Sonny Perdue ignores offer of a Tech-Iowa wager

The Sioux City Journal has uncovered proof that Gov. Sonny Perdue has no interest in a 2012 presidential bid:

DES MOINES – An offer for a friendly wager over Tuesday’s Orange Bowl from Iowa Gov. Chet Culver was apparently ignored by Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue’s office.

The University of Iowa Hawkeyes are taking on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the FedEx Orange Bowl Tuesday night in Florida.

Culver spokesman Troy Price said a message left with Perdue’s office was not returned.
“We reached out and never heard back from them,” Price said.

My guess would be that Sonny doesn’t really care about the fate of the second best football team in the state.

Friendly wagers are a slippery slope. If Sonny starts “gambling” then the Sunday alcohol sales advocates will be all up in arms. :/

Maybe Sonny should remember that he is Governor of the WHOLE state!
Or maybe he didn’t ignore the offer; he didn’t ignore the education, transportation, or water issues in this state, did he?

PS Welcome back Jim. Hope you enjoyed your time off!

I believe that Sonny got his GED diploma from Mutley U,, did he not? But Sonny’s not anti-gambling. He made a friendly wager with Tejas governor Rick Perry on his college’s game with Texas A & M. But this type of deal is so……..Sonny. What else to say?

He’s never heard of Iowa, so he didn’t feel the need to respond.

Is this really news? Was it necessary to kill Sonny on this? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gov was at the game tonight. He’s very supportive of the whole state.

Well Good Thing Sonny Didn’t Respond! Depending upon whose money he gambles with, he might have saved the state some money. Historically betting on Tech would not be fiscally prudent! As taxpayers we all owe him a big ole “Thank you!”

[...] Even the Gov. saw this one coming. [...]

Sonny didn’t have time to respond, much too busy trying to ruin Jekyll Island.

We don’t need Purdue’s petty support. We have the support of the former president of this country.
