Rose, that's quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You do realize that George Washington never had children, right? Children of Men is a great movie, but it's not relevant to this conversation ;)

Rose,
Here's a little insight on Handel. http://bit.ly/43ZkHG

Your premise that Handel can't serve the citizens of Georgia because she has no children is asinine

Rule .303, it's relevant because Karen Handel represents herself as the only "woman" in the race. Most women I know have children. There's nothing wrong with Karen Handel not having children. I'm not sure what her reasons are. Could be inability or could be selfishness. The question is whether we want a governor who has not had the profoundly awesome experience of being a parent. Someone who has not worried about the local elementary school, or stretched a budget to feed a family, or dealt with a little one's asthma, or tenderly bathed a newborn. Children make the world go around. They are the reason we build and develop and generally try to make things a little better. Karen Handel, so to speak, doesn't have a dog in the good fight. Rent the movie Children of Men.

Never thought I'd agree and sympathize with Douglas on something.

I doubt I'll be voting for Handel, and I understand the "no degree" comments, but what's up with that "no kids" concern? Is that a southern thing? Is that code for something? Seems pretty pathetic and desperate.

Will Jones: ...no kids... Until you have been through the heartbreak of not being able to have children, you cant imagine how cruel that comment is. My wife and I were in the same situation but were able to adopt. I pray that life never presents you with some sort of situation that you can't control. And I hope that at some point, compassion becomes a trait of your personality.

Marilyn Quayle's papist carpetbagger..."No college degree"...no kids...couldn't come up with a paper trail to establish integrity for Georgia's ballots.

Interesting that Byrne has jumped ship.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FOR FURTHER INFORMATION:
December 19, 2008 Kathryn Ballou, (404) 558-4905
Oxendine Announces First Round of
Campaign Leadership Team
Commissioner John Oxendine is honored to announce the first round of leaders for Team Oxendine - Governor 2010.
"It is humbling to have such a great team of Georgia leaders supporting my campaign to transform Georgia government. We have set the foundation for a true statewide campaign. I want to be the Governor for all of Georgia.
Consider where Georgia is after this past Legislative Session: At the end of the Session, Georgians still have no tax cuts, are still stuckin traffic, still have no new economic development projects, and still trailother states on school test scores. My message to Georgia taxpayers: Helpis on the way and change is coming."

Please welcome the first of multiple announcements of Team Oxendine:

Finance Committee Chairman:
Dan Amos - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aflac Incorporated
Senior Policy Advisor:
Bill Byrne - Former Chairman Cobb County Board of Commissioners and former Republican candidate for Governor
