This posted by Public Policy Polling of North Carolina:
PPP’s newest national survey finds that a 52% majority of GOP voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama last year, with only 27% granting that he won it legitimately….
Belief in the ACORN conspiracy theory is even higher among GOP partisans than the birther one, which only 42% of Republicans expressed agreement with on our national survey in September.
Overall 62% of Americans think Obama legitimately won the election to only 26% who think ACORN stole it for him, as few Democrats or independents buy into that line of thinking.

George W. Bush stole the election for Obama. What republican could overcome that debacle?

It’s official, the GOP has lost its marbles. I suggest all moderate Republicans form their own party. I am the type of Democrat that welcomes sensible debate, but the wackos make that very hard.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the GOP take one of the congressional houses in 2010.

Several times in the run up to the election I witnessed ACORN people in the 5 Points Marta station, outside Kroger, and other locations frequented by blacks and hispanics, registering people to vote. They did not ask for any ID, and were obviously targeting by race. Each time I complained and they were dispersed by security, but there is no doubt that those efforts led to the election of the man the London Times called, “The US’ child president.”

Bush actually received fewer votes than Gore in 2000, and I have read plenty of times that some recounts had Gore coming out on top in Florida. That’s a lot more plausible than some voter registration group somehow made up a few million votes.

Actually, it’s a lot dumber than the Dem belief that Bush stole the 2000 election (and let’s not forget the shenanigans in Ohio in 2004). On the up side, nothing provides more enjoyment on a daily basis than the constant news reports showing how the GOP is destroying itself from the inside out. Dems (and Acorn) could only dream of that.
Hey GOP – please, please, please nominate Sarah Palin in 2012. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How satisfying it will be to see her crushed like the lightweight she is.

Charon Clymer Eve, ID is not required to register to vote. You fill out a form and mail it in. That’s one reason that they check ID when you actually vote. But yes, I’m sure that they were “targeting by race.” Minorities are strongly underrepresented.
Also, neener neener, we won, you lost. Loser.

No, BUSH did steal the election is 2000 with the assistance of the US Supreme Court and the redrawing of District Line and a number of GOP controlled States. You can not stop a recount in the middle of the recount.
As far as Acorn is concerned, Acorn is a community organization group the assist the poor to include Blacks, White, Hispanic…ect with finding jobs, voter registration, organizing for rallies and a number of other things. Acorn got into trouble for following Government Regulations for voter registration. According to the GOP, Acorn committed voter fraud by turning over voter registration card of forged and duplicate names. Now, Acorn could have thrown these cards away perhaps, but remember if you get 100,000 voter registration cards, you have to turn in 100,000 voter registration cards, no matter what’s on them. Also, Acorn had already admitted to have irregularities on the registration cards that were turned in by the people they hired off the street, so the Government knew about this. Nevertheless, according to the law, Acorn must turn in each and every registration card no matter what’s on them, e.g.. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, George Bush Jr., they still have to turned in, but of course, the GOP has to put there hand in everything once again, stick it to the poor.
Now, anything outside of this is only piling on, e.g. video vigilantes with hidden cameras, GOP house and senate debate on the house and senate floor, Fox News getting its viewers all in an uproar, this is all piling on for no reason other then President Barack Obama is the President of the United States, a Black Man, and Bush messed and entire country up.
Remember, the pulling of federal funding does not state Acorn by name, so guess what? This now threaten each and every community organization group in the country. This is the unintended consequence of the GOP quick to react strategy. Just like The Patriot Act!!!!!, Just like 3 Strikes law, its all good until it happen to someone they love or something they support.
FACT CHECK THAT!!!

For one thing, the next election will be bad for ALL incumbants from both parties, Republican or Democrat.
Unless we get more employment soon, the people will blame their member of Congress (and the President, of course, but he’s not up for re-election).
So, the big story now is you don’t want to be an incumbant. The people are just mad, and I don’t blame them.

Independent Thinker, many “poor people” are poor for a reason. Many of them have made “poor” choices in their life (and they will tell you this also). Even the poorest people in this country have welfare, health care, free transportation, section 8 housing, TV’s, air condition, etc…some people need this which I think is good, however, many of them are just sorry losers…so F’em. Nobody is trying to “stick-it” to the poor. Liberals use groups such as ACORN to pander to these people to win votes by promising more of these stupid programs…all while making the “rich man” foot the bill.

Less then 25 % of the country is the conservative republican menace. Since the 39 conservative white men, representatives of 12 colonies craved out the Constitution for the enterprises of their plantations with free slave labor and speculation of lands to the west. All legal property of the Native Indians. They for sure to form a more prefect Union, established justice, domestic tranquility, provide for common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty for themselves and their posterity. With deliberation what they left out was equal justice for all, equal domestic tranquility fro all, promotion of general welfare for all and blessings of liberty and posterity for all.
To that end the Native Indians the owners of the vast lands, blacks free or salves and all other minorities were not only left out but bluntly, with coercion, reckless abandon and impunity denied all rights. The only people that counted were the conservative white republican kinds.
That per say is what these conservative republican malignant narcissists, chronic scape goaters, uncorrectable grab baggers, with their perversity of inequality and rights only of their kind are trying to hold to any way possible.
President Obama has beaten their game of rigged elections, the flawed electoral system by the good old boys net work, cut across the disenfranchisement that has been the status quo since the Jim Crow days and won the election against all odds.
The megalomaniac, compulsive-obsessive, sociopath, Bush with his divine religious mandate, being the messenger of his god with his cohorts of Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condi Rice and the hoard of these neo-conservatives, in 8 years since 2000 managed to saddle the country with a federal deficit of over $11 trillion and some $14 trillion debt owed to the Chinese, Arabs, Japanese / others. Not to mention over a billion dollar a day ( including DOD, CIA, State Dept and other US agencies ) cost for the fraud Iraq war and the BS untenable war on terror in Afghanistan. All for the profits of these conservative republican owned, managed, operated industrial-military-security complex. The two wars now in their 8th year.
The propaganda of terror hype, fomentation of hate, fear, republican patriotic feeding frenzy to control the hearts and minds of a misled and gullible nation after 9/11 has been very successful Nazi type tool further ideologically divide, polarize and set the destruction of the country from within at a fast track.
All the fraud Iraq war did was multiply the ranks of al Qeada some million fold and set the world against this country. The result was alienation of the US by 95% of the world and us paying for it through the nose. Now after 8 years of this conservative republican menace we find ourselves economic terror besieged, unemployment reaching some 15% and the country heading up the creek without a paddle. While this conservative republican menace carrying on their usual belly aching, institutional discrimination, racism, bigotry and not being able to stomach that a black, very intelligent, smart, highly educated man is the President of this country.
Go cry , moan and holler all you SOBs want. Who cares.

My understanding is that saome part-time workers hired by ACORN filled out registrations under fake names so that it would look like they had registered more voters than they actually did. Not a good thing, obviously, but it is unlikely that it actually led to ANY fraudulent voting. Joe Schmoe part-timer may have written down Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Mickey Mouse, but come election day, there’s no evidence that people then showed up to vote using those names. They were simply no shows on a list in a precinct. It’s registration fraud, NOT vote fraud — that can’t swing an election.
