost.

Your granddaddies were wrong about Jim Crow and civil rights…….and they lost.

You are wrong about healthcare………and you lost. And just like the other two issues you are going to remain losers. Well that’s your prerogative but quit dragging down the rest of the state with you.

I don’t understand how you can feel so much contempt for the people you claim you want to serve.

You may win a few battles in the near future. I am sure of that. But as always you will lose the war. Give it up and slink away gracefully for a change.

What are they going to impeach him for – not being a Republican? Memo to the Republicans…. this is STILL a democracy. God help us when it stops being so.

Thurbert Baker’s response to Governor Perdue might be the first sensible thing Thurbert has done as Attorney General. Where have been all the detractors throughout Thurbert’s highly disappointing reign?

I wish we could split this country in half. One side for the the welfare, wealth envying, pot smoking, Obozo loving democrats. The other side for the hard working,, self responsible, personal property loving americans. So tired of hearing how healthcare is a human right. How in the world should I have to pay because someone i don’t know is unhealthy or to lazy to get a job with benifits. Should I have to help pay for their house, tvs, cable, fake boobs, and cars too? I am starting to wonder if obama is the anti-christ. Maybe the end is near.

It appears that some think that the health care bill that was passed gives free health care to those who cannot purchase their own policies. I’m not fond of the mandate but understand without one you cannot MANDATE insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions without it, unless you want the price of policies to increase ten fold.
Please consider two things:
A law passed in the seventies states that hospitals can not turn away those in need. Because of this our insurance is already paying for those in need but unfortunately at the highest cost. If they went for help sooner, it would not have cost as much. If you don’t like the law, write your reps and senators. Most families pay $1000 more in insurance premiums to cover this.
Two.. Right now corporations are receiving $250,000,000,000 in tax deductions a year to cover the insurance they provide. That’s real money.
I’m not covered by a corporation but am fortunate to be able to buy my own insurance. So right now I’m paying more in taxes because many of you get insurance through work so yeah, I’m helping to pay for your health care. I’m also paying more because emergency rooms treat those without insurance get care.
Yeah, we have the best medical care that money can buy.

Billy Bob and Real, you are examples of hateful, bigoted, stupid Republicans. All this crap reminds me of the furor against the civil rights legislation of the 60″s. We in the south fought futiley to stop it, but of course it was a waste of time and money. The same goes here. Even though the healthcare legislation is the right thing to do, rednecks will oppose it now like they did civil rights legislation then. And we will waste tax money in the process, and show the rest of the country just how ignorant we are.

There you go! If Republicans disagree with you then we hate America. Standard liberal party line response. The truth is I love my country and that is why I am so incensed at what the current administration is trying to cram down our throats. I am not alone – there are more of us than there are of you. This will be obvious in November as it was in Massachusett recently. The liberal Democrats have gone too far. Enjoy your power for the moment – it will be brief. Oh, and by the way, America is a republic, not a democracy. But there is no point in trying to explain that to you. Don’t bother to reply, because I don’t have the time or patience to discuss common sense issues with someone who is incapable of understanding.

Or trying to defund public schools, publicly fund private schools, convert all the major highways into toll roads, and get rid of the state income tax and all taxes on corporations and substitute sales taxes. That would work for starters….

Governor Perdue may be the most worthless, do-nothing governor in the United States, but I think he has a point about how Medicare will continue to bankrupt the states. Probably not a legal issue, but its certainly a policy issue. Besides, slick Sonny is not exactly batting 1,000 in his legal battles. That said, do any of you actually believe the CBO numbers and these “savings” that will be realized? Those numbers are garbage because they were built on poor assumptions, but the Democrats didn’t care what the CBO numbers said. I strongly disagree with President Obama and Speaker Pelosi on the way this was done – process does matter and the mid-term results in November will demonstrate this.
