The Speaker has a long list of reasons to relinquish his leadership position over at the State House of Representatives. Among the many unanswered questions of the Speaker's behavior while in office was his ablility to get a divorce in-chamber and have it sealed by a by the judge (a former law partner). It is very likely that this issue along with other actions while in office has placed the speaker in a position of deminished leadership ability and therefore he should resign.

I'm astounded to see that so many people who can take the time to comment on ajc.com cannot find the time to do a Google search of "depression" and learn more about it before making broad, sweeping statements about a person who suffers from the illness. If the Speaker had suddenly announced he suffered from diabetes or cancer, would the comments be the same?

Anti-depressant medication helps people get through life every day. Perhaps Speaker Richardson missed a few doses of medication, which threw him into a temporary suicidal state. Perhaps he's on the wrong medication, or perhaps he was not medicated at all. Either way, with the proper medication and dosage, he can function just as well as, or even better than, anyone else who may not suffer from mental illness.

Stop kicking a man while he's down, and learn about how you could help your depressed sister/friend/neighbor instead!

The only good thing about Richardson is that he goes after the female lobbyist unlike most Republicans who like the boys.

Rhonda Atlanta....Brunswick News may be a joke but so Richardson. We need a speaker who cares more about Georgia than good looking lobbyist.
