From SNL: A satire on inaction

The opening skit from NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” is worth watching for the raking fire it serves up from Barack Obama’s left flank. And for Fred Armisen’s decision to take a Chevy-Chase-as-Gerald-Ford approach, abandoning any attempt to mimic the president.

SNL has gotten so horrible that I doubt it even matters.

The only problem with that cold open is it wasn’t funny. Having Obama’s inner leftist criticize himself was a bad idea. It just didn’t work. It was essentially a political commentary and nothing more.

The show has always been horrible, but I just viewed this clip and it’s completely right. This installed-president is a disaster — even worse than Jimmah Carter. It’s sad that these untalented lefties had to tell the truth like this.

Obama has been very liberal. Just think what it would be like if Obama had done what the fartherest left fringe wants from him. Scary!

It wasn’t funny because it was true.

Gosh, less than 9 months in, and he hasn’t reformed health insurance (a goal which frustrated several of his predecessors)? We’re not completely out of Iraq yet? (Didn’t he say it was going to take a couple of years to have most troops out?) Apparently some people have attention spans conditioned by 30 minute sitcoms….or tweets.

What I like ablut the South is also what I hate about it, the closed minded sure that the..”South’s gonna rise agin” mentality. It even turns on its own, something no othern Dawgs will do.

I think that it is obvious that the writers at SNL are racist. Only racist make fun of or protest Obama. I bet if you checked some of those writers were at the hatefilled violent tea parties this summer and at the borderline riots at all the town halls. I hate racism, And haters hate on Obama.

Funny how upset everyone is getting when SNL rips on the current president. Where were all these people the 35 years+ that SNL has been ripping every previous politician, let alone presidents? Everyone usually can have a good laugh…but no more…now you’re a racist when you disagree or poke fun. Lighten up people! It’s comedy! It’s not supposed to be completely true, accurate, or expect to be fact checked!

A few comments:
1) SNL has been consistently funny throughout the reigns of Tina Fey and Seth Meyers as head writers.

2) “installed-president” – what the hell does that mean?

3) Obama has had a “liberal” presidency? Really? Other than a moderate approach to an intractable problem (healthcare), what has been done that hasn’t primarily benefitted big business and Wall Street and what “liberal” positions has he really staked out? Nothing on immigration, social issues, or foreign policy that could be considered liberal has been accomplished or, really, attempted, hence the ENTIRE POINT OF THE ABOVE-LINKED VIDEO.

Obama has no clothes. This is happening faster than I ever thought it would.

SNL skit is just the beginning for the Prez… These are tough problems and the public and media want answers now, since they sat around for 8 years watching Prez Bush make matters worse or do nothing.

@Shin Humper Oh, the clothes have shedding for years, Shin. The mistakes started happening the minute he screwed up the Oath. He should have been ushered off the stage at the moment and Governor Huckabee should have been escorted over to the Honorable Justice Roberts to take back this country.
What does “take back” mean? It means bringing this nation back to its Founding Fathers’ vision.
