Pierce, judging by your torture of the English language, writing *anything* should be off-limits to you.

I was hoping for once that race would not be a part of the discussion. Unfortunately, when I read thru the postings; SOME of you have interjected it. I just want what's best for Atlanta. May the best candidate win. Whomever wins needs to be held accountable.

What we are witnessing in tonight's election - and not just in ATL - is Obama voter smugness and apathy. The voters who put our current president in office (everyone knows the Pelosi Democrats are running things - Obama is just a sock puppet teleprompter reader). Those who voted for Obama are sitting at home thinking local, regional, and state elections (see: Virginia governorship) are not important.

Many Obama voters I know aren't even keeping up with politics these days other than the ubiquitous headline grabbing health care issue. Other than that, they have no clue what's going on. Well Democrats, you'd better start paying attention, because just ask quickly as you snatched power away from Republicans, that pendulum is starting to lean back the other way. Locally now, to be sure. But the winds of change are on 2010, which will lead to an uncharted course in 2012.

Ya'll are biased for not mentioning that Jesse Spikes failed to attract 98% of the preliminary vote. For shame!

This election could be won or lost on police response to theft, assault and murders. I wonder if the city thought about that before furloughing the police?
