I hate to tell you "Atlanta is Stupid" but if the City goes to h*ll, it's going to take the suburbs, including your precious Cobb County, with it. Corporations won't consider any part of metro Atlanta, but instead look to Dallas, Houston, Denver, etc..., if the City completely loses it.

So, you shouldn't be so gleeful over your myopic viewpoint.

I am so going to enjoy the financial disaster that is rolling over the criminal city of atlanta....roflol....
Sandy Springs is free, free, free at last of the lying thieving scum in Fulton County, thanks to the State Leg allowing them to become a city. Too bad the better area's of Atlanta cannot do the same, become independent cities.

With Kasim as mayor, Atlanta will get a lot more tax money from other areas---the African Americans in the city need more services than they get now and taxes are the only way to do it!

Oh please tax me to visit your strip malls and cul-de-sacs.

I've longed for the boredom and security in knowing my favorite chain store is minutes down the street. I loved the hour long commutes, the segregation, the lack of diverse architecture and contributing nothing to the city that is the mother of your existence.

Without Atlanta you're just Georgia. A state that is 46th in education and one that would lose 9 of it's 13 Fortune 500 companies.

Atlanta needs to start taxing all these rich people from Cobb and Gwinnett county who come down to atlanta to work and get all the benefits, but don't pay for any services used. Time to pay up, or stay up in those redneck counties with the other rich white people!

And for the people who hate Atlanta so much, I'm guessing you want a state with no major urban center? Do these folks think that jobs in Metro Atlanta would not be impacted if the City were actually as bad as they make it seem or if it disappeared as many folks on this message board would wish? If you want states that lack thriving economic centers, go to Mississippi or South Carolina. It baffles me to no end how some folks in Metro Atlanta think that this state or this region would be what it is without the City of Atlanta.

These folks either lack common sense or something else really motivates their animus toward the City.

No, I am already avoiding city. The commuter tax would just be an extra incentive.

What's really interesting is that so many of the anti-tax folks are probably the same folks who find most issue with Senator Reed, who would not support either idea.

If you have to wait for a commuter tax to avoid the city, the city doesn't need you around anyhow.
