Saxby Chambliss’s office just confirmed that the U.S. senator and Gov. Sonny Perdue will host a March 15 fund-raiser at the Georgian Club for Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.
Crist is locked in a bitter Republican primary with former Florida house speaker Marco Rubio for a U.S. Senate nomination.
Already, Georgia is seeing some spin-offs from the battle.
Rubio has been championed in Georgia by Erick Erickson of Redstate fame and other GOP hardcores. This won’t make them happy.
On the other hand, Crist has been described by many as the most reluctant governor in the tri-state water negotiations. So maybe he and Perdue can use the event to come to an understanding.

Rubio is the real deal, he will win in the upcoming election.
I don’t see the logic in some of our officials getting behind Crist.

Rubio is an opportunity to start turning this country around. Too bad Crist has to go out of state to find support. Georgian’s don’t vote in Florida.

Never in a million years would I expect that Perdue and Chambliss would support Crist. Charlie Crist has caused nothing but outrage in Florida, and Sonny and Saxby always seemed like fairly straight-shooters to me, although Perdue may have been born in a log cabin.

Saxby is in the back pocket of the Sugar Industry. Crist screwed the Fla taxpayer to help the Sugar Industry. Easy to understand what Saxby is doing and why, just follow the money.

It takes a RINO to know a RINO. As a lifelong Republican and party worker I will NEVER vote for or support another RINO, namely, Chambliss, Perdue and Isakson. Just because they want to spend money at a lesser rate than Obama and the Democrats doesn’t mean they are any less quilty of betraying the American people, indebting future generations and compromising our national security with obligations to foreign counties that really don’t like us and will someday use it against us. WE, the past supporters of these betrayers of American ideals and common sense, are to blame as well. Our Republic will not stand as long as we have to vote between the lesser of two evils.

There is a recent poll out that shows 56% of respondents simply want Crist gone. They need to keep their noses out of the primary fight and back whoever the state of Florida chooses if they are trying to build some sort of Republican street cred.

The fundraiser for Crist is just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. I have been predicting Crist’s demise since November 2009. In fact, I expect Crist to drop out about the same time McCain drops out in Arizona, probably for “health reasons”. Crist and McCain, the “Napoleonic Complex Twins”, and will hopefully go down togethger..
Isakson at least has the common sense to stay out of Crist’s campaign. Of course Isakaon is in an unpopular re-election campaign himself. Check out Rasmussen Reports for details: http://shar.es/mHVjd
