I hope and pray that one day the citizens of Atlanta will realize the we have all the industry and development that we can stand and if this town has not prospered from it by now,we never will,simply put,we have been bamboozled,not because some of us openly support Mary Norwood for mayor (and I am a supporter) but by administration after administration allowing big developers,suburban transients and the General Assembly run roughshod over the TAXPAYING CITIZENS of Atlanta for decades,I wil take a Clean city over an International city any day,I will take a well managed SAFE city over a convention mecca any day.Our taxes are high and our water bills are higher,we are not safe in this city regardless of what our statistic regurgitating Chief of Police tells us,no numbers don’t lie but people do.Does this soud like a city that has prospered from growth and runaway developement,I think not.The Ga General Assembly convenes 40 (forty) days a year,so where do you think Kaseem Reid spent his other time,keeping in mind he managed both of Mayor Franklin’s mayoral campaigns,people ,Mr Reid was on the commitee that selected Chief Pennington,he has served as and advisor as well as as a spoksperson throughout her tenure.We thought nothing of voting for CHANGE when we elected President Obama,because we were a fed-up nation,I am a Grady baby and I have as many battle scars from the Cival Rights Movement as anyone and more than ANY of the insiders and coatail riders of this and previous administrations which are one in the same.And as the nation has spoken ,I so speak…I am fed-up and I WANT Change.I am for anyone who wants to stay in town and get this city clean and safe .I am For Norwood

This is so sad. Yes Kasim is part of the machine yes mary is on the outside of things and yes mr. Long has a right to stand for what he beleives in and not be lynched becaues of it! Only God knows what this run-off will be but I can say this as a black women I donot like this campaign it is agonizing to hear the horrid comments and see sadly that this race is defintely along racial lines. So you haven’t heard from Mary lately then I would be just a little concerned. You want to keep your enemies/oppnents insight not outta sight!

Bunnie Ransom-Jackson has done more to set back the work of those white Atlantans like my father and late mother and their friends who fought so hard for civil rights in the 1960’s and 70’s than even the heinous advertisement that Congressman Lewis, Ambassador Young and Mayor Franklin did against Lee Morris. My dad got death threats in response for his efforts, but he and we stuck it out.

But for what?

Ransom-Jackson’s apology does not negate the truthfulness of what she said – it’s all about power, and now you have become the exact thing that you and we fought so hard against. It wasn’t right then. It isn’t right now. I imagine Dr. King looking down at this scene and shaking his head – we STILL haven’t got it. We’re not even close.

I can not believe the level of racism and ignorance from many of these posters.

Are you so devoid of integrity you think that this crap will hold any moral water???

You can call decent men “Uncle Toms”, decent women “white bitches”, etc.

But the rest of us who are so embarrassed by this behavior with move far away from you on the bench.

Sad.
