Al Sharpton: Say no to Rush Limbaugh’s NFL bid
Politico.com just posted the following:
The Rev. Al Sharpton pleaded with the National Football League on Monday to deny conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh the opportunity to buy the St. Louis Rams franchise.
In a letter sent to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Sharpton wrote that he was “disturbed” to hear about Limbaugh’s interest in the Rams and asked for a meeting with Goodell “to discuss the myriad of reasons as to why [Limbaugh] should not be given an opportunity to do so.”
Sharpton argued that Limbaugh has been “anti-NFL” in his comments about several of the league’s players, specifically naming Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick.
In addition, Sharpton wrote that Limbaugh’s “recent statement that the NFL was beginning to look like a fight between the Crips and the Bloods without the weapons, was disturbing.”

Limbaugh is an unfortunate and divisive addition to the Dave Checketts group.
Limbaugh makes his money by being confrontational and controversial. That’s his right and he does it very well.
But he cannot expect people to overlook all that when he wants to join a very PR-sensitive outfit like the NFL. Heck, even the Player’s Union is against him. When’s the last time they did that with an ownership group?
Limbaugh is a bad fit and I’ll be surprised if he ends up as a minority NFL owner. I suspect that either Checketts will ditch him as being more trouble than he’s worth, or the group will fail in its bid to buy the team.

Here’s a little tip for y’all: Forget about it. Who cares what Rush L. or Al S. do? I don’t let either one of them affect my life, why should you? The NFL is a mercinary, capitalistic organization. Yes, I love the game of football, enjoy watching skilled players, and enjoy watching my hometown team (Falcons) win! But it’s really all about the quest for the almighty dollar out of our pockets. Personally, I’d rather watch college ball because most of those kids will graduate (or not), work for a living, start a family, and endure the same challenges as the rest of us regular folks. Watching their shining moments in the sun before that happens is a pleasure. Congrats to those who pro, but it doesn’t mean anything to me. I want to know specifically what racists comments Limbaugh has said. If he said them, they should be easy enough to find…So where are they? I think you should have to prove charges of racism, these days. It’s not enough to call somebody racist and let that be that.

Limbaugh is an angry self-serving conservative who whines to the top of lungs everyday with people who blindly belive his every word just to be ‘for’ something and ‘against’ the President. If the ignorant really think about it, shouldn’t there be something meaningful and positve he can say about our President? If not, that’s a red light that Limbaugh is a looney homogenous thinker. Oh well, just like Fox News, Limbaugh’s show is simply mindless entertainment that preaches to the choir. Limbaugh owning a team would be a joke. It would be like letting someone hooked on Oxycontin work as a Pharmacist.

Non racist here….that being said anyone who takes Al Sharpton seriously these days is an idiot. He, along with Jesse Jackson, lost their credibility long ago. If I were black i would not want my cause taken up by these 2; they only cheapen the true cause and that is sad when it is truly a good one.
