Rush Limbaugh to be dropped from NFL bid

ESPN is running with this:

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Three-quarters of the 32 owners in the league would have to approve any sale to the group in which Limbaugh is a minority member.

If I was a football player who worked tirelessly day after day , night after night , everyday for a couple of decades and it all culminated on draft day by me being selected by the Rams I would be to despondent to ever work again . I would be so forlorn & inconsolable I think I would have to go through the rest of my life fully dependent on the government to take care of me . The Rams might not win a game for the next three years .

After the baseball players stricke in 1994 I stopped watching baseball and haven’t watched a game yet… as of today I am also done with the NFL. Sorry Falcons… even if you make to the Super Bowl I won’t be watching

The intolerance of differing opinions by liberals abounds during this administration of hope and change. Soon this thread will be filled by those falsely accusing him of “racism” and “hate speech.” The rest of us will know better, because we’ve actually listened to his shows.

So much for a free country.
Why the hell are Rappers that use the N word and rap about all their Hoe’s and Byithches still

Maybe if Rush started singing the praises of drug dealers, hoe’s, the ghetto lifestyle and pulling

The MSM ran all over Rush. Why can’t a man who pulled himself up by the booststraps (with help from his mother+father) and started from nothing, fulfill his dream? Rush worked hard to get where he’s at through a strong work ethic, faith in the Lord Almighty and Oxycontin. So, just when he climbs to the top of the ladder, Socialists like Godless Keith Olbermann knock the poor fella down? Why? I know why–the far left have an organized conspiracy to ruin the Honorable Mr. Limbaugh, a man who has achieved-only to be denied an opportunity. This is no longer America. This is Hussein’s America, a Godless, amoral, Socialist Republic that worships a Kenyan Muslim man who loves being around terrorists and is implementing Marxist ideology by kicking God out of our schools and gov’t buildings. This is a sad day when a man cannot do as he wishes in the name of producing more jobs and expanding the tax base. Lord help us all in this scary new Socialist country that is waving the white flag of surrender to evildoers.

I love how these people(Republicans of Georgia) defend Rush saying “He not racist” Here are some quote directly from him

“”I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.”"

“”You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.’”

“”Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”"

“”Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”"

“”The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”"

“”Take that bone out of your nose and call me back”"(to an African American female caller).

The guy plays a song called “Barack the magic negro” on his show.

Feel free to listen to him and believe whatever you want, the guy is a racist….and the players union will block him from buying the Rams.

Interesting, Rush always spouts the merit of capitalism, yet you have 32 NFL owners who shares tv rights equally and share home gate attendance 60/40. That sound socialist to me. If people could just put aside their love/hate and just be reasonable, the NFL is a private organization, they choose members just like a private country club. It is not how much money you have but how you made your money. The NHL just denied a billionaire from Canada from buying the Phoenix Coyotes, why? because they don’t like him and fear that he will move the team to Canada.

By the way, the same people who are screaming that people who don’t like Rush are saying they are against free speech weren’t many of you in favor of radio stations boycotting the Dixie Chicks a few years ago? Yeah, thought so.

Rush has to remember words do have consequences, he made his money with words and those words apparently are coming back to bite him.

This doesn’t have anything to do with white, black, dem or repub. The NFL is a private, not public business. There was a day it wasn’t televised. They can vote for Bozo the Clown uniforms for the refs, elephants at halftime, or the SuperBowl to played on Christmas at 8AM if they want. Point being – IT’S PRIVATE!!! If you have a private business you can accpet and deny anyone you want. Ever been fired from a job for “without cause.” It’s legal. No laws broken. End of story.

People can blame lefties all they want but the fact is that Limbaugh was dropped because Checketts came to the realization that he couldn’t get the prerequisite approval from 3/4 of the owners for this sale to go through. Especially after Jim Irsay (Colts owner) and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came out against Limbaugh as owner. The NFL owners club certainly can’t be called a hotbed of socialism or communism since as a group they donated some 3.2 million dollars to the McCain/Palin campaign. Note to Jim Galloway: you certainly could have provided a lot more in the way of context to this story. Very lazy reporting.

Rush Limbaugh is proof that Republicans care only about money.

The only positive aspect of this imbecile is that he has made a fortune for himself.

Republicans and psycho “ditto heads” are willing to overlook all these aspects of Rush Limbaugh simply because he is very wealthy:

(1) STUPIDITY – he has no college education and his mother is quoted as saying he almost flunked out of high school.

(2) COWARD – he used a medical excuse to get out of going to Vietnam, having his doctor write a note saying that a BOIL ON HIS BUTT prevented him from serving his country;

(3) ANTI-AMERICAN PARTISAN – he has said he hopes Obama fails, and he even did a “dance of joy” with a big smile on his face when America lost our Chicago bid for the Olympics. What kind of message does it send to the world when high-profile conservatives in our own country dance with glee when we lose something to a foreign country?

(4) DRUG ADDICT

(5) CRIMINAL – in order to feed his drug addiction he doctor-shopped to illegally obtain pain pills, and then bought expensive legal counncil that saved him from what would have been jail or prison time;

(6) HYPOCRITE – despite ditching the draft during the Vietnam war on a medical excuse that he had a boil on his rear end, Limbaugh still targets anti-war protesters on his radio spews. I guess it’s OK to be a coward and get out of going to war using a bogus medical claim, but it’s wrong to demonstrate against a war you don’t agree with?

Also, Limbaugh bought his way out of going to jail for his criminal drug activity, yet he regularly advocates prison sentences for drug users on his radio show.

Why on earth would ANYONE look up to this guy or take anything he says seriously?

Just because he’s rich?????

Pathetic!

1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 are totally made up by your sources. There is no transcript or recording that supports you.

5 was said in the context of a taunting penalty costing a team a game and the taunting denigrating the NFL (and football in general). It’s a valid point, perhaps not expressed the best way, and he’s said so.

9 was said and it was right or at least a legitimate point for debate. It wasn’t a comment on McNabb, it was a comment on the media. It was also apparent the media felt the same way about a presidential candidate, since it always mentioned the historic perspective of the first black president. that’s an observation, not a racist, discriminatory statement.

Here is his denial if you are interested in facts:
