David Shafer endorses Clay Cox in 7th District race

With state Sen. Don Balfour (R-Snellville) pulling out of the 7th District congressional race, many have asked whether state Sen. David Shafer (R-Duluth) will reconsider the contest.

Here’s the answer Shafer just issued, in the form of a press release from the Clay Cox campaign:

Senator David Shafer (R-Duluth) today endorsed state Rep. Clay Cox to succeed U.S. Congressman John Linder.

“Clay Cox is a good friend and he will make an outstanding Congressman,” Shafer said. “When I decided three weeks ago not to enter this race myself, I encouraged Clay to run. I am counting on him to fight for our conservative principles and help bring fiscal sanity to Washington.”

It wouldn’t surpise me if Shafer endorses Ox over Handel. More of these guys will be pressured by the Ox Mafia.

There is no trash on Cox. He’s not the one who pulled out. Clay Cox is a true blue Republican: A businessman who understands the true threat of the Obamanation Administration.

Don’t we all wish we could threaten to have anybody thrown in jail who ‘owes’ us money from our operation of a government collection agency ‘business’. Misdemeanor offenders forced to pay for ’supervision’ until they can pay off their fines; It’s good work, if you can get it. Often, the ’supervision’ fee can turn out to be more than the fine itself. It’s also sweet when you get to keep those Government contracts that make you rich and hold an elected state position allowing you to ‘tweak’ the law in your favor. But, I wonder if anybody cares…probably not.
